I was always convinced that dreams had some kind of hormonal link, as I always seemed to have a few days of really vivid, loopy dreams that I was able to remember really well around mid-cycle.

You could always try and induce a lucid dream (scroll down for some stuff on induction methods). In theory, you'd then be able to manipulate the dream and e.g. take Moo back from the people that won't let you see her.

loving it guys....oooh youre all a friendly bunch (offers vino and some nibbles around)

righty-o, Iris DD1 04/04/09. 7lb 7oz. Had fantastic pg, loved it hardly any comps and no sickness (sorry to guys that did) wanted to efb but had high bp during labour and after too.....kind of set me off on a mad hormonal, neurotic worrying kind of few weeks

after realising I just needed to get my baby fed and me to enjoy being a mum, i did just that. Iris then had colic, but reading baby whisperer and using some of the techniques we eventually got something going and at 6 weeks she started sleeping longer and longer.

Have started doing the weaning thing at 6 mo. Helped by my mum showing me how to do it when i stayed with her in spain for a holiday at her house (just iris and I, dp was working) and also how to get her into a routine, have been kinda winging it. my dp works late shifts, so really its been up to me, and before i was with my mum I used to let her show me her routine....last bottle around 8 sleep at 10 wake at 7 (tired emoticon)...was all fine when we came back, kept routine, but then she had a tooth break the surface and a slight virus and the routine went out of the window, back to square 1 and right back to basics with the feeding.

DD has always been a difficult feeder and it was nice to her my mum say it as well, had the feeling it was just me and something i was doing wrong that made her not want to eat (that boob or bottle or food)....

other than the food thing???.....loving it and her...amazing, best thing ever.....

Oh, also, King, if you go around feeling guilty about any aspects of motherhood, I'm afraid we enforce a strict policy of chocolate fines

I've done Dairy Milk and Hobnobs today after my weekend guilt!

aaahhhh the will explain all the malteasers then gui

kingbeat23 · 26/10/2009 18:57

that obv, not the!!

zombieBOO · 26/10/2009 19:02

Gui Abt your chocolate fines. I drank a chocolate milkshake because I was feeling guilty because of my dream...

I've tried to tell them(the others in my dream) that's it's just a dream and that I wouldn't have left her at 'x.' Doesn't usually work so I wake myself up. I feel like if I could figure out why I've been dreaming such things they'd stop. Dh suggested it's just that I'm anxious/stressed and so my dreams are putting in the 'worst case senario (sp?)' Interestingly enough I've also been dreaming abt Dh saying things like 'oh yeah Boo's been doing 'x' for ages' (for dreams where I've somehow missed part of Boo's growing up) or 'it'll be ok' and promptly ignoring me (when I try to get him to help me find/ get back Boo). Sigh. Maybe I should get a job, then such dreams would be justified.

AuldAlliance · 26/10/2009 19:02

Hello, Kingbeat!!
Welcome to the thread, which is a lovely haven on MN, away from the AIBU fights and dogmatic views on every aspect of motherhood. We all muddle through together.

Just off to get DS1 to bed. More soon...

zombieBOO · 26/10/2009 19:19

Gui I'm trying to find the bit abt you explaining what H went through with his uncomfortable poo... it was this thread wasn't it?

Boo's not poo'd all day (since mid day yesterday) which is very long for her. I'm wondering if that's part of our problem today.

Feierabend · 26/10/2009 19:23

Enjoyed your pregnancy? No complaints? At all? No nausea? Ah well some are lucky

I wonder what's become of some of the people on our list... Purplemonkeydishwasher, for example, or Mathsmummy, or Conker? They used to post a lot? I agree let's start a thread to try and lure them back.

AuldAlliance · 26/10/2009 19:23

A has not pooed since last Friday, apart from a pellet on Sat and one today.
Maybe the banana?
Am dreading it when it does come, it is going to hurt, I think.

zombieBOO · 26/10/2009 19:23

Ha found it...somehow I missed some pages in my earlier scan :P

Feierabend · 26/10/2009 19:23

Now where is that husband of mine, he's supposed to be cooking dinner!

