Hmm might be a bit early for a festive thread title but thought we could get in the mood.

None of that tasteful two colour decoration scheme in my tent - oh no. The gawdier the better.

Wow Cyteen the food sounds fab.

sazzles what a nightmare you had. Hope you and dh have made up and the car isnt too badly damaged. what a bummer though.

Yes I did go singing cyteen it was great, but wan't feeling on top form.
I got lots of compliments and asked where I played professionaly.
they were quite shocked when I said I don't,and I hadn't done so for a year.
(was only the late night opening in my mums shop, which I did last year) It was heaving.

Both dcs in bed, sleeping soubdly inbetwwen hacking coughs.
At what point do I need a doctor visit?
Do they do anything for a cough?

Poor dd was sick for the first time ever on Thurs night(due to coughing I suspect) I felt rotten as she was crying for me and I thought I was dreaming. No idea how long she been sat covered in it by the time I woke and realised it was her. Still feel terrible now.

So she didnt eat friday, ate yesterday, but nothing today. I suppose this is normal???

I have a cough and af is here. Think maybe just run down tbh.

Sorry that was all me me me
very sorry.

Sazz don't worry too much about missing X Factor, it was so awful DP went to bed early saying he felt sick

no1 being run down is so rubbish, especially when the onset of winter and all the dreary weather doesn't help. I've been feeling that way too lately for similar reasons (viruses all round+heavy unexpected period) so bought myself a bottle of Floradix tonic (iron-rich vitamin stuff). It does seem to have perked me up somewhat. Although with the downside that I appear to be turning into my mother - have vivid memories of her forcing bro and I to have a spoonful and us spitting it out saying eurgh, yuk, we'll leave home before you give us that crap again. Now I can't get enough of it.

Re. DD's eating, I agree with Sazzles. It is crap when they don't eat, it goes right to the heart of you, but she will be okay. You know what a gutbucket my DS is but he hardly ate anything over the two weeks he was ill. Has been making up for it since though

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 29/11/2009 20:16

Thanks for advice re eating and coughing. Will phone doc in am.
Will check that tonic out. I think I could do with something to pick me up.
The horses get better looked after then me.lol

I need to be ok for out romantic mini break on Friday.

I have a child free morning tomorow to go shopping for summat to wear. Not in mood but only time to go as dh on nights this coming week. So only time I can leave them.)depending on docs)

CaptainCaveman · 29/11/2009 20:18

Cyteen I have to lol at Floradix, conjures up quite a picture in my minds eye. THink flowery willies

cyteen · 29/11/2009 20:24

CC how very dare you, don't you know I'm a propa laydee? [prim]

Am now cackling at the mental conjunction of flowery willies and perking up

no1 ooh shopping. I have got such a shopping fiend on at the moment. Just bought myself a pair of worky heels from Clarks online (have 25% off voucher that ends tonight if anyone wants it?), but I want MOAR CLOTHES dammit. You definitely have the perfect excuse for purchasing, what with the dirty romantic weekend and all.

Meant to say thanks to Sazz for advice re. cough as well, DS still hasn't shaken his off so think I will try and get him to the docs next week. His MMR appt came through at the weekend...it's on my birthday

PoinsettiaBouquets · 29/11/2009 20:54

Sazz Yes I should have just followed you and your satnav. As I'd forgotten to bring a map I thought I'd just retrace the directions from the AA routeplanner. Didn't allow for natural disasters and force majeur. But after much sitting in traffic I managed with a 10second sneak peek at a map in a garage and a lot of luck to find myself near Potters Bar eventually.

No1 Glad your gig went well.

miamla · 29/11/2009 21:04

oh bouquet..sorry you had such a shit journey

thanks all for the thanks, you're all welcome. i love cooking so it was a great opportunity to leave DS happily entertained whilst i was busy in the kitchen

miniSazz truly is a floozy but so lovely with it!

meetup bug warning
I'm pretty sure DS has caught what miniSteak had. He's been sick 7 (I think) times since 6pm. i'm now camped in his room on the floor in case he's sick again. i really hope not..we've run out of sheets and pjyamas between us. And the poor little mite hasn't got anything left in his tummy to be sick with
its going to be a long night, even if he doesn't wake, no chance i'm going to be able to sleep

oopsandbabycoconut · 29/11/2009 21:26

Evening all

Not really caught up - am off to bed in a bit. DD's 6.15 am starts are wearing me out and DH managed to have both lie ins he dissapeared at 6am saying he needed a few more hours and would be down at 7.30 and that was the last we saw of him until I lost my cool at 10am and sent DD in.

