thanks
about to go to bed because things have been trying; maybe the bottle will help me sleep

there are candy coated choco eggs, the cadbury ones have a creamier?richer?softer? tasting coating. i.e. it not just like m&m coating why do you ask? now's not the season....

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 26/10/2009 21:11

Am planning to get a cake for my friends' wedding anniversary, and was wondering if there is a similar eggy product that I could ask them to put on top - they had bags of Mini Eggs as their favours.

Hi ... just seen Gui's post about missing April people so I thought I'd post. I was babypringle, now cakeforbrains (just fancied a change ). I've been lurking but the thread moves so fast that I struggle to keep up.
Oscar is now 7 months, he's the cutest, smiliest little thing. Actually, not so little, as he weighed 19lbs last time I had him weighed. He's been pretty laid back about milestones, so he's only just starting to sit up and we are taking solids really slowly. I'm still BF and he still wakes up 2 + times a night to feed. Otherwise life is mad - we have builders starting next week on our extension so we've been trying to get the house sorted.
Really good to see that everyone's babies are doing well .

zombieBOO · 26/10/2009 21:32

oh...cannot think of anything they'd have at this time of year...though there will be tons of candy out for halloween of course and it can vary from state to state what's available

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 26/10/2009 21:34

Hi Babycakeforpringlebrains!!! Good to see you. The threads do often go fast, but we love a little update now and again Crikey, an extension - how long are you expecting the builders to be with you?

OP posts:
zombieBOO · 26/10/2009 21:37

pringle/cake lovely to see you again
Stressful abt building/house sorting; good abt your sweet little/not so little O Don't worry abt keeping up with us; just post when you get a chance.

cakeforbrains · 26/10/2009 21:38

Like the combined name lol! Builders will be here for 10-12 weeks, which is a little scary. But at the end of it we will have a badly needed additional bedroom and a decent sized kitchen/dining/family room, rather than the pathetic and tiny kitchen we have at the moment. The build will go over Christmas, but we've just booked to go to Bosinver in Cornwall which I am soooooo looking forward to.

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 26/10/2009 21:45

Very nice! Cornwall appears to be the holiday destination of choice for April ladies. Where do you stand on the jam on cream/ cream on jam debate?

I have started a thread here for missing persons. Possibly should have done different title! If you guys could bump it around a bit now and again...thanks!

OP posts:
zombieBOO · 26/10/2009 21:46

Oh! I wanna Bosinver Holiday! Everyone seems to go to Cornwall but me

Looks lovely Cake. Will be a nice break I'm sure

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 26/10/2009 21:47

I thought you'd gone to bed?

OP posts:
cakeforbrains · 26/10/2009 21:47

no jam for me! spoils the cream! which is probably why I still have about a stone of preg weight to lose. I've just ordered the Davina DVDs from Amazon (as recommended on another thread) so I'm hoping that will help.

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 26/10/2009 21:49

No jam at all? . Interesting. Perhaps you need a spoon for your cream instead of a scone!

OP posts:
zombieBOO · 26/10/2009 21:51

I was going because Boo is asleep, but dh called just before I fed her and said he'd be online... but I do not see him.

I will go again if he's not around in another minute or so

cakeforbrains · 26/10/2009 21:52

We went to Cornwall in the summer as well. DH prefers savory food to sweet, so we had lots of Cornish pasties but not a single cream tea . This time I'm putting my foot down!

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 26/10/2009 21:55

Ooooh, look! BonsoirAnna vs scottishmummy - that could get really interesting!

Mmmmmmmmmmm, pasty..........

OP posts:
zombieBOO · 26/10/2009 21:56

I've yet to have a cream tea...does this mean it comes with a scone? I like my tea with a nice big slice of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting mmmm

getting myself hungry

zombieBOO · 26/10/2009 22:00

Geez I saw that thread when it started and thought it was finished after about 20 replies!! Touchy subject.

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 26/10/2009 22:04

Yup, a cream tea = tea with scones, butter/ cream/ jam. If When you go to Cornwall you must have one!

OP posts:
kingbeat23 · 26/10/2009 22:05

cor, i love the aibu threads, good to see such venting of emotions going on, and in such an eloquent (sp?) manner too!!

zombieBOO · 26/10/2009 22:05

I'm a 'kept' woman now and was for a 3 years...

kingbeat23 · 26/10/2009 22:11

no need to blush zombie, im going back to work in january and not looking forward to it tbh, if my dp's wage could subsidise us all i would stay at home too, i love being with her....surely it is all about how happy and wonderful you feel???

I have had to fight to get my flexible workng application and have just got a nice nursery but it will be a struggle and am wondering if it will be as rosy as i think it might be finance-wise....perhaps that's where all the nightmares have been coming from?? (honest, one night i had 3 in one night)

Vis-a-vis scones btw, cream then jam....tea very strong, milk in last! mmmmm cream teas....making me hungry again!

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 26/10/2009 22:12

Actually, it's the intelligence of most posters that puts me off posting! I just want to say 'Oooooh, I'd love to be a SAHM, I'd eat cake all day, work is booooooorrrrring', whilst everyone else starts quoting feminist literature, economic inequalities etc. I'm not really cut out for serious debate. I'm more of a person!

God I'd love to be a kept woman. When people asked me what I do, I'd shout, gleefully 'I'M A KEPT WOMAN!!!!' , and do a little jig.

OP posts:
Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 26/10/2009 22:13

Milk in last, yy, but jam first (no West Country credentials though).

OP posts:
zombieBOO · 26/10/2009 22:19

The great thing abt being a liberated woman is that you can CHOOSE That's what being liberated is...you can choose whether to work; how hard to work and whether you want to be the boss.
There are of course things that factor into the decisions we have make, but we can chose now when before we couldn't.

But I'm to bed now (even tho dh just signed on) one of the not nice things abt being a kept woman...my keeper's not around enough

BEWiTcHEDnod · 26/10/2009 22:19

cakeypringlelady - I was thinking oooooooooooooooo you are me (my son is Oscar and I love Cornwall) but then you said no JAM on your SCONE.

I am shocked. SHOCKED. SHOCKED.

Bad bad bad and wrong.
