Good morning and yay. Hazel slept through till 6.30! She did wake up at 5.15 but went back to sleep after a lot of shuffling. She obviously didn't dare cry

DD1 was also good and didn't shout for water once, although she woke up a few times coughing.

So I am in tonight!

WFH still keeping my fingers crossed for your mum xxx

Thanks everyone for replies re. schools, I am still getting my head round the system here. What happens after primary school - are there different forms of secondary school? In Germany you can go on to either Hauptschule, Realschule or Gymnasium depending on how well you've been doing at school and also depending on what kind of profession / career you are planning to go for - how does it work here?

HeiligFeierabend · 18/12/2009 08:38

Bicnod x posts, how funny that both our babies decided to have a good night for a change! Well done little Oscar.

BAUBLEnod · 18/12/2009 08:43

Yay Fei - our babies are clearly in cahoots party time tonight for us then... wooooooo hooooooooooo!

BAUBLEnod · 18/12/2009 09:25

Oooooooooooooooooooo - exciting - my secret santa parcel has arrived

GuimauveRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 18/12/2009 09:32

Oh dear. DH is stuck on motorway. Hasn't made it from J6 to J5 in two hours

SnowyBoff · 18/12/2009 10:03

Yikes! Went to spa at Center Parcs yesterday, but have left my breast pump, expressed milk, and portable fridge there, and now snowed up over here!!! Oh no!!!!

SnowyBoff · 18/12/2009 10:04

Feier, you go to whichever school condescends to give your kids a place according to the school admissions code. It is quite random in London.

If I were still down your way I would be thinking about the German School in Petersham tbh.

Hello

DH has just left for his uncles funeral. He had cancer for some time.

Holly is now attemptng to climb the stairs. How has this all happened so quickly? It seems like only yesterday that she was largely immobile.

Bebe - How are you today? I wish you could come tonight. Hopefully you can come to a meet up in April like Kingbeat suggested?

King - It made me laugh too, bonkers.
And yes, more teething here. We have five that have broken through and at least one more on the way.

WFH - Best wishes to your Mum. I hope the scan puts your minds at rest.

Poor DS1. Is this his daddy?

RudolphRocks · 18/12/2009 11:00

Fei - Hooray. See you later.
Yup, what Boff said. Unless you can afford to privately educate. Although being where you are, and having girls, I would highly recommend my old school. It's a grant maintained grammar. I don't know if there are many others about. There are a few other grammars in our area but they are fee payng.

Gui - Oh no. Where is he going? Can he abandon his trip?

GuimauveRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 18/12/2009 11:08

He's only going to work Puzzle. Has just arrived. Should have started at 8. And loads of other people haven't turned up, so chances are he'll be stuck there until late, depending on what jobs come in.

HarkTheHerAuldAngelsSing · 18/12/2009 11:37

fuckaduck
It is snowing. In Provence!!!!
I will NEVER get home from work, everything grinds to a halt here after just one flake, and it is really, really snowing.
It is lovely, though.

DS1 is with a babysitter I am paying a fortune to look after him...

A woke at 10 and took 2hrs to go back to sleep.
Then woke at 4.
He has a runny nose, I think he has DS1's evil cold, which may explain why he took 2 hrs to get back to sleep, as he is all stuffed up. I feel mean.
