Wow I am amazed at W doing all that climbing Ronshar! I'm also glad that J hasn't worked out much about climbing yet His favourite thing is to open all the drawers on my dressing table and then shut them, often shutting his fingers in He also loves it if he can get through the stair gate before us and then bang it against the frame but not shutting it as if he does that it causes a tantrum! Star he also stands against it and rattles it like a caged animal. He's just found out he can climb the stairs though which is his latest thing. Twice today I was carrying him upstairs and he practically leapt out of my arms to get on them so now we've stopped carrying him up. I guess this is the start of climbing? I always shut the upstairs stair gate at night in case he does manage to climb out the cot.

CSWS- Sorry to hear that the musuems were so packed and therefore a waste of a visit. Still there are good shops in Covent Garden, or always used to be when I went there. Never venture in now. Actually it is terrible I've just realised J hasn't been into Central London yet He is destined to be a suburban boy.

Well we have put all J's presents out with his balloon and a playtent that MIL's friend sent. Dh now has 3 days off work but is feeling tired and has a sore throat which means he has been a grumpy sod tonight. Am so as I've been looking forward to getting everything sorted tonight and then tomorrow for so long and he has put me in a right foul mood. So I'm sitting in the dining room doing work and avoiding him. All day I've been wearing rose tinted glasses and thinking back over the past year and how great it's been but his mood has reminded me that for the past year he's been a miserable git Sorry rant over. Bloody men and I also hate writing d infront of dh on occassions like this so may well resort to ih in future (for idiot) Of course would like to use tor wh but am far too polite

Aubergenie- Good luck with the writing assessments. I used to find them so hard to level, we used Ros Wilson's marking scheme which was quite helpful. Thankfully I don't do them anymore but working out where the Nursery children are on the birth-5 developmental sheet is as big a headache!

London aquarium looks ACE!!! Ronshar, your post above did make me laugh As did your FB status update Star

Have just put some more pics on FB. Am up to 9 months now, determined to get up to date before her birthday(ish)! Only 5000 pics to get through for 9-10 months!!! DH's motto is why take one photo when 10 will do

Honeymoonmummy · 27/10/2009 22:14

X-posts Rachie, at your DH! My DH does that to me quite a lot too!!

Thanks Myjob and HMM- Ih seems to have cheered up a bit now and is doing some grovelling, I am still being . I'm sure he will be happier tomorrow, we're off to the zoo so if not I'm feeding him to a lion.

Honeymoonmummy · 27/10/2009 22:28

Ha ha! Awww be nice to him, just think how he was there for you this time last year during the labour...

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/10/2009 22:35

which zoo are you off to rachie? I can't remember where you are based sorry.

Happy Birthday J! Have a great day.

Well, I'm off into school to get all my assessments done and clear out my huge Cupboard of Doom. It's only November and already things are falling out when I open the door.

star6 · 28/10/2009 07:30

Oh rachie, I can totally relate. I like the IH instead of DH
maybe don't feed him to a lion, just let the lion take a little bite

Q has been climbing up and down stairs for ages. He could climb up stairs before he could walk (when he started crawling) - but still can't climb other things all that well, so don't worry - it doesn't always mean they will start climbing everything.
Q does try to get his leg up over the bath to get out (but can't manage it yet with his chunky thighs!) and he tries to get up on the coffee table (but... same problem)

Have fun at the zoo!

Jenwa - Q does the bending at the knees thing for dancing and if there's a very deep beat or if it's rap-like, he'll pump his hand (or hands) up and down like a proper rapper. It is quite funny. If he's sitting, he'll do bounces to the music using most of his body. I think it's hilarious.

Q's round and round and round trick is hilarious - but it's a bit like teaching a dog tricks. I told DH to teach him "sit" and "stay" today. That will be lifechanging

HMM - off to see your fb pics now

I'm sick. Was trying to ignore it but I'm so ill. Waves of nausea with a sore throat and congested head. Feeling really sorry for myself!

Q got up at 3am and finally slept for 30 more minutes at 4. So then we were up at 4.30am for the day. I honestly have NO IDEA how I used to get up at 4.30 every single morning and express milk for him. no clue. I must have been running on natural adrenaline or something...

I hope you don't get sick, too pistachio. Load up on the vitamin C

star6 · 28/10/2009 10:27

Hey can we have an Oct babies 08 postnatal xmas party? Would be so fun! Is there anywhere sort of in the middle of all of us that would work out? I would offer to host it, but in a 1 bed, I'm not so sure we'd fit more than one family with us . We could all squeeze in, but it would be shoulder to shoulder with little breathing space.... and imagine the mess

star6 · 28/10/2009 10:29

sorry if I've offended anyone. of course I meant to write christmas
My parents would have told me off for writing xmas, but dh and I aren't bothered. Apologies. I don't know what is done in the UK generally...

ronshar · 28/10/2009 10:37

AAARRRGGG keep your vomit up north please
Hope it stops soon Pistachio.

Star could you be?????????
Happy birthday J.

I was thinking along those lines Star. I have a house that could potentially fit us in. But no sitting down to eat in a formal manor. We could sit in the garden a la CSWS but I fear it is a bit too chilly now.
I am also at the other end of the country from everyone else! Other than that I am more than happy to have people over.

DH taken the girls to the cinema. I always miss out on the cinema trips as W took much of a fidget to sit through a film! The peace is heavenly though.

ronshar · 28/10/2009 10:39

Xmas, Chrimbo, Christmas, Chrisy any of those are acceptable in my world.

star6 · 28/10/2009 10:54

I'm in I'll come

No, not pg. I should be getting my period next week and DH and Q are both sick, so I do think it's similar to theirs. I'm actually becoming more and more certain that we will have just 1. I've treated motherhood as such since Q was born, really soaking up moments with him, enjoying little things, embracing it all, so I won't feel as though I've missed out iyswim. I'm not saying we'll feel differently in a few years - if we do, a 3 or 4 year age gap is fine with me, but for now, definitely just 1

star6 · 28/10/2009 10:58

sorry, I can't resist...... I'm horrible. I just have to do it....
manner

ronshar · 28/10/2009 11:01

Bugger. Caught out again.
I am always happy to be corrected Star. I try to get it right but I get it wrong more often than not.

star6 · 28/10/2009 12:43

Do most parents in the UK pay fees for school for primary and secondary school? Are state run schools really all that bad? I think I'll have Q at my international school anyway (provided he gets a free place!) but just wondering after reading threads on MN and all hte hysteria about moving to certain areas to get into certain schools...etc...??
