PustuleRots · 26/10/2009 22:40

Good evening

Who is looking forward to Halloween? I have dug out Ellen's old pumpkin suit to put on Holly. And we have a few scary movies lined up for Saturday night.

Does anyone else have teenage skin at the moment? My hormones sem to be all over the place. And my hair is coming out in handfuls. After a shower the plughole looks like a hamster.

We had a jolly good sort out of cupboards, drawers, toy boxes, and bookshelves this weekend. It's amazing how much crap we had squirrelled away in such a tiny house. I think I could restock the local library.

We forgot about the clocks going back until late. It was great when we realised we had gained an hour and both our girls were asleep at 6.15pm!

Wriggly - Has S kept up the sleeping through? Holly hasn't managed yet but I have a feeling she is going to crack it far sooner than Ellen. [wishful]

Bebe - How is Boo's nose?

Swaliswan - Sorry to hear you sounding so low. I hope you find the strength to talk to DH about things.

Kas - You know I love the Duggars. There are some hilarious facebook fan pages.

MrsG or anyone else - Can you recommend somewhere to buy bunkbeds? Ellen was in a bed at 11mths so i'm thinking about moving Holly out of our bed by Feb/March.

Bicnod - What a shame about your birthday. I hope DH made it up to you? Just think how great it will be next year though when O can wish you "many happy returns". How are you today?

Auld - Happy birthday.

Kingbeat23 - Welcome, welcome. Please bring gin next time though.

Gui - Soontobe became JennyPenny no?

PustuleRots · 26/10/2009 22:55

Cakeforbrains - Great to hear from you. Good luck with the house plans.
Another person off to Cornwall.

Gui - I've just been reading that thread. I have a bit of a crush on BonsoirAnna. She's ace.

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 27/10/2009 07:04

JennyPenny - that's it!!! 22, IIRC. I kept thinking it was JB, and had almost convinced myself this morning that she was JuneyBean.

Hugo did a very good job this morning of waking up at 6.30am GMT not BST. Don't know how we managed that! He had quite a late bath, so that must have done the trick.

I'm going to start feeding him again today. He's had no 'food' for 3 days. Just milk is so much easier

Managed not to have any bad dreams last night... and despite still coughing in the night when I went to Boo she was still sleeping. So I went back to sleep too

I really am of two minds about the coughing. it's not any better, it's not any worse. I think she's getting used to it (which is why she can sleep through it now). Should I take her to the gp? likely an hour of waiting and then him telling me it's nothing...I have a niggling worry about chest infections...

Feierabend · 27/10/2009 09:18

Good morning. Bicnod, forgot to say yesterday, sounds like your DH was really making up for being not so useful on your birthday, sounds like you had a lovely day. Well done for rice cakes!

My girls are still on summer time - they did go to bed late, then woke up an hour too early this morning. Grrrr I hate it when the clocks change, I really do.

DD1 has been riding her broom around the house - she's going to a Halloween party on Friday as a 'friendly witch' (she insists she's not scary ).

Feierabend · 27/10/2009 09:20

This morning DH pointed out to her that she had the broom the wrong way round and she turned it and said 'and now I can fly'.

Feierabend · 27/10/2009 09:25

I have just started a thread in AIBU I must be mad.

Feierabend · 27/10/2009 09:29

Christ [scared] I didn't know you could be a size 30???

bronze · 27/10/2009 09:42

I hate the phrase kept woman but its a bit of a touchy subject around here at the moment.
My day doesnt seem to stop at the end of the working day like his does yet I'm made to feel like I should be 'grateful' he doesn't say anything to give his due but he does take for granted a wee bit much.

Hi Kingbeat- my first was born on 04/04, a very good day to be born.

I can't be arsed with aibu at the mo. Seems like they all are all the time

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 27/10/2009 09:50

I'm inclined to think 'kept woman' involves being kept in some kind of luxury, though, not drudgery. I want to be a kept woman who has chocolates and champagne for breakfast, goes shopping all day, 'does lunch' etc, whilst my staff look after the kids/ clean the house etc. Jewellery should be involved somewhere.

WrigglyFish · 27/10/2009 10:00

Sounds good Gui

I'm clearly not doing it right. Far too much laundry and not enough jewellery (although I am allowed to drink bubbly stuff on special occasions)

Welcome Kingsbeat.

Pustule - S hasn't slept the last couple of nights - mainly cos he has a nasty cough which keeps waking him.

