No it's not all icing on the top its sponge and then you just coat the top with icing! yum yum yum yum yum

BabyBolat · 29/10/2009 10:33

My mum has all of those she makes professional cakes with the icing flowers etc - thankfully she saved me £400 by making my wedding cake!

BEWiTcHEDnod · 29/10/2009 10:36

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah ok... that makes more sense...

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yum scrum

BoffMonster · 29/10/2009 10:44

Thanks for chocolate Gui!

I want a presidential shower!! And a motorcade!!

kingbeat23 · 29/10/2009 10:44

oooh that looks lovely, now all i need to do is learn how to bake!!!

and Gui, how dare you bring humour into an AIBU thread...shame on you!!! !

Feierabend · 29/10/2009 10:50

I am currently on an AIBU about sleep training. What AM I thinking?

AuldAlliance · 29/10/2009 10:55

Gui,
I have to read the damn thing, very carefully as I am to be on the panel at the viva at the end of next month.
Hence references to things being wonky; the colleague who was meant to do it dropped out last week because he is going to have lunch with a has-been politician instead. So the candidate has lost a very prestigious name for her panel (important after if you want a job here in France) and got unknown muggins instead. I didn't feel I could say no, but am fuming and terrified of cocking up, as I know so little about the topic.

Boff, you are right. We all deserve motorcades and expensive showers. I'll get onto it right away, after all this is the land of "les droits de l'homme". Or d'you think that excludes women from the right to expensive showers?

How fancy can a shower get?
And which is more extravagant, 75 euros on tights or 250,000 quid on a shower?

Argh, back to my close reading...

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 29/10/2009 11:02

It's not even an AIBU, King, it's in food! I nearly suggested that he should repost in AIBU for more entertaining responses but I didn't dare

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 29/10/2009 11:11

You are very brave, Feier, but it all seems quite reasoned over there for now! I have found that I have naturally migrated into being a bit of a continuum mother, and I'm dreading what will happen when I go back to work and we need more routine.

Interestingly, H slept for a long period overnight on Tuesday, and then slept lots the following day, but woke loads last night and today is full of beans and won't nap! What's that all about? Am I right in thinking that it's the lighter REM sleep that is most 'refreshing'?

OP posts:
Feierabend · 29/10/2009 11:17

Of course Gui, what will happen is that H will still wake up in the night at 11 months old - just to punish me for posting on that thread

Oh god.

BabyBolat · 29/10/2009 11:21

Gui - I am really struggling with a routine - working I have none, I eat drink, sleep when I can and as a baby K just did his own thing and kind of fitted in with me. This getting into a routine thing is really hard for me - I might have to make a list!

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 29/10/2009 11:33

I love making lists....means you don't have to do anything.

I can just imagine going into the nursery and saying 'Well, sometimes he has breakfast around 8, then a nap, but sometimes he sleeps through and has breakfast at 10. He sometimes has a nap about 11, though sometimes he doesn't. He falls asleep for an afternoon nap at some point between 12 and 2pm, and will sleep for anything from 30mins to 3 1/2 hours, so lunch is at some point between, say, 1pm and 4pm. And then he might have a short nap around 4, but it might be closer to 5'. I imagine, actually, he'll be somewhat 'forced' into a routine there, but that makes me feel quite bad.

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 29/10/2009 11:50

No, thought draw was Saturday? Hurry hurry hurry! Also, just to say abut the cost issue, it doesn't need to be expensive, £10 is the maximum, not the required spend. Whoever I get will be very lucky if they don't get a jar of homemade jam and a crocheted tea cosy!

kingbeat23 · 29/10/2009 12:25

Oh i just thought by the range of replies and the sort of replies it was an AIBU thread!!! live and learn eh??? Having said that though, how about copy and pasting it into one and see what kind of response you get...

As for routines, routine..shmootine..if it works for you then great. I take it alot of you are BF? Thats alot of tough work (I bottle fed, and have only now seen how relatively easy ive had it so far, after a lot of guilt and much chocolate eating on my part!). I bottle feed and DD still wakes up in the night at least once, but that's generally due to her having wiggled up to the top of the cot and has her head at 90 degrees to her body. I do find the sleeping bags help and having the right amount of solid food going has helped too.

Talking of which.....day one of trying to get her to eat some of my food instead of the packet stuff, am currently making beef stew (a la Ella's - minus the packet) and have defrosted my freezer in anticipation of DD loving my food so much that i will be a cooking machine much in the style of stepford wife, AK! I'll let you all know how it goes!

BabyBolat · 29/10/2009 12:42

Ha if you get me feel free to bake something!!!

HA - King I did the same and have to date cooked zilch to store and Kara loves food (hates jars) - hope you have more luck than me.

Hey tigga

BabyBolat · 29/10/2009 12:44

I made this for DH last night - its us, K, his brother and best friend - still makes me giggle!

Feierabend · 29/10/2009 12:58

Well, Anna fans, they are all having a go at her on the SAHM thread...

Nice e card BB

BabyBolat · 29/10/2009 12:59

Funny how K looks so natural as a monster!

Feierabend · 29/10/2009 13:00

He does indeed

kingbeat23 · 29/10/2009 13:04

brill....now I'm going to have that in my head all day!!!!

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 29/10/2009 13:16

Hey Bebe! Have received your package - thanks for the sweeties, you sweetie! The trousers are gorgeous but hyoooooooge! The 3-6m ones will be okay, but the 6-12m ones are as long as he is! No worries, though, they are lovely, and will fit him eventually! I love the bright red ones. His uncle will especially love them - he became a bit obsessed with red trousers when he was trying to get into the tank corps as they have red ones for their dress uniform. He didn't get into the corps, but bought some awful red cords to make up for it

BEWiTcHEDnod · 29/10/2009 13:38

love it love it love it BB

i just put my christmas cakes (cakes because i accidentally made twice as much as i needed... doh!) in the oven so the whole house smells of brandy - mmmmmmmmmmmmm... think O might get a bit drunk off the fumes...
