Morning, not too bad a night here either. S fed at 10 and 1.45 but then no more feeds until 6.45. Unfortunately i fell asleep feeding so woke at 4 with a baby asleep on me, so i put him back in his cot. So it shows he can do 5 hour stretches .

Salemchocolates · 22/10/2009 09:34

Morning all,

I'm joining you all with the interupted nights. What is it about 4am lately with our babies . 2nd night now C started stirring and whimpering at 4. Today I thought I'd hang on until she woke up properly. But she whimpered on and off really, so by 5 I got her out and gave her a feed. She went back to sleep and then woke at 7.45, just like yesterday. So I was awake for the whole hour between 4 & 5, yawn. She used to sleep until 8.30-9, which was brilliant for getting dc1&2 ready for school + OK for when the clocks go back this weekend. If she doesn't go back to her old sleeping pattern, our mornings will start very early indeed. She's already back for a nap now, so was only awake for 1h before needing sleep again

We're supposed to go to our 1st swimming class today at 10.30. I'll let C sleep until 10 and then get her in the car. Hopefully 1h sleep will have been enough for her to enjoy the swimming.

flippin Ouch about your wisdom teeth. I've heard that it is not a very nice op at all. Oh and happy wedding anniversary on Friday!

looby enjoy baby yoga. Sounds like your DH and you are still having some problems.

flippineckitsabitspooky · 22/10/2009 09:49

Well, A has just gone back to sleep - this is the first sleep since 4:30! How does she do it?

No chance of making the library now, DD1 and I are still in our PJs!

runningscared · 22/10/2009 09:55

Morning folks, A asleep after a 6am start so have managed to get the birthday cake in the oven

Sorry to those of you with broken nights, we had 4 feeds last night but I think its because A is so bunged up that she's not been feeding efficiently. I wonder if the waking is partly because its getting a bit colder in the nights now? I know that I've been waking up a bit cold, so wonder if its affecting the lo's too?

Salem the guessing game is really easy - you get a load of thick socks (hiking ones are best) and put different objects inside each one. You tie up the tops and label them with numbers and then the aim of the game is for people to guess what's inside. I have made up 10 socks each with a different item relating to things MIL likes. Its good for a party where people don't know each other because it gets them talking about whats inside. You can give prizes for the most correct answers too.

loobs enjoy yoga

A is stirring so better go, will be back later. Sorry not managed more of a namecheck x x

llaregguBOO · 22/10/2009 10:19

Yay! G slept all night...shame his brother didn't!

Have a good day all.

Monstermomi · 22/10/2009 10:56

there's always one isn't there, llare ?

fi, when H had CP, it was barely recognisable it was such a mild case. she had about 10 spots so enough to make it CP (what else could it have been 2wks after her 2 sisters had it?) but not too unhappy in herself.

running, hope all goes well with bday preparation.

add H to the list of 4am wakers. she also wanted to play/attention. my solution was to try to feed her to sleep but she just snacked and tossed and turned until we woke up 'for good' at 6.30. with DH away, thankfully DD1 woke up only once at 6am and quickly went back to sleep for another hour.

maybe baby Clocks at this age have the same alarm? maybe something with the sleep cycle that they're all waking around the same time.

does anyone's baby have a type of separation anxiety? H starts to cry when I leave her to get something and go out of her sight. she stops quickly when she sees me again. I thought they were too young for this.

Hope everyone is well. will try to do better namecheck later as I've got to do laundry, make running's cake bread, empty diswasher...

EtherealFiByTheSea · 22/10/2009 10:59

G slept through after dream feed at 11pm but ds was awake at 5.45 got him settled into bed but he didn't stay there. i could hear him playing with his toys until 7.30 when it went quiet until just after 10.30! G woke up for first feed properly at 8.30am so at least i was able to snooze till then. ds eating late breakfast and G now asleep so having a cuppa.

glad better nights were had by some

muddled no prob about fri.. i was going to suggest another day as remembered fridays can be a bit of a nightmare on the M5 round here.. worse in the summer mostly though.

off for a cuppa and delighted to be in as it's truly horrid outside today!

HeebieJeebieReeBee · 22/10/2009 11:02

Morning everyone

Another broken night here but an improvement on recent times - DH fed F at 11.30pm, I fed him at 3.30am and then at 8am. I can cope with that, it was the 10pm / 12.45am / 3am / 5.30am with which I was struggling.

F had his last lot of jabs yesterday and I think he is also getting DH's cold - has cried pretty much constantly since about 9am. He was only happy when he grabbed an envelope and tried to eat it - screamed and screamed when I took it away...

Had a great time last night. Went to the Living Room and exploited their £3.50 cocktails. momi, I did indeed have a bellini for you (ok, 3 bellinis). And a mojito. And a raspberry martini. And quite a lot of white wine. And a huge 3 course meal meaning I don't even feel very hungover, hurrah!

salem hope you and C both enjoy swimming and ditto looby and M re yoga. Both things I'd like to do and haven't as yet.

running I was wondering about the cold thing as well but have tried F with an extra blanket and it didn't seem to make any difference.

saus did I see on FB that your shoe is in Leeds?!