Bunkbeds - I scoured the internet for weeks and ended up buying from these people limelight direct. They delivered on time, all the parts were there etc etc. No complaints really although it was a bit of a beast to put together. Mostly we chbose it cos it was cheaper than a lot of other options.

Fei - dunking biscuits? Def not rich tea - goes all soggy - bleeeurgh. But can be necessary to avoid costly dentistry when eating rock hard ginger nuts.

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 27/10/2009 10:05

Ah, but then your tea has a peculiar ginger taste. Might work with coffee though.

OP posts:
BEWiTcHEDnod · 27/10/2009 10:06

morning Fei - lol at DD1 and her flying broomstick

I am a dunker. But I recognise that we have freedom of choice in this regard and would never hold it against someone if they chose not to dunk. Unless it was a chocolate digestive of course.

Puzzle - DH has been trying hard since the weekend so things are much better now

Oscar is on a food refusal... not like him really. I'm hoping if I just don't make a fuss then he'll eventually decide he wants to eat again.

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 27/10/2009 10:10

Hurrah! H just managed a front to back roll! Shall celebrate by dunking all the Hobnobs!

BEWiTcHEDnod · 27/10/2009 10:10

wahey good one H

kingbeat23 · 27/10/2009 10:13

Morning!!

No bad dreams, just one that was about to turn into one until I woke me up wedged into the corner of her cot moaning.

Bronze - Yes, I feel the same about DP and work at the mo, was I being a bit "unreasonable" to get a bit miffed when DP came home and said "oh yes, I was going to phone you to run me a bath so that when I got home it was ready and I could just relax in it", not that I had anything else that needed doing at ALL....i think sarcasm gets lost in translation with us both sometimes (he's from latin america)...he then also muttered something about when I was going to "start bloody cooking dinner and get off the computer". Looks of death and a swift kick in the shins seemed to sort that one out!!! and yeah - 04/04, what a lovely day....

Fei - yes, quite literally mad....AIBU thread....id like to see if this gets as many posts as the AK thread yesterday...great stuff

Zombie - Go to the GP if you want, I do, and they ask me my opinion on things. I had a rash 2 weeks ago, she asked me what do you think it is...."either a random rash or worst case scenario...measles" she told me I was right, random rash, but to keep an eye on it, in case it turned into measles (it didnt) but I felt better knowing that i'd taken her to see GP....you know in your heart what you want to do, and thankfully she sounds like she is getting better, no nosebleeds no??

Gui - Am starting on the solids "properly" again today, nearly choked I last night after getting confused with the whole BLW and gave her a piece of red cabbage to suck on...she tried to eat the piece all in one go, and the inevitable happened....plus terrified DP that she would choke for real!! Ah well, she'd managed toast yesterday why not progress?? and had the rabbit-like poo, dont know where that came from as she had a veg/fruit ellas puree and thats never happened before !

WrigglyFish · 27/10/2009 10:15

Oh I'm not much of a tea fan so I find the ginger makes it a bit more interesting (like chai).

If drinking coffee would prefer a chocolate biscuit.

Right - go to go and change the sheets, do the washing up and vacuum the floor eat chocs and quaff champagne in my pearls.

bronze · 27/10/2009 10:19

I'm beginning to think I might do some more purees as the things he'll actually munch on are limited. The dog gets most of it.
I did blw of sorts with all mine (before I knew it was a 'proper' thing but also did some purees and they're all still alive. Though 1&2 just came through having broken a toy I had as a child so I'm not sure how long they will be for.1

kingbeat23 · 27/10/2009 10:29

I have a question....for all the meat eaters out there.

Can you give babies pork?? I have seen AK and GF say no, but then again... and Ive asked around but my friends/family are all veggie or the wrong faith so....opinions please guys ta

zombieBOO · 27/10/2009 10:40

We've not had any recent bleeds no. When she sneezes she does always so 'oh' but that could be because I do to
I just hate wasting people's time. I've not taken her because I forgot it ended at 10.30 and we've just got back to the store. Ah well we'll see how it goes. She's not bothered mostly so I shouldn't be either

zombieBOO · 27/10/2009 10:48

Like the broomstick story

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 27/10/2009 10:48

Yes to pork! I say this based on Aitch describing giving her DD pork fillet on her blog. I wonder why people think you can't? As long as it's well cooked, fine surely?
