Hello all

posting and running (to bed thank god) as usual...

BB Great Little Trading Co also do named stockings and you get MN discount.

I too am fascinated by BA, I have to admit.

Am having a lovely but exhausting half term with DS1 and Edmund is totally taking a back seat poor love. I feel he's rather neglected but happy for DS1.

LOADs to catch up on sorry am thinking of you all.

Swaliswan · 28/10/2009 23:04

Just a quickie before I disappear for a few days/weeks.

BB, get K to practice sitting back down lots during the day when you are playing. It will soon sort out the urge to stand up in his cot.

Right, I'm off to bed now. When I reappear, I'll either be at my parents house or in our new house!

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 29/10/2009 07:17

Perhaps we ought to start a BA appreciation thread. 'My name is Gui and I am secretly fascinated by BA'. Do you think she would be just a little freaked?

BabyBolat · 29/10/2009 07:45

Thanks Swali - good luck.

I will try although I purposely try and get him to play on the floor with toys as I am concerned he is doing all these things a bit early and is not yet ready for it all but he is fine for about 5 minutes and then he just crawls off and goes to climb something. He is clearly a law unto himself.

Thanks MrsB - they look great - expensive so am off to hunt the MN discount!!

Woke up this morning to find K without his poo-covered nappy in his cot - the little bugger had taken it off and discarded it at the side while he was playing with the covers - you can imagine the mess!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 29/10/2009 07:45

ummmm...hi

BabyBolat · 29/10/2009 07:49

Hi purple - how are you?

BEWiTcHEDnod · 29/10/2009 07:53

OMG BB - K took off his nappy?? Well... on the upside at this rate you can teach him to put a clean one back on again

Fei - Thurs is good - will FB you.

O was up 10pm, 2.30am, 3.00am and 5.30am last night - so everybody please ignore any sleep training advice I have to offer. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 29/10/2009 07:59

Hi BB, I'm good
SOrry that's it's be ages since I was last on here. I was just finding that my addiction to MN (because that's what it was) was taking over and my children and house were paying the price. (my house is still messy and children are still neglected but not as badly now )
anyway, since I left you all DS has started nursery and is loving it. Isla has, just this weekend, got 2 teeth and started on solids. Like Lou's Isla, mine just wants to nick stuff off plates. We are definitely going the BLW route! (so far broccoli, banana, squash, kiwi, carrots, rice cakes and some stolen bagel)
on a more personal note. I've been to the doc;s about my PND. she referred me to the psychiatrist. I was nervous about taht but it turned out to be the best thing. he said I don't have PND, just plain old D. so i'm on ADs and am meetin with him again.
what else....in the 6 months ssince Isla was born I have not used the hooter hider even once.
sadly my life is not very exciting and there's not much else to tell really. I do pop on here every now and then to read how you are all getting on. I miss you all very much! I'll try to pop in more.

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 29/10/2009 08:14

Hi Purple (will change you back from Tatty on list!)

Distraught, DISTRAUGHT I tell you at lack of Hidden Hooters ! Very pleased that your PND is being dealt with well - good that you got straight to see a psych. How are you getting on with the ADs?
I suggest you hide all topics except Postnatal Clubs, then you can just come here without temptation!

BB - My ghast is well and truly flabbered at K's progress! He is such a livewire! What sort of business are you planing (or is it to early to say?/ too nosy to ask)? You are truly a wonder woman. It is very clear where K gets his dynamism from!

Swali - very best wishes and luck for a smooth move. ((( )))

OP posts:
Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 29/10/2009 08:15

Or even planning.

OP posts:
BabyBolat · 29/10/2009 08:34

LOL Bic - if it's any consolation K had a rubbish night too and is being a little brat this morning!

Purple - no hooter hiders???! what's wrong with you womam!

Gui - we are buying a restaurant over in turkey in a really horrible touristy but profitable area of Bodrum - well at the moment we are still looking for a place to buy so it all depends on that. There are slim pickings at the moment I have to say but then the actual buying wont happen until February. The aim is eventually to get a couple of businesses over there and be profitable enough in Turkey to cover my salary here so we can be based (and cover mortgages) in two countries and we can flit back between the two.

Live wire is not the word, I don't know what I did to deserve a child like this He is currently climbing all over his walker pretty much head first in the seat- I am going home today and am a bit worried how I will cope by myself!

BabyBolat · 29/10/2009 08:41

The little bugger just crawled up to me pretended to give me a hug and then bit me!n !!!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 29/10/2009 08:50

BB - I feel for you. DS was an early crawler and walker. It's hellish. I'm PRAYING that Isla decides to hold out for a while. I'm not holding my breath.

AuldAlliance · 29/10/2009 09:09

Morning all.
Nights are grim around here. A woke me three times last night, though I have no idea what time it was; I did look at the clock but have since forgotten as I am so exhausted.

And the weather has turned all mists and mellow fruitfulness, so I am having trouble drying the pile of stuff I have washed at the last minute for our adventure in airports and, briefly, the UK.

