PuzzleRocks · 04/11/2009 12:09

But yes you do. And crumbs and it's delicious.

PuzzleRocks · 04/11/2009 12:14

I bet my boobs are worse than yours. Holly only feeds on left right side now so the right has completely deflated and is several cup sizes smaller.
When I leave the house I wear a fillet on one side.
I hope they will even out when i'm done feeding. But considering Ellen had her last breastfeed only two weeks ago (pauses to listen for gasps) that may be some time.
I shall be buying new ones regardless.

Feierabend · 04/11/2009 12:42

You were a tandem feeder and kept quiet about it!

Could Ellen not have kept the right breast going?

How could anyone have tea without milk?

Gui did you eat ALL that this morning?

SpringyShouldBeWorking · 04/11/2009 12:45

Fourth on the list Gui? Really? Fourth? I'm hurt.

Is it cheating too much to just read Puzzle's catch up & get the gist of what's going on? I have an essay to do for tomorrow that I've not even started - do I get a free pass?

We've all been ill in one form or another (George had swine flu & was teething at the same time. Joy.) & it's been complete madness with 4 assignments on the go. I haven't yet submitted anything late & I'm hoping not to start tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

So, because I can't catch up right now - how have you all been?

(You must answer or I may have to do my reading about stone tools )

SpringyShouldBeWorking · 04/11/2009 12:51

I can't believe some of you still don't have your periods! No wonder I steer clear of this place

Gui, I have a mooncup. Every month I'm a bit 'eugh' about it & start off on tampons. Then I remember that I'd rather not spend hundreds of pounds on sanitary wear & switch to my mooncup - & then become a complete convert all over again & wonder why I didn't just start using it in the first place. Every. Month.

It's especially good because you can use it for even the lightest of flow without that weird cotton-wool feeling in your fanjo from a tampon that's too absorbent, & you don't have a string dangling out of you / it doesn't creep out a little when you go to the toilet & get full of wee & have to be changed too soon. Although that last bit may just be me & my horrific pelvic floor these days

Don't even get me started on boobs

Feierabend · 04/11/2009 13:01

I don't want my periods to come back, ever. Actually I seem to have heard and read that people have got pg on Cerazette... anyone else heard this?

surprisenumber3 · 04/11/2009 13:08

Ladies, I feel so exhausted. I worked till 11 pm last night, then got to bed at 12. E woke at 12.15, back for 1 am. She woke again at 3.50 and decided she either wanted to feed or play until the boys got up. I got up at 7 am and shouted at DH that if he wasn't taking the boys to school today then they wouldn't be going as my eyes can't see to drive! He shouldn't have really taken them for me as it meant he got in late to work

Me and E fell asleep about 9.30 am only for the phone to start ringing and then she was awake again. She has pretty much wanted BFing since she woke and has only just fallen back to sleep. I feel like my milk has dried up, I have tried for 3 hours to try and get her to have a sippy cup/bottle/spoon feed milk this morning but she just hates it and throws it on the floor.

Am really struggling What happened to my baby who slept 8 pm til 8 am for the first 26 weeks??!!

SpringyShouldBeWorking · 04/11/2009 13:09

Fei, I've heard it, but I don't know how much more of a risk it is than with anything else, really. I was on microgynon when I got pregnant, so...

I have the implant now & I'm getting on really well with it, actually. I like not having to think about taking it & that it should keep me pregnancy-free until I finish my course. I think the main problem with the pills lies in not taking them at exactly the right time of the day every day, IYSWIM. I think that's where they become unreliable.

SpringyShouldBeWorking · 04/11/2009 13:12

surprise I hate when the phone goes just as you drift off! So annoying.

Is it comfort sucking do you think? Like for teething? Or is she genuinely hungry?

surprisenumber3 · 04/11/2009 13:16

Hi springy, nice to see you back here

It is comfort primarily I think, she won't have a dummy etc, and she is teething and her eczema on her chest is driving her (and me) mad, but we are off to docs about that again later. She is also teething.
But she also must be hungry.

I have so much to do today, pick kids up from school, take DS1 to docs, then DS2 to a party, stay and watch, then leave early and take E to docs. DH not back til 8 pm. Oh great, now it's pouring down and Ive just put all our bed sheets out

SpringyShouldBeWorking · 04/11/2009 13:24

I know this sounds really obvious, but have you given her some paracetamol? Sometimes that's the only thing that settles George when he's in pain - even with the comfort sucking he's still not calm. I'm not sure about the eczema though, sorry I hope the doctor has something useful to suggest.

It's a shame that such a long day coincides with such a bad night, but hopefully you'll be able to stop all but BFing at 8, E will sleep much better & you'll wake up tomorrow feeling positively refreshed in comparison. Fingers crossed for you...

surprisenumber3 · 04/11/2009 13:31

thanks Springy, just feel a bit low today. It's only cos of lack of sleep really though, oh and because inlaws have decided not to come to E's christening because 'they don't like church'!!!

I gave her some Paracetamol a couple of days ago, and I think I might be inclined to do so this before she goes down this evening. She had steroid cream last week which cleared the eczema up but it has flared up again now and I'm not sure whether I can use it again so soon, was told only to use for 2-3 days. I have to work when DH home but only for an hour tonight

WheeeFreshSparkleBang · 04/11/2009 14:44

poor you surprise, if it helps at all Orbit was exactly like this when we were on holiday, just wanted to suck ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT and cried inconsolably a lot of the time. I think it was his top teeth, plus a six month growth spurt. It did stop though after ten days or so, and since then he's fed a lot less often than before the madness started. You will survive, and it will stop being so crazy, I promise!

Gui I am a Mooncup user too and love it. Much better than those 'orrible cotton wooly things that always feel like they're shedding fibres inside you. And far cheaper!

