Christmas stockings for Nutty

Now, has everyone got their cameras ready for tonight? Batteries charged/ changed? New film/ empty memory card? There must be complete documentation of the entire event, or all those of us who can't come along will flounce. Live updates would be nice.

Tigga - thank you so much for lovely words about baskets. That made me cry . Can you tell me what the difference is between a bodice and a bustier?

WFH - fingers crossed for your Mum. Good that they can get her in for the USS before Xmas. Gall bladder/ gall stones v.treatable, especially if she is in otherwise fine fettle.

We've got one of those 'paint your own mugs' hanging around, which I intend to get H to put handprints on (assuming the paints are safe ) to give to DH from H. He has also got a desk calendar with photos of H. I would almost bet money that H hasn't got me anything

We took H to Wagamama at the weekend, and he was quite well behaved, spent most of the time chomping on a ramen spoon-thingummy, had some duck gyoza and some chicken katsu curry! Flirted with our waiter

Bic - it's easy to see how these sling collections build up, isn't it! I'm thinking mei tai for short trips, wrap for longer walks. I've just had a go at trying to get H onto my back with a swishy twisty toss....but I bottled it !

Cripes, Boff, can you send DH to get pump? Will you explode without it? How goes the childcare situation?

Puzz - was DH close to his Uncle? Always so sad when it happens so close to Christmas, or other significant events . (MIL passed away on her birthday, which was also Easter Sunday that year )
No stair climbing here, thank goodness! Still very little rolling, but a sudden leap in standing (supported). No teeth either.

Auld - fuckaduck indeed Hope DS1 gets to enjoy it while you've got it!

GuimauveRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 18/12/2009 12:36

Wassup WFH. Why ?

GuimauveRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 18/12/2009 12:37

Because of party?

SurpriseInACracker · 18/12/2009 12:38

WFH - hope your mum is okay?

Bron - is everything okay with Nia now? Did they operate in the end?

Puzz - I had my stick insects from a friend cos she was scared of them! Regretting it now....

SurpriseInACracker · 18/12/2009 12:40

Puzz - my DH's uncle has passed away this morning. We have no idea why. He had a stomach upset and then collapsed. Ambulance called and they said his BP was dangerously low and took him to hospital and he died. Only in late 50's

Hope your DH is okay.

GuimauveRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 18/12/2009 12:42

Surprise - so sorry about your Uncle-IL. His poor family.

GuimauveRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 18/12/2009 12:54

Christmas Biscuit

GoodKingWhatFreshHellLookedOut · 18/12/2009 12:57

Yes, sad because of missing party

GoodKingWhatFreshHellLookedOut · 18/12/2009 12:58

Surprise - so sorry to hear about uncle. What a sad time of year to lose someone.

SnowyBoff · 18/12/2009 12:58

Shit, Surprise. That's awful.

SurpriseInACracker · 18/12/2009 13:01

thanks, yeah it is a horrible time. Feel sorry for DH's grandad the most, he lost his wife only last year and now his son.

WFH - I wish I could go tonight too

SurpriseInACracker · 18/12/2009 13:11

BTW - I love this thread title. I keep singing it now though

GuimauveRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 18/12/2009 13:18

I would like to nominate this for quote of the week, from LibrasBiscuitsofFortune:

"YOU WAITED UNTIL YOUR LO WAS 10 1/2 weeks? DO You not love your child? Are you trying to starve your daughter? I was shoving bits of brocoli and banana up my vagina when DS was 35 weeks gestation, when he came out he asked for a slice of carrot cake and cup of tea. NOW THAT'S WEANING PROPERLY."

But somehow I can't see MNHQ putting that on the front page! Made me roffle though

SurpriseInACracker · 18/12/2009 14:24

LOLOLOL. :D

This morning Evie managed to get into a tin of Miniature Heroes, unwrap a choc and shove the whole thing in her mouth while my back was turned. My dness did I freak out! Bad mummy!

SurpriseInACracker · 18/12/2009 14:42

dness - LOL. Evie on my lap pressing buttons!

Off to pick up the boys from their last day at school til New Year - yippeeeee!

HarkTheHerAuldAngelsSing · 18/12/2009 14:49

I am home.
Sun is out.
Snow has gone.
DS1 is hyper and annoying after being cooped up at home too long and after a day on his best behaviour for babysitter.

Sorry about all your bad news, ladies.

Boff, what were you thinking of, pumping BM in a spa, woman?

Will you all please, please stop talking about tonight's meet up, I am facing another night in alone as DH works till past midnight, and I am so extremely I may just explode.

Or I could do some ironing, some present wrapping, and watch an episode or two of House, I suppose.

HeiligFeierabend · 18/12/2009 15:27

ERrrrr, I have not read anyone's post, but can someone remind me what time we're meeting up please?

