Oh go on then.

I'm rubbish at titles though but I bow down to Oli's cakes and supermum.

EVye · 06/02/2010 21:37

I'm around - this might make you giggle

jabberwocky · 06/02/2010 23:57

Wow! She's rather knowledgable isn't she, lol.

MaHumbug · 07/02/2010 20:06

lol @ mini-EV. My dd1 wants big boobies like mummy. She looked down my mum and sister's top to see if they had a long line down from their neck like mine (the ol' cleavage)

castlesintheair · 08/02/2010 14:52

lol @ EV & Margo's precocious DDs

Indith · 08/02/2010 15:21

Why have we not evolved a better way of growing teeth?

Where does all the laundry come from?

Where do all the socks go?

Why is there never any paracetamol?

Why are we always down to the last slice of bread?

And the last biscuit...

And why did I not remember that the original source mint shower gel gives everyone thrush until after I used it?

So many questions.

The last one did lead to a very amused chemist though. "Is your husband using the cream too?" "Really not an issue, she doesn't sleep" Chemist looks puzzled, penny drops, burst into laughter. At elast someone get some fun out of my lack of sex life

Sorry about the rant last time, we actually then had quite a nice Saturday while dh was working then left him at home to recover on the Sunday and went to a country park type thing to feed the deer. He took Thursday and Friday off work so we have had a nice long weekend. Ds has been lovely most of the week but I think he has a random bug or something as he has been in a rubbish mood yesterday and today for some unexplained reason. He'll probably come out in a viral rash or something tomorrow and then be happy again, tis his usual trick.

Dd has 2 more teeth, now 6 on top and only 2 onthe bottom, rather cute really and she can walk! Did a few single steps the past few days and at toddlers today started walking away from me [proud] so I have been having fun waving chocolate buttons around the living room and she chases them, stopping to clap and giggle on the way

Hope AQ is ok

EV and Margo

Lenni glad dd getting better at school and yay for the teaching!

very glad dd settling better lenni and yay for walking dd, indith
shoulder better, still awaiting verdict on op but hopeful
another day with my two 'easy' children ds2 and dd, even managed a one handed walk with the double buggy to get choc supplies

EVye · 09/02/2010 22:06

Oh dear Indith!

Glad you are ok AQ.

I'm a bit worried about DD

jabberwocky · 10/02/2010 14:17

Congrats on the walking, Indith! It's so exciting when they take those first steps. Makes it easy to block out the chasing times that will start

AQ, I'm glad you're a bit better. Maybe you won't need the op

EV, I'm so sorry dd is ill. FWIW, it doesn't really sound like glandular fever to me. I think the doc is right in starting AB's since you don't know if it's viral or bacterial at this point. Can you give it to her in an oral syringe?

EVye · 10/02/2010 16:11

Thanks Jabber. She is taking it mixed with banana nesquik milkshake without complaint now. Not before spitting gloopy yellow medicine into my face

accessorizequeen · 11/02/2010 10:00

is dd improved now ev? Hope it's not gf!

shoulder much better

Indith · 11/02/2010 15:49

That's good news AQ, must be the chocolate Good healing properties.

EV hope dd is getting better, horrible when they get his to hard by a bug

Dd says the second point of the pre-molars hurts way more than the first. I fear our weekend away at MIL's could be intersting.

OP posts:
Elibean · 12/02/2010 16:22

Where have I been?!? time seems to have done that vanishing thing again.

EV, so sorry dd is unwell, any change yet?

I'm trying not to notice the chocolate talk - was probably the biggest indulger, but have borrowed a WW booklet from a Mum at dd1's school and am trying to be sensible for a bit. Only want to lose a few pounds, but why is it those few are the impossible ones?

Congrats to Lenni, and Lenni's dd - big steps all round, eh? Double chocolate celebration, I reckon.

Am not sure why I've been so awol recently, very busy but think I'm also avoiding thinking too much, as have daunting birthday coming up and lots of feelings about it (and no chocolate to douse them in). Have decided to celebrate instead of hide, or try to, and maybe plan a holiday for June half-term...

...EV, yours looks great

Elibean · 12/02/2010 16:22

AQ, great news re shoulder!

jabberwocky · 14/02/2010 15:03

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Dh got me some wonderful additions to my vintage tee collection.

good news about the shoulder AQ!

eli, I have a daunting birthday looming next month so can commiserate

castlesintheair · 14/02/2010 18:08

oooh, how daunting [nosey emoticon]

Good news re shoulder AQ

TheDailyWail · 14/02/2010 20:34

Castles - what treatments did you opt for at the health farm?

Daunting birthdays - shall we all agree not to add the years once we get past 21? I am obviously in denial because I have a mental block every time I am asked my age.