HeadlessLadyH · 22/10/2009 11:16

Morning lovely ladies,

saus love the sound of your hen night! And at least you had some recovery time too. Ever find your shoe???

fi gah your CP outbreak sounds frustrating. I'm kind of hoping for you that the spots appear so at least they can then start working towards scabbing over.

flip gah wisdom teeth. DH had his out just after R was born. 3 in one go. His were growing horizontal too. He had a general and was in at 7.30am and home by 2pm. He was fine. A bit of pain the following day but the hospital gave him a strong painkiller. In fact, the same one that I was prescribed ante natally to deal with my tear so I think they must be ok to BF on. ANyway, the point of this long ramble is that DH was fine within 24-36 hours post op. Go for the general if you can!!

momi I don't know about separation anxiety here. All I know is that if R is crying, if I pick him up he pretty much stops. I've not noticed him get upset though if I leave him anywhere. Yet.

running pass the cake round!!

To join in on the "what sort of night did you have" chat... R is so unpredictable. Last night dream feed at 11, woke again at 4am ish. Previous night, dream feed at 10am and slept through till 6am. I think part of his waking is down to his nappies. They were sopping wet so I've put him in the next size up and it has, I think, helped a bit.

Yesterday, he managed a 2/3 second suck on some banana. He had some toast this morning and some fusili pasta last night. When I say "had" , it didn't really go in his mouth. But its a start. I am determined to give BLW a really good go.

HeadlessLadyH · 22/10/2009 11:19

Oh jeesus. Anyone watching This Morning? They have the poor mother on whose daughter fell in the sea and died when her husband was with his mistress. Heartbreaking heartbreaking. Even Holly whatshername is struggling to keep the tears back.

sausagemonstermash · 22/10/2009 12:02

Lalalalaaaaaaa M slept from 11pm till 7am, woooooHOOOOOOO!! (sorry!)

Re the shoe saga - Heebie yes you are right, the shoe is in Leeds! Only because my bridesmaid / friend who came back home with me on Saturday night lives there, and she found it in her handbag when she got home on the Sunday. Ha! Good job I didn't throw the other one out!

Bounty bags - I got an email from them - looks like I was hyperorganised and filled some form out somewhere. Got it from Boots.

Wedding - MIL2b asked dp on the phone last night where we are going on our honeymoon... he thinks she is going mad as he has told her loads of times. She also asked him if buttonholes are being sorted for them, or do they sort their own ones out?! Like I'd miss them out! THEN she harped on about how pretty M is going to look on the day, and she can't wait to see her, and her sister can't wait for a cuddle... etc etc.... NOTHING about how much she is looking forward to her son getting married, how its going to be a lovely day..... gah, wait till she hears that my brother has sole responsibility of M for the day with strict instructions to keep her away from everyone! Not that I'm being all PFB but I don't want her passed from person to person to person, what with all the coughs and colds going about, and she won't know everyone and she'll get upset, and then its only me that can really settle her and I can't do that really in a swanky frock. Oh GOD HELP!

Breathe. Everything will be fiiiiiiine.

(AND she's made me the bloody garter when both myself and dp said not to! I have no idea how she's expecting me to wear it, as dp told her not to post it because of the strike - wish he had! - and they aren't seeing dp until the night before - won't see him then until at the altar - eek - so lalalalaaaaaaa I won't have to wear it!)

Anyway. I STILL need to do some work. Happy Thursday everyone!

sausagemonstermash · 22/10/2009 12:04

I sound completely bonkers. Sorry

Monstermomi · 22/10/2009 12:06

LadyH, thank god I'm not watching it... would be in floods . Toast, fusilli... BLW sounds like it's going really well, btw. gotta try again with H today.

flippin, forgot to say good luck with the wisdom tooth.

catching up little by little between the little jobs i'm doing round the house.

pulapumpkin · 22/10/2009 12:52

Momi- i was going to ask the same thing about separation anxiety- S is the same. As soon as I head for the door he's crying . It is usually more like 8 months when they get it.

sausage- and breathe . I am sure you will have a lovely day. I don't blame you for not wanting M to be passed around- it's unsettling for her, and also not ideal when lots of bugs are around. And I thought i was the only one who could settle S until my FIL cuddled S to sleep the other week so don't worry - she may surprise you.

Monstermomi · 22/10/2009 13:08

not supposed to be on here . made the bread dough, now the kitchen is covered in a dusting of flour (and I didn't even have toddlers to help me with that today), lots of cleaning, laundry, ironing stll to do.

sausage, cross posted. listen to pula: breathe. it will all be fine. I admit it's really difficult especially the week before to focus on the day and how lovely it will be. but do try to relax, step back from the situation, and lean on your friends, and vent here .