SurpriseInACracker · 18/12/2009 16:05

Says 8 pm on FB Have a lovely time x

BErriesBEllsandMOOnlight · 18/12/2009 16:47

I'm quite jealous of the snow and the fun. Hopefully in April I'll be able to have fun (and that snow will be that last things on our minds).
Took the car in to get fixed at 9.00 telling them that I needed it back at the latest by 2 (because otherwise Moo would not get a nap and things would be very very bad for her me). They said it definitely would not be later than 1, for sure. So I decided to get a ride into city centre and do a little shopping. Had a relaxing Starbucks first then wandered around doing my shopping.
Called them at 12 to see how it was going ...no one answered. Bought some new clothes for Moo.
Called at 1, no response. Sat down and had lunch in John Lewis.
Called at 2 no response. Cue screaming baby. Called DH asked him to call. After 3 talks with DH he's got a hold of them and they should be calling any minute to arrange pick up (2.44).
3.15 call from garage (and Moo's still fussing) we'll be there in 5.
Me: Are you sure because I don't want to be waiting out in the cold with my daughter...
Them: Yes Mrs. Baba (slightly annoyed voice)
Me: Bebe, Mrs. Bebe.
Them: sorry. Mrs. Bebe 5 minutes; I've sent the driver out already with your car.
Me: ok.
I potter around Lush for 10 minutes while the girls get Moo to stop crying (I buy a box of bath bombs- for myself) then go to where we're to be picked up (3.30)... no one. I take Moo out of her pushchair and entertain her and cuddle her close thinking it'll only be a moment surely...)
3.45 no one Moo and I dance around to Christmas music that is getting blown to us from Santa's grotto on a very cold wind.
4.00 no one (Moo is tired of the game and starts screaming again)
4.05 driver (boy who looks barely old enough to drive in the States let alone in the UK) screeches to a halt about as far away from us as he possible could have and still be considered to be stopping 'for us.' I struggle with the pushchair and bags and stroller. He sits in the car.
I walk over to the driver's door and say: I think I'll drive us back please.
Him: Oh. Ok. Does she always cry like that?
The thought of pummelling him occurs to me...
Me: When she's tired and not had a proper nap.
Takes me 10 minutes to drive back to garage ( I should have fucking walked back and would have it it wasn't such a convoluted route by pushchair through a not so nice part of Cardiff) during which time the guy tells me what they did to solve the problem we were having... luckily it's the new car so it cost us nothing. Him: you're good to go then (when we get there)
Me: Fine. Have a nice day.
Him: hopefully she stops crying soon.
Me: Yes. Hopefully.
Now we're home and Moo's calm again (she slept in the car -not long enough, but enough to put her back in a good mood), playing with her puzzle and chewing on Christmas cards from a stash she's hidden some where so she always seems to have one to hand mouth no matter how many I take away from her and toss in the recycling...
Someone shoot me.

BErriesBEllsandMOOnlight · 18/12/2009 16:49

and the fact that i typed that so quickly shows how truly upset I am

anyone have a spare cigarette?

BAUBLEnod · 18/12/2009 18:12

Oh bebe - sending big HUGS nutty stylee ((( )))

I've got to get my little man to bed now so that I can go and paint Kingston some sort of colour (not exactly sure I can manage red at this given moment)

p.s. Surprise really sorry x

Elfytigga · 18/12/2009 19:53

Gui can I suggest you don't buy from Agent Prov as the quality imnsho is crap. this guy is very good and cheap A bodice is the term for the part of the dress that covers the torso, a bustier is similar to a corset but stretches (corsets do not strech) - does that help?

Am V at you all going out to somewhere:

a) You'd like to go
b) with people you actually like

StompsFootWithAuldTiggaxx

GuimauveRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 18/12/2009 20:15

Don't worry Tig, not buying, just on the mailing list! And bodices v bustiers was just because of an advert (?Dove) that mentions them, and I thought "I bet Tigga could tell me the difference'

Sitting here waiting for someone with an iPhone to post what is going on, but noooooo, all too busy having fun, aren't you? Eh? Admit it! Bet you're all looking gorgeous. Wonder what's for dinner?

OddEyes · 18/12/2009 20:37

Very jealous of you ladies all meeting up. Hope you all enjoy!

Had such a lovely day today - went to the zoo. Twas so cold my feet are still frozen. Snow on the floor, blue skies, sun shining, no one about, all the animals cozying up so the kids were face to face with tigers, lions and the like. Lots of free festive stuff like face painting and so lovely watching the kids enjoying the animals.
I like fridays.

Suprise - no worries about chocolate i turned round yesterday cause I heard Elle sucking on something - twas the hoover. she had a big mouthful of hair and ... I am sure chocolate is much better. Elle not quite crawling yet but she can move across the room at speed with her combination of bottom shuffle, rolling and launching forward.

BErriesBEllsandMOOnlight · 18/12/2009 20:47

Zoo sounds lovely Odd

Sorry Surprise We've a friend who's mc Such a horrible time to have loss.

So what would you all like?

I will have a good evening. I will. Moo's in bed early again and I've got some rugby on...I will have a good night!