Springy no period here yet either. Hope I'm not pregnant...

Poor Orbit really suffering still with these top teeth either side of the front ones. They seem to be taking ages to get through, and at lunch today he was just inconsolable, had to be put to bed with boob and Calpol. He is also dribbling for britain, it's like Niagara Falls on his chin.

GUYmauve · 04/11/2009 14:58

Aww, Springy, I was just lashing out at you, I felt shunned.... I always found I produced my best coursework when I left it until the last minute.

I clonked H's noggin against the ceiling light earlier, in an over-zealous flinging-in-the-air He wasn't best pleased.

I think we may have had an eating-in-the-highchair breakthrough. Today he realised that he can reach out and grab things, rather than having to bring his face to the tray Plus, I do believe I saw a hint of a pincer grip

Surprise, FWIW, I would definitely use the steroid cream again. I used it on H for >2-3 days for just a heat rash. Are you using plenty of aqueous cream/ e45/ something similar? Very at your ILs on your behalf - I'm not a churchgoer, but if there is a christening/ wedding/ funeral to go to, I still go along, sing the hymns if I know them etc.

GunpowderGUIMAUVEandPlot · 04/11/2009 14:59

Do I prefer this?

TeethingpowderWeaningAndPlop · 04/11/2009 15:00

Or this?

GunpowderGUIMAUVEandPlot · 04/11/2009 15:02

Nope, that one's too long.

kingbangwoosh23 · 04/11/2009 16:31

Fei - have you read the thread re: depression in cerazette, but agree with Springy that it's a time of day and how you take it thing. Am pill free and loving it as I find added hormones make me even more mad than usual...am thinking of getting the non-hormonal coil fitted as my DP is convinced that the withdrawal method is a form of birth control !

Iris not sleeping either, so maybe a moon thing, maybe a growth spurt, maybe a teething thing or maybe a way to make me sleep deprived..who knows

SpringyShouldBeWorking · 04/11/2009 17:12

Gui, I was on the bed with George yesterday morning & I dozed off without realising. I woke up when I heard him hit the floor You know you feel better about the light / head incident now Shame your TeethingpowderWeaningAndPlop name doesn't fit!

& yeah, about surprise's ILs - it IS really rude. I'm not at all religious, but would always attend events in a religious environment if they were of importance to my family. If you don't want to say the prayers / sing the hymns that's up to you - just maintain a respectful silence in that case. There's no reason to simply not go, especially if they'd go for a wedding / funeral as Gui says.

WFH, even though I've been having periods since they overlapped with my lochia I still panic that I'm pregnant every time I feel a bit of wind moving in my tummy. Even though the longest it's been since I last had a period was 3 or 4 weeks & that's clearly nowhere near long enough to be pregnant to the point of feeling movement I still get convinced

THIS ESSAY IS SO BORING. It's an archaeology module (don't ask) which is generally good, but oh my... 'Who made the earliest (Oldowan) stone tools in Africa, and why?' I really couldn't care less right now. & the journal articles are so unbelievably obtuse.

GunpowderGUIMAUVEandPlot · 04/11/2009 17:29

Who? - Dave Oldowan
Why? - because he wanted to kill stuff/ chop stuff up

I keep leaving H on the bed in the hope that Sod's Law will induce him to begin rolling while I'm out of the room!

kazkisswooshh · 04/11/2009 18:53

wanders back out again...>>>

Feierabend · 04/11/2009 19:50

Oh I know why I wanted to cry earlier... Hazel did 3 days' worth of poo in one nappy, just before bedtime. I swear I have never seen so much poo in my life. DD1 was in the middle of putting her PJs on but not quite there, and she can't do it on her own just yet, but I had to deal with Hazel first and run an emergency bath and ended up shouting at DD1, who hid under her duvet because clearly mummy was going nuts. And just as the chaos was at its worst - wee all over the changing mat, half naked DD1 sulking, dirty clothes all over the floor, poo on the changing table, you get the picture - DH walked in. So I shouted a few orders at him

Surprise, have some more chocolate. Poor you, your day sounds like a complete nightmare. Hope the doc had something useful to say re. E's eczema and your ILs, that's just not on can you get DH to talk to them?

mrsgBANGing · 04/11/2009 20:10

hello

Hugs to all that need them - Fei, Surprise, Gui/Guy, Bronze, Springy et al.

Spent the morning in A&E with DS1 - he's okay just got a horrid tummy bug and threw up suspicious coloured vomit and we were advised (by pandemic flu service as we thought he might have SF) to dial 999. Feel a proper drama queen over the whole thing, but DS1 is okay which is the main thing.

Now to try out the new Biscuit emoticon

Hmm I like that, think I'll have several:

Should be more purposeful

Feierabend · 04/11/2009 20:12

Oh I am fine, I've got my pint

Bicnod · 04/11/2009 20:18

MrsG poor you, poor DS1... so did you have flashing lights and everything? Glad he's ok. Like your immediate overindulgence in biscuit emoticon - I think it just about sums up this thread

Suprise - sorry you're having such a rubbish time your inlaws are so out of order. I agree with Fei - get your DH to explain how important it is for them to be there. Inlaws are poo - my MIL came to O's christening on Sunday but sat in the corner looking po-faced the entire time, didn't offer to help with any of the tea pouring/cake serving afterwards and was a generally miserable cow - so might be preferable not to have them there if they are anything like her.

Springy - I'm still in awe (and a little bit ) of your studying with 6 month old.

Gui - I bash O's head on the bathroom doorframe almost everytime I go in there with him on my hip. No spacial (or spatial??) awareness as my dad would say.

Right. Banana bread in the oven, baby in the bed (teething like a banshee today - i'm sure banshees must teeth pretty badly), DH in the pub, cold custard straight from the can for me

(just wanted to try it)