EtherealFiByTheSea · 22/10/2009 13:40

sausage you don't sound bonkers at all! yay about your shoe too

ONE more day to go before dh gets home

HeadlessLadyH · 22/10/2009 13:45

saus good advice from momi there I think. It will all be fine. Maybe just nod and go mmmmm mmmmm when MIL2B talks at you and then you can just phase her out!!Oh, And at least you can reunite your shoes in due course. LOL at one being in Leeds.
BTW what is your dress like? Apologies if you have already described it or put a link up, but I would love to know!

momi I am just putting food in front of R that I think he will be able to hold/squish in his hand and then hopefully get it somewhere near his mouth. Am not sure its going "well" so to speak as the most he has eaten is a 2 sec suck on some banana yesterday and another 2 sec suck on some toast today. I believe its a slooooowww process at the start anyway.

R has just done the most enormous poo which meant a complete change of outfit too.

He says,

"Today MNers I will be mostly wearing BabyGap".

A cute cute halloween longsleeve vest and some handmedown jeans. All 6 - 12 months now. The 3 - 6 month stuff has gone.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 22/10/2009 14:22

ds has really enjoyed mixing runnings chocolate cake.. it's now in the oven too lazy to line my sandwich tins i'm using one of my silicone baking moulds very excited to see how it turns out!

Salemchocolates · 22/10/2009 14:30

Hi everyone.

The swimming went really well. C was the youngest by about 6m though, but she seemed to enjoy it none the less. No crying or complaining, not even upon entering the water. I've also realised it's time for me to get a new swim suit. I could only find my holiday bikini, which is now far too big. I felt really naked, lol.

saus Your day will be fine. Just ignore your MIL2B and I'm sure your db will do a great job protecting M from unwanted cuddles.

momi Yes, we get complaining when I leave the room or just move out of sight too. It's not always crying. Often it's just shouting, as if she's saying "hey, hey, you still there?!" It actually sounds like "hey hey" too when she shouts!

I've put C's high chair together. She quite liked it in there. She must like being at our level when we eat. DS loved her in there too. Food is always his main concern, so a high chair is a v. important tool in his eyes, lol. I also had C in the high chair at the swimming pool cafe where I stopped for a drink. That's a first with her. I had made the mistake of leaving her pram in the car, so I thought I'd see how she did.

headless We're about to leave the 6-9m behind too and are into 6-12m. All her 6-9m dresses are starting too look like tunics , still tunics are all the rage now, so it doesnt' matter. I'm very interested to follow your BLW progress. C can start in November. She's only just started to put everything she pics up into her mouth, so I think she should be OK by Nov. She's also very fascinated by us eating the last week or so too.

Right now time for some more laundry yet again. DH came home with a binliner full , so better get cracking before school pick up time.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 22/10/2009 14:33

ladyh I'm on my 2nd lot of clothes as well as G.. the explosive poo she leaked on me earlier was followed by a big wee when i was changing her.. somehow she soaked my top and my jeanssome of her 3-6m is at the about to grow out of stage and other 3-6 are way too small.. she's wearing 6-9/12m in others.. weird how sizing varies so much brand to brand.

Salemchocolates · 22/10/2009 14:33

Oh, forgot. running the guessing game sounds fun. Will have to try that for a b'day party some time.

hiebiereebee I had to laugh at your F crying when you took the envelope away. Must have been very tasty!

pulapumpkin · 22/10/2009 14:47

Am I one of the only ones here that has a baby that doesn't do explosive poos which require changes of clothes? I know my DD used to do loads. S has done maybe a handful which required a change of vest, and a couple which went further. He has also only been sick once (straight down my bra) - he does the occassional wet burp but that's about it. He's still in 3-6m clothes but won't be long until he's in the 6-9m ones.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 22/10/2009 16:05

pula lucky you! G's very often go right up her back coming out the top of her nappy and onto her body suit.. occasionally there's a leg leak too but that's unusual. the ones up her back usually get me as she does them when bf and they're so huge they saturate through so quick! can happen even when she's had a bum change before her feed. These days it's not happening so much. I've even tried different nappies wash/disp and makes little difference ds never did this to the same extent.

belgian swimming sounds lovely even with feeling a bit naked.

running very yummy chocolate cake.. ds & I had to sample it as soon as it cooled enough YUM! my mum has even snaffled some after popping in to say hi

Salemchocolates · 22/10/2009 16:24

pula It's very rare that C does a leaky poo. Monday was one of those exceptional ones, but unfortunately she'd picked her timing a bit. . No leaky burbs here, occasionally as a nb. Well, maybe not none at all, once a week or something, lol. Last time was when I tried to be clever and put her on my back and she deposited something into my hair.

Looks like I'm going to have to try that chocolate cake some time soon.

Off to do some pumpkin carving now. The dcs have a Halloween school disco tomorrow and there's a pumpkin carving competition. Not sure what they can win though.

runningscared · 22/10/2009 16:53

Afternoon all,

Glad the cake worked ok Fi

Not too many explosive poos here but I am on my third top of the day as the last two were covered in sick!

A is also suffering from a bit of separation anxiety, I keep having to say hello to her while she's on her play gym so that she knows I'm still here Am also a bit concerned she is going to think her name is monkey not A, I have to make a real effort to say her name when speaking to her, not calling her 'monkey moo'

Waves to everyone else