AuldAlliance · 26/10/2009 19:25

I agree too about luring back the silent ones...
It is hard keeping up, though, especially if you are working. I only manage because I am a dosser work from home half the time. On uni days I struggle to get on here.

zombieBOO · 26/10/2009 19:36

Conker name changed..tho I cannot remember what to now. (at least I'm pretty sure she did)

But perhaps we should have a 6month reunion?

BEWiTcHEDnod · 26/10/2009 19:58

Stop hogging the wine Bebe

Gui - can't believe you ate all the twiglets

Hello King - welcome to this lovely thread - these ladies are a wonderful bunch

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AULD x x x x hope you're having a fab day...

Bebe - I have horrible nightmares about O as well. Usually I suddenly realise I don't have the monitor and he's miles away and I have to run to him and there are all sorts of obstacles to overcome to get to him (kind of like saturday night - that's how it felt anyway )

All ok in the Bicnod household today. DH was off work (in lieu of friday nightshift) and we went for a lovely leafy walk (a la MrsG) in beautiful Cannizaro Park, then had lunch in a pub, then met up with some friends for coffee. Now DH is cooking me dinner and we're about to watch a film. He's been trying to make up for being a pig's bum on my birthday and doing very well

O is six months old today - I can't believe it. My little bubba is not so little anymore.

Fei - I've been a bit braver with the weaning. Gave O rice cakes today and pitta bread which he loved. He's anti vegetables at the moment which is irritating as he would previously eat anything I gave him. He'll eat the plum baby food sachets but I can't afford to feed him with those exclusively!! Anyone got any tips on getting him to eat my purees again?

zombieBOO · 26/10/2009 20:14

sounds like lovely day wandering through leaves, pub lunch, cooked dinner mmmmmmm

Well poo's not coming not a problem here apparently.
Took diaper off to change (just wet) and then Boo started coughing... and guess what?

Yep
cough poo cough poo cough poo cough POO
What a lovely mess [grimace smiley]

kingbeat23 · 26/10/2009 20:43

Fei - actually, maybe i just blanked it out to be the "golden" days...did have nausea at start and end, had high bp, put on loads of weight, got called huge by people who dont know me (I work in a shop)....

now...?i am a self-deprecating (which by the way should, hopefully, only be fined by a maximum of a biscuit fine for excessive deprecation), excessive punctuator and slight guilt-ridden worrier.

You lot are very welcoming and supportive, nicer than another thread i posted on today re: annabel karmel where a MASSIVE argument is going on and I cant help thinking my sarcasm isnt going down too well!! , I stupidly went on it thinking I might get some advice about BLW and got caught up in lots of initials and a slagging match (can someone please tell me what up stands for!!)

banana should be in moderation Gui, i found this out to my detriment....DD managed to excessively poo all over my dad just before he was about to leave for a flight home!! he was very nice about it, but still!! i thought I was doing the right thing, everyone thinks bananas are the best baby food, but hey ho, i suppose thats why its called weaning and not eating!!

Feierabend · 26/10/2009 20:47

Ooooh I will steer well clear of the Annabel Karmel thread. Her toddler recipes are ace though.

Feierabend · 26/10/2009 20:50

Of course I've just had a peep and Zebramummy is so right!

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 26/10/2009 20:51

"cough poo cough poo cough poo cough POO" - Hilarious! I thought a bottom cough was a little more ethereal than that!

We went for a moderately leafy stroll to the post office, purchased a butter dish (I must point out that this was not a result of the butter dish thread - have switched to proper butter since weaning started!) and had a cuppa in a cafe!

Maths has been in a little, as has Conker.
After some sleuthing, have realised Purple became Tattybojangles, but she's not been on since August unless she namechanged again.

Ooh, I was looking at that AK thread this morning. Nearly posted in defence of Aitch as TSC was being a pain. Then decided I'm really not made for AIBU arguments, and Aitch is more than able to look after herself! I'm going to whizz back for a look though! I'm not a big fan of the enormous come-spend-your-money-on-unnecessary-crap machine that is the AK empire, though I imagine many of the recipes are lovely, but I do like the idea of saying 'I am Karmelising my baby'!

King - UP is 'Unconditional Parenting'.

Bebe - is there anything like Cadbury's mini eggs in the States?
