Oh Bebe, I didn't realise the biting was that bad No advice from here I'm afraid as H is still a toothless wonder. Have you searched for threads on it for advice?

Gui - it is a myth. I am convinced.

Is anyone else watching this morning with the little boy who hated the Halloween outfit they put him in - brilliant!

WhatFreshBLOODIsThis · 30/10/2009 11:37

Hey BB Orbit bit me on and off for a few weeks, but he's stopped now. Is it linked to teething do you think or is he being a monkey? Kellymom has a page on it here linky

Nothing really made a difference with Orbit, he just stopped when those teeth came through.

zombieBOO · 30/10/2009 11:40

Mom did tell me if you use your 'loud' voice when they bite and tell them no, they can learn... but not sure because Boo does it often without meaning to so is it really fair to yell?

BabyBolat · 30/10/2009 12:00

Thanks WFH - am hoping it's just his top teeth coming through. It's more with the latch on as soon as he feels it he bites and believe me that boy has a strong jaw - the most painful bit is trying to get him off! I think it's a bit of both as he doesn't do it in the night time just in the day time.

Anyway, we will see how it goes! He is currently sleeping on DH so I have some peace! yay!

NuttSlasher · 30/10/2009 12:03

gui not a myth unfortunately tiahna sleeps 6.30pm to 7.30 am xxx it will happen

NuttSlasher · 30/10/2009 12:09

Gingersarah here, in hallowe'en costume.

(Thanks everyone for the instructions!)

Sorry to hear about all the biting. V has no teeth so that all lies ahead. I can see her being a tuff little biter though.

Welcome back to all the old faces and welcome to kingbeat.

We have finally embarked on the Food adventure, apparently much later than anyone in real life (just a couple of days earlier than the magic 6 months mark). Babies born long after V have been dutifully absorbing their little pots of mush and I think they thought I was weird, like those mothers who dress their mortified 13 year olds in frilly Violet Elizabeth Bott dresses. So far V has earnestly munched on: parsnip, carrot, cucumber, banana, broccoli, pear, sweet potato. Some it seems to go missing, I think. Anyway her poo has gone different.

It seems as if I will be very soon going back to work. This is freaking me out - I can't imagine how it will work. We are on a pretty leisurely routine here at the moment that is a far cry from catching trains before 8 am.

Nutty did you get my email? I am in the Secret Santa - if you didn't get it I will re-send.

Feierabend · 30/10/2009 13:14

Good afternoon. Have lots to catch up on but can I just ask... has anyone else got CONSTANT backache?

FleshEatingZombieFish · 30/10/2009 13:18

just popping in to try out my halloween name but going off in a sulk after hearing about Tiahna's 13 hour sleeps

Feierabend · 30/10/2009 13:29

13 hour sleeps now that IS an extreme case but I do know lots of babies and toddlers who sleep 12 hours every night, plus a 2 hour lunchtime nap. Not all of them do though - I think it's reasonable to expect 10 hours though.

FleshEatingZombieFish · 30/10/2009 13:30

Feier yes permanent backache. Looking forward to the weekend when all child lifting and carrying duties can be delegated to DH,

Chortling lots at the thought of adolescent V in Violet Elizabeth Bott dresses. And then having a guilty snigger at the thought of putting my son in one too. .

If S isn't twirling a pink feathet boa down Old Compton Street in 20 years time it won't be for lack of mummy dressing him as a girl.

WhatFreshBLOODIsThis · 30/10/2009 13:31

yep, backache over here Feier! About a third of the way down my back, just below my shoulders. Think it's from bending and lifting Orbit constantly, plus a heavy three year old, plus feeding in a bad position.

Where's yours? If it's the same place, try looking at how you're feeding, you might be hunching over the baby.

FleshEatingZombieFish · 30/10/2009 13:32

DD has never slept the magic 12 except once at 9 months when she was ill. These days she is in her room from 6:30 - 6:30 but usuallly only actually sleeps for around 10 hours max.

Feierabend · 30/10/2009 13:32

Bicnod I got your message, just couldn't be bothered to log on to FB, sorry. We're happy to come to yours.

Drinks were fun but I didn't get to bed until 11.30pm and feel verrrrrrry tired today.

WhatFreshBLOODIsThis · 30/10/2009 13:32

Orbit was up for an hour the other night at about 11pm as DP had just arrived home, and went up to him when we woke and ended up playing with him for 45 mns while his Calpol kicked in as he hadn't seen him for a few days.

So last night, we go to bed about 10.45, just settling down to turn the light off, and a small noise is heard from the cot. Look over and Orbit has eyes wide open and beaming at me, ready for his 11pm playtime!

Hmph. Need to nip this in the bud.

Feierabend · 30/10/2009 13:36

All over my back WFH. It's the lifting, carrying, bending down to pick up toys / children / dirty laundry / food. Constant getting up from my chair to run into the kitchen when DD1 demands more pear / raisins / milk / rice cakes. I'll try to go for a swim at the WE, that usually helps. In an ideal world, I'd have a massage every day

Feierabend · 30/10/2009 13:37

But I am glad I am not the only one!

zombieBOO · 30/10/2009 13:37

Nutty how's the lo's? Still got a little vomiter? I used to hate it when my kid sister was sick (tho I got to stay home from school to take care of her sometimes). Little one's hardly make it to the toilet in time. Hope it's not too stressful for you.

So far we're doin much better with the teething. We've kept up with the calpol and ibu mix and are not half as touchy today Plus I'm making her walk to each room I'm trying to tidy (takes a long time to get there, but) then I put her in a clean-ish spot with a few toys and tidy around her while singing and playing peek a boo and generally making a fool of myself. (I am so tired) She's taking a nap now. If I'm lucky it might be an hour...

WhatFreshBLOODIsThis · 30/10/2009 13:41

Fei one of DP's clients is a chiropractor and says that often women's backs and pelvises are out of alignment after giving birth and it can cause constant backache. Could be worth going to see someone to see if something just needs realigning? He did me after DS1 was born and it did make a big difference. Haven't got round to going again though

FleshEatingZombieFish · 30/10/2009 13:43

'walk'!?!

Is Boo a child prodigy? My baby has only just graduated from foot chewing (no doubt prompted by the arrival of razor sharp teeth) to rolling.

kingbeat23 · 30/10/2009 14:08

Does anybody have any advice on getting extra liquid into DD?? Shes bottle fed and eats solids, but unfortunately, her poo is just that...solid ....little lamb is now starting to cry when she poo's and if i try and give her water from a sippcup thingy or bottle she looks at me as if ive gone mad!!

Boo...walking???wowzers!

zombieBOO · 30/10/2009 14:09

When I say walk... I mean I hold her hands and she 'walks.' She's not walking by herself. I'm trying to find a walker/push cart for her so she can perhaps practise a little without Mommy holding on just hovering around her (because there's nothing like 20min of walking her around the house to give me a sore back) But I cannot seem to find any with brakes which are cheap And dh is not sure if the Brio one that I like (toddler wobbler) which does has brakes will actually work.
