Ds has an Audi. His first proper grown up car. He is very, very proud of it. He got it as his wedding favour at the weekend and is now never seen without it. I find it quite amusing and interesting as he has other metal toy cars that are not plastic or wood and babyish but they are still obviously toys and he quite clearly makes a distinction between them and this one which is a proper car, number plate, doors opening etc. Dd got a plastic tractor and spent the next 2 days pushing it around going brrrrrrr brrrrrrr brrrrrr

Ooh, get you castles! Dp has an S5 (had to check!) and it's very fancy. I haven't driven it yet, too scared to as I kept bashing all of his other cars. There was this famous incident with his bmw in a car park. Hmmm Enjoy! Glad you enjoyed half term and halloween and sound v.perky
Arrggh, indith, you do get the mucky end of things don't you? Hope they're both a bit recovered now?
Good to hear ds2 not the only one, it's just ds1 did have friends from birth really (still friends with them!). I lay awake the other night crying about it, but it's just been rotten bad luck really that ds2 has missed out a bit because he's a late developer & I got pg. His mini micro scooter arrived last night, I'm all excited about his birthday now. [Must stop spending, must stop spending...]
Jabber, ds2 is November actually isn't he? I still remember that post from you when you disappeared for a couple of days and had the section!
Off to upload some more photos, I'm trying to tackle the xmas calendars early as it takes aaaaaages. I wrote down in my diary 7 weeks until xmas etc for every friday today so it will give me a kick up the butt. More pressies arrived today along with two steamy chick lit books for me! yay!

I drive too fast to be classified as a lane hogger

AQ, do tell about chick lit. Went to Book Club last night and am getting decidedly bored of the 'family/childhood' stuff we read. Yawn.

DD2 is 3 on 30th November so is she no. 3 out of our little group? What is everyone getting?

at imagining you speeding around in your audi, castles. I just read 'Seducing Mr Darcy' by Gwen Cready and it was so much fun & very sexy. I've raved about Jenny Crusie on here before I think (esp Welcome to Temptation, but there are others that are good too).
I'm getting ds2 playmobil, microscooter and puzzles for xmas/birthday (god he loves puzzles!). I got a bargain umbrella ages ago for his stocking not sure if it will fit though! No idea what girls like (dd doesn't really play with toys unlike her brother, she gets bored in 2 secs and ds3 will play for ages) but I think others were getting playmobil too. I love playmobil, wish I'd had it when I was young!

Castles

No more vomit but the girl is not quite herself, decent night last night but refusing to sleep today.

Mine are getting:

ds Christmas- massive Thomas and Friends railway (freecycle!) [cheapskate], Birthday undecided, possibly a scooter because AQ has good ideas and I think he would make it the shops and back on one (instead of walking there, round the shops and only half way back before ending up on the footplate of the buggy claiming to be tired yet then complaining if I tell him tired boys can't possibly have the energy to go to the park )

dd Birthday- a set of fisher price roll arounds. Christmas- some girly long lseeved bodies from Frugi because I can't be arsed with more toys

Can you use fabreeze on leather? We got a sofa off freecycle and it smells of dog. I am a fabreeze virgin but it does smell like we have a wet dog inthe living room!

I think ds2 is the first of the bunch. He beat out elibaby by just a day or two It was rather memorable having the mad dash/waters everywhere trip to the hospital. Not quite what I had expected!

Ds2 is mad about Star Wars and has requested his own Stormtrooper gear. Should I be concerned that he relates more to Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers than the good guys?

Haven't even thought about Christmas yet! We are having 60+ people over for a fundraiser on Sunday and the house is NOT ready. And I still have to buy the chili ingredients!!!

arghhhh......

Oh and very of the nice cars.

castlesintheair · 04/11/2009 14:46

Jabber, DS was very into Star Wars last year and Darth Vader rocked, as he did for all his friends

Have just done loads of shopping. Tee hee! Thanks for the ideas. DD2 is getting a whole heap of playmobil. Am getting DS & DD1 (nearly 8 & 6) digital cameras and watches in attempt to cut down on the crap toys.

dd loves her noddy car which she got from the bric a brac sale at the school fair in the summer.

Have you seen the emoticon? I love it!

Love it

Nobody know about fabreeze/fbreeze however you spell it? I attacked the thing with baby wipes and removed enough dog hair from the backs of the cushions to knit several jumpers but it still smells. I need to "wash" it so that German girls can come in a go "oh wow, fresh"

Hmm - I don't know about Febreze and leather. Can you get some kind of oil to rub itno the leather and put bicarb under the cushions?

I've not got long to go at work. I am due to have an interview soon although no date's been set as yet.

TheDailyWail · 04/11/2009 21:56

Sorry Indith that was a "hmm - pensive" rather than a "hmm - sceptial"

Have a biscuit !

Olihan · 04/11/2009 22:55

Indith, I have no idea about Febreeze and leather but I DO know you can wash leather sofas with baby soap and warm water so DW's suggestion about bicarb may go along with that. How are the incredible pooing/vomiting children?

Glad you are fixed Oli - do you feel fixed? I finally have a picture for you of the PILs but it is a polaroid and I'm worried about scanning it - anyone know if it will ruin the picture? I have tried photographing it but the result is fairly rubbish, I might send it to you, what do you think?

We also have playmobil for DD for Christmas, and a few little bits like hair slides, paper and crayons, a couple of books and a tigger bowl. I will probably also come across things I've stashed during the year and forgotten about. For her birthday we are going to Sandcastles in Blackpool for the day, more presents 3 days after Christmas don't appeal.

DS has a wooden train track from Tesco and a ride on Fire Engine I bought from TK Maxx in their January sales! Mad woman.

Am of all these Audi drivers - real ones and little ones although DH has announced yesterday that he is getting himself a new car so I can have his Honda CRV all the time of course he will no doubt change his mind but by then I will have filled it with my junk and possession is 9/10ths of the law isn't it??

Jabber - in awe of your two being able ot work youtube! All DD ever does to my laptop is turn it off mid use.

Shall shove some bicarb down the back of the sofa and go ask the good housekeeping lot. Thanks.

Well, having thought I had got off pretty lightly with the vomit bug dh found ds in a puddle of vomit this evening. Another bed to change and child to hose down.

Dd managed to eat coal this afternoon while I had my back turned . As soon as she was cleaned up she went under the table where ds and I were drawing, I left her to it as I had just hoovered and she emerged with a mouthful of play-doh

Oli that is wonderful! Honestly, if AQ hadn't told me how well it worked i don't know that I would have had the teeniest hope when dh and I were going through our troubles but here we all are I'm really happy for you all.

ewwww, at the continuing vomit, Indith. I'm one of those who starts heaving at the very smell of it.

how wonderful, oli, I'm really really pleased for both of you. I know from experience how hard it is to be in a relationship that's not working. I wouldn't hesitate to go back again, we would not be the happy family we are now without counselling.
hope the vomit is easing now, indith? eeek.

vomit seems to have passed Ds spent most of yesterday snuggled up watching Rainbow or sleeping but by evening was racing around like a loon singing at the top of his voice.

Dd been waking a gazillion times a night again. Just grizzling not screaming so I think it may be a good time for dd and daddy to spend some quality time together at night
