lol

AuldAlliance · 29/10/2009 17:50

help, I have baby brain.
What do I need to take for me & A, for a trip lasting 4 days and involving the same number of planes?
Any handy ideas?

bebe, A is having a hard time, too, he barely slept at the CM's and crashed out at 5:30pm. I don't know if he is out for the night, and what awful time he is going to wake up if he has. He is still fully dressed.

AuldAlliance · 29/10/2009 18:11

do I need to take the rain cover for the pushchair?

AuldAlliance · 29/10/2009 18:13

oh no! heavy rain on Sunday

kingbeat23 · 29/10/2009 18:40

Auld, are you taking 4 planes over the space of 4 days?? if so how long are you going to be flying for? Bothered about Access to a washing machine?? 4 days worth of vests and babygros?? I traveled by plane with DD on my own at the beginning of this month, had her in baby gros, looks sweet and easier to change. Pack for rain. I kept the rain cover in the basket on the bottom, just in case. And then anything else you would normally take with you to travel/go and visit a friend with.

She ate the home cooked food yay!! now all we have to do is convince her that water is a good idea and home free (well, sort of)

AuldAlliance · 29/10/2009 19:03

Kingbeat, the flights aren't v long, 2hrs each maxi.
Two connecting flights tomorrow, then one Sunday morning and another Monday morning.
Good idea re babygros, saves faffing. Thanks!
Am wondering whether Easyjet will let me get away with pushing A in his pushchair right to the plane, given that you have to have the car seat bit on the base for him to be able to sit in it. Pushchair base & car seat, two items not one...bet they charge me a fortune for it!

hi Nutty, how's life?

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 29/10/2009 19:03

Ho ho ho!

Nutts - Kingbeat is brand new, not a namechanger. Good luck with the house o' kids. Are you doing hallowe'en stuff with them?

AuldAlliance · 29/10/2009 19:05

P.S. yes, access to washing machine (and tumble dryer, ooh the luxury of it!), at least till Sat night.

Feierabend · 29/10/2009 19:49

Auld don't forget the sling. If they make you give up the pushchair & car seat at check in, at least you have something to carry A in. Have a safe journey!

Off for drinks with some of the nursery mums, hurrah.

kingbeat23 · 29/10/2009 20:16

Ok, then if you can really be bothered with washing, then dont take alot of vests and gros with you. just have a chnage in the change bag for accidents. Easyjet are fab with babies and they let you go either to the door of the plane if you are going by the airtunnel or to the foot of the plane if you go down the stairs. Instead of taking the carseat, I took a sling...hooked myself up to it before boarding, wheeled her to the door and hey presto handsfree flying!!! the only thing is they make you sit the baby out of the sling and seatbelted on your lap ( I managed only the landing when I got to Spain with her in the sling and belted in). If you can manage without the carseat, then advised. If not, check it in with your bags, no point in having it with you. No room for it even if you have paid good money for a seat for A.

No point paying for the Speedy boarding either as you will be priority boarding anyhow. Easyjet are very good with babies as I said before, and also handy tip. Sit on the aisle, then at least you know that you will be sitting next to people who dont mind babies, way out was with a nurse and way back was with a family social worker specialising in babies!!!! plus I found everyone really helpful as well.

So really, 6 gros..6 vests...3 trousers....3 tshirts...thats about it!!

AuldAlliance · 29/10/2009 20:23

Great tips, thanks!

A slept soundly from 5:30 till 9 and is now awake and very lively. I, on the other hand, was running a bath and preparing to unwind and go to bed.

BEWiTcHEDnod · 29/10/2009 20:34

Bebe - how is Moo now? Teething is horrible. Oscar's have settled down for now but when his bottom two were coming through he was on at least one dose of calpol a night for a few weeks, sometimes calpol and ibuprofen

Auld - Bet it won't be as bad as you think it will... everyone I've spoken to who has flown with wee babbits has said it was ok in the end... fingers crossed for you.

Trista welcome back!

Fei - did you get my fb message about thurs? (don't know how often you check it). Have fun with drinkies tonight...

Kingbeat - hurrah for eating homemade purees... O is doing well as well... I think its the temperature that was the issue, he likes his food stone cold. Babies are weird.

VERY excited - Lost Season Five landed on my doormat today... DH and I are going to watch the first one on the laptop in bed tonight... yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

By the way - O is being baptised on Sunday and I'm not in the least bit stressed. Is that bad?

BEWiTcHEDnod · 29/10/2009 20:34
zombieBOO · 29/10/2009 20:50

Well I've got her asleep on my bed again after having another bath (they at least are distracting her). Water bill can be sky high as long as I get a little peace or I'll end up chucking her out the window. She's had ibu and calpol and I've got another dose of both I can give her if she happens to wake up 2 more times this evening. It's very bad this time. If I even look at her funny she goes ballistic. I cannot leave the room without 10 minutes of uncontrolled tears (on her part) and lots of wiggly, squirmy, let me down, don't put me down, I want to walk, I want to sit, can I feed? I don't want to feed... Until I put her down in exasperation and have to walk away.
I'm hoping that the time difference will mean she'll stay sleeping (she did last night).

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 29/10/2009 20:59

Blimey bebe, I think putting her down in a completely different time zone was a bit excessive