BB, A is crawling too, and in the CM's little playpen he loves standing up. It is nail-biting at times.
I'd love to flit between here and Edinburgh but sadly can't see it happening. How will K's schooling fit in with the flitting? (Sorry, am being v nosy, but looking for plans to imitate!)

Gui, I think lots of people are fascinated by BA, hence the reaction to my bolognese thread; loads of people clicked on it ages before BA appeared, because she always gets a reaction. She can be very, very scathing, though.

Helloooooooo purplemonkey! Pop in when you can, it's nice to hear your news.

Right, off to plough through a 400-page PhD thesis on a topic about which I know sod-all.
Though it's not only in the university system that things are a tad wonky, apparently.

Feierabend · 29/10/2009 09:20

£250,000 on a shower??? Diamond encrusted?

Gui LOL at BA fan club thread. Do it, do it!

BB I can thoroughly recommend sleeping bags to prevent babies / toddlers from taking their nappies off. Can imagine the mess, I saw a baby once smear the contents of her nappy all over the mesh sides of her travel cot. Bleurgh.

DD1 STILL wakes up according to summer time. Grrrrrrr. On the plus side, this meant for the first time since H's birth I was able to have a cuddle with her before H woke up - normally I have H attached to my breast when DD1 climbs into our bed. It was nice

Hey Purplemonkey! Nice to see you here and glad your depression is being treated properly.

BB love your plan for living in two countries. I really enjoyed travelling back and forth between Berlin and London for a few months, but that was pre children obviously. I'm planning to take the girls to their Oma's house in Germany for a few weeks every summer so they can live the German life, that's as glamourous as it will get for us

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 29/10/2009 09:25

Oooooh, BB, that is soooooo exciting! I was about to say I'd love to do that, but actually I just want to be a professional restaurant customer rather than a restaurateur! FIL's boat is moored somewhere in (or I suppose off) Turkey, so I will definitely come and patronise your business!!!

The only business I think I could handle would be a little bookshop-cakeshop by the sea somewhere, and then only as long as I can bake/ eat the cakes, read the books and have someone else do the accounts!

All mellow fruitfulness here too. I love Autumn. Now if only bloody footmuff for buggy would arrive, taking H out would be more straightforward! Sorry nights are still being troublesome for you Auld. If it's any consolation, I think I was woken about half a dozen times, the final one with positive sobs about something.
Do you have to read/ digest/ correct the thesis, or just skim it?

OP posts:
Feierabend · 29/10/2009 09:36

Bookshop-cakeshop by the sea - oooh Gui, I'll do your accounts. Sounds idyllic. Just don't expect me to bake any cakes, because I'm useless at baking.

BabyBolat · 29/10/2009 09:46

Auld - initially he will be schooled between the two - until about he age of 11 probably two terms in England and one in Turkey (as Turkish schools close in the summer) and then we will review where we want him to go full time for GCSEs etc. I realistically don't think any of this is feasible for a good few years but that is the plan in theory!

I know, I give up - every time he climbs something new I have that stomach flip! but as soon as he has fallen over he is up doing it all over again

Right I really must get off and do some work now.

Fei - nice! thankfully he just discards his nappy when he is done with it and likes to play naked (am a bit worried about my child he also started putting a friends doll on his bits yesterday!!)so it was just the immediate bum area on the sheets that made a mess! He wont have anything to do with grow bags as he hates his legs covered - kicks his sheets off every night! - he normally has PJs on but wet them through the night so I just left him in his nappy - wont be doing that again!

I'm a proper autumn winter person (more winter) love storms and rain (when I am inside with the fire on) although am wondering if that will change now I have kids and K screams with boredom on the fourth day of being house-bound???

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 29/10/2009 10:05

Oh dear, I've upset someone by saying their thread was very Mumsnet

OP posts:
BEWiTcHEDnod · 29/10/2009 10:06

BB LOL at K pretending to give you a hug

Oooooooooo Gui - that is my dream - a little cakeshop/bookshop by the sea... my friend and I talk about it all the time... You do fancy cakes don't you? I can do bog standard cakes, brownies and quiches, Fei can do the accounts, anyone else want in? We should call it something in honour of this thread... any suggestions?

Auld - sorry for your crap night. All the babies seem to be horrors at night at the moment...

O is shouting at me so better go...

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 29/10/2009 10:09

Fondant Fanjo, surely?

Eeeeeek!

OP posts:
BabyBolat · 29/10/2009 10:18

Oh Gui - if you are a baker - I have asked for this for my birthday - yum xxx

Feierabend · 29/10/2009 10:20

I love the meat hand!

Have you heard of MN TV...

BEWiTcHEDnod · 29/10/2009 10:23

Fondant Fanjo - love it.

Meat hand made me retch. Nice.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm - BB, that looks AMAZING. Might die eating that amount of icing though...

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 29/10/2009 10:25

BB - I love that tin! If I had the cash, I would build up a completely unreasonable collection of Wilton and www.nordicware.com/store/products/detail/fairytale-cottage-bundt/2242F85E-7C89-102A-B382-0002B3267AD 7Nordicware!!!