Is dd better EV?

dd1 complained of a headache -we took her to the em. doc. she had tonsilitis. Apparently that's one of the symptoms

jabberwocky · 15/02/2010 13:29

Ds1 built a website for his imaginiary town called Mello. I started a thread about it and lovely MNers are helping bump up his counter! It's here

EVye · 15/02/2010 13:41

Hi Jabber - I saw the link yesterday and have visited Mello

DD2 seems fine in herself. She has finished her antibiotics (goog girl) but her glands are still pretty big. I have to wait a week and see what they are like then.

I have lost my voice and feel pretty knackered. Just in time for half term.

How is everyone?

jabberwocky · 15/02/2010 16:39

Thanks, EV!

Sorry about the voice. Do you think it's a milder form of whatever dd had? Hope the glands go down soon.

Lenni · 16/02/2010 21:06

Well I turn 30 in April and am feeling kind of enthusiastic about it which I wasn't expecting. I feel so much more secure lately, more stable I guess.

Hope the shoulder is sorted AQ and you are better soon EV. Will go and see Mello now Jabber.

Eli - here's to new beginnings?

Elibean · 16/02/2010 22:25

Jabber, clever ds1 (and you, m'dear, are a spring chicken. Go celebrate and don't look back ).

I remember being quite relieved at 30, sort of empowered and excited - quite rightly! Happy Birthday Lennied, is it soon?

Castles, too daunting to mention. Though people tend to be gratifyingly shocked when I tell them. I'm pretty shocked myself, I just remember being a melancholic 14 year old who couldn't imagine living past 21 ('cos it seemed so OLD).

EV, I'm so glad dd seems better...glands can take a while to go down, I remember having endless huge glands as a child. Hope you're better soon too.

And AQ, how's the shoulder? Does it take ages and ages to get better, as I imagine it might?

Am , my dear lovely eccentric kind uncle has had bone scan results (prostate cancer) and its not good. He sent me an email then went to ground, I so hope he's ok - can't imagine how shocking the news must be. He's a doctor, so understands too much about it all. Its really hard to know how to be there for him, stay in touch, without being intrusive (he's very private, and single, and lives alone).

As a result I'm temporarily out of celebratory mode, though I still have 3 weeks or so to regain some enthusiasm

Elibean · 16/02/2010 22:26

Ah - ok, April. Sorry, took so long writing that lot I forgot what you said Lenni.

Sounds like we have a run of Mummy-birthdays! Good, company

accessorizequeen · 16/02/2010 22:57

hopes he comes above ground again soon eli, but I guess he needs to take it all in.
hope the voice comes back soon ev!
I wish I had enjoyed turning 30 more, Lenni, I hope you do! I did get engaged the night before though (very sweet of dp to distract me). Sigh, memories..Pity looks like we'll never get married though!
shoulder getting better every day although overdid it yesterday taking ds1 and ds2 out on the bus in town for the day, ended up lifting ds2 in and out of buggy about 5 times and shattered today! But I am actually quite enjoying myself at present because dt's are in nursery 2 days, I'm getting a break from them which I desperately needed and don't have to go to work! 2-4 more weeks until I can drive though argh. I can just about push double buggy now so hopefully can go for walk tomorrow (older boys shipped off to gm's for a few days). I'm very much enjoying my delicious dt's right now so nice to have a day with them to myself. DS3 has learnt all sorts of new things lately (you know high five that kind of thing) which is just as much a joy to me as when the other kids did it. dd is just concentrating on learning to talk

castlesintheair · 17/02/2010 13:37

Ah, Eli & Jabber, remember as Uncle Bryn says "it's not how old you are but how you are old"

Glad you are feeling better AQ. Sound's like your mood is lifting too.

Sorry to hear about your uncle Eli.

Half-term mayhem here. Poor DS has so much homework/projects to do now that h-t seems to be revolving around that

DH goes back to work tomorrow. Can't believe it's been 3 months!!

Elibean · 17/02/2010 15:27

AQ, you sound gooood! I'm so glad you're getting space to enjoy DTs (and them you, no doubt). Hopefully the dses will have had a blast at GMs and everyone will be refreshed by the change.

Uncle has surfaced, and claims he vanished due to cyber problems and not depression he's being v practical, thankfully, and still joking. I have a longstanding soft spot for him (as do dh and the dds); although I have half a dozen elderly relatives now (including parents) this one matters extra, iykwim. Onwards!

dd1's friend has just gone home from a playdate, and she had masses of homework this half term too...poor ds, Castles. I'm relieved there is a no-homework-during-half-term policy at dd's school - or maybe thats jsut till Juniors, not sure - she gets SO much during term, thats probably enough!