We had a bit of a scare on Thursday when I had a big bleed, when I rang the MW she said ring the doc (only the crappy rubbish doc was on triage) who kindly told me to take 2 paracetamol and if I m/c to go to A&E as I would need an op to 'clean me out'. I said MW wanted a scan and he said'Why? what good will that do?' So I stayed home and DH came home to lookafter me. Luckily I had a thyroid/obstetrics/MW appointment at the hospital on FRiday morning so I saw the MW who arranged for the consultant to scan me as I sobbed all over her. The consltant was amazing she instantly came in,scanned me and showed us Hector is well and the thinks it is the last of the 'bruise' on the edge of my placenta coming away. I have never been so paniced in my life. I have my 20wk scan at the beginning of Jan then they have arranged a 28 and 34 week scan too.

I am please sleepover went well and hope you are able to avoid ministeak's bug.

I am off to sleep.

Miamla - hope DS manages some sleep and the vomiting has now passed.

TwilightSurfer · 29/11/2009 21:37

Miamla

((hugs)) to Oops for all your worry. Pregnancy is soooo not daisies and fairy dust.

Reese is in my lap trying to put her toes on the keyboard. Will try to come back later when I can type properly.

oh Oops, how scary. i'm so pleased you've had scan and been reassured. i had loads of bleeding with DS, so i completely understand your panic

DS just been sick again

TwilightSurfer · 29/11/2009 22:50

Miamla I'd help you all night if I could.

RedLentil · 29/11/2009 22:56

Oh what a nightmare Oops.
Glad all is well, but a fright like that is awful.

I went on strike with work tonight and have sat with the new laptop checking out non-hideous wood-stoves and furniture to replace our weird living room when we renovate last year.

He is snoring loudly now though ..

miamla · 29/11/2009 23:02

DS been sick a couple more times so i'm still here and awake

red..it was so lovely meeting you on skype last night. good to finally put a face and voice to your name
Good for you for going on strike!

RedLentil · 29/11/2009 23:09

The obsessive hair-flicking isn't my normal way of carrying on by the way. The sight of my new fringe in the webcam totally freaked me out.

Miamla-sorry to hear the boy is sick. Not a restful night for you.

Dd2 came in to our bed at some point last night, slept for a bit after a few failed attempts to ambush daddy, and then fell asleep.

I wasn't asleep long when I was woken up by her fingernail ripping the skin off the inside of my left nostril. Blood everywhere, dh oblivious, though apparently he managed to hear me being very mildly exasperated with dd2 about 20 minutes later.

Fecking amazingly efficient alarm clock that one though.

DS did something similar at the same age. Defo defo no dc4 ...

miamla · 29/11/2009 23:19

can't say i noticed any hair flicking at all but that may have been due to the pimms

ouch to the gentle wakening methods in your household!

miamla · 29/11/2009 23:20

oh and forgot to say... how amazing would it be to dance with your DP/DH like this

although actually, an ex of mine was amazing dancer but that just wasn't enough despite me thinking it would be [shallow emoticon!]

miamla · 29/11/2009 23:22

i don't feel i can go to sleep, i'm worried i'm not going to wake up if he's sick again

TwilightSurfer · 30/11/2009 00:18

Miamla if you stay up and watch him it's okay. Remember sleep is for the week. He taught you well in the first months of his life so you are well prepared for tonight.

Red that's too funny about the hair flicking. I think my nose took up most of the camera when they chatted with me. I wonder what LWFH has to share about her call. The crazy ladies of Aug08!! LOL!!!

TwilightSurfer · 30/11/2009 00:19

is for the WEAK not WEEK! Goodness!!!!

miamla · 30/11/2009 00:32

lol TS, you're very true about DS training me for nights like this! i'm so pleased i'm off work tomorrow. DP and I both booked it as hols weeks ago!

lwfh realised she was slouching so corrected her posture! oh and we had some lovely smiles from her DS...oooh and we saw her bump she's a pregnant hairy trucker!

snotexpectingsnow · 30/11/2009 03:50

So glad the sleepover went well. Sorry to have missed the skype action but DS decided it was time to wake up at 4.45am and only managed to get him back to sleep before the time for our call and I didn't think I could subject you to my pjs - DH had gone on his last longish run before the marathon next week so wasn't able to step in and assist either. Other than that we've had a lovely long weekend together just the 3 of us now that injection side effects seem to have gone and DS isn't missing Grandma and Grandad any more.

Oops glad that the hospital were able to put your mind at rest at least - kind of nice to have some extra scans too IYKWIM.

Miamla hoping the power of sleep overcame the sickness bug.
