Oh go on then.

I'm rubbish at titles though but I bow down to Oli's cakes and supermum.

Hello

Sorry for all the flu and other bugs.

Margo

How are you all? We are finally relative free for a short while. I managed very well over Christmas but hit a slump yesterday. Not helped by dd teething, ds having got out of the habit of napping with all the Christmas mayhem and haivng terrors and FIL deciding to stay and extra night (he is lonely bless him so I feel quite mean for being a bit annoyed, his dp's mum is ill so she has been spending all her time down south including Christmas)

We now have far too many toys, the duplo tub is overflowing, dd has been bought half a million dolls and loads of pink clothing and a pink pushchair and we now have farm buildings to store somewhere. Not to mention the play house which is one of those cardboard ones so it folds but where do oyu then put the bloody bookshelf sized folded thing? The entire floor of ds's room is covered in train set It is ace! We still have his birthday to come though, I think we should have bought a bigger house.

I need sleep.

And I need to be alone for a couple of hours!

The relative invasion will resume a week on Saturday, since nobody has given us the presents for ds in advance, they have all said they will come up so that will be 3 weekends ina row then for all the various ones to come up. Then they can all bugger off for a bit.

Sorry

Happy New Year!

We had loads of snow overnight (not that the old stuff had ever gone away). Ds can't walk in it as it is too deep We have been out to build a snowman family so we currently have Mummy, Daddy and William out in the garden. No Daisy yet, hot chocolate/warm milk seemed like a better idea. I am quite that ds instructed me to make Daddy "nice and fat".

Happy New Year

I love New Year. I get to rip down all the decorations I loved three weeks ago (and now mangy tree), think about regaining some no-birthday-no-Christmas space, and generally move on. That said, its been packed so far..and now have DM staying till Sunday...

Castles, thought you might (know exactly what I meant)! Ragdale or Greyshott, wish I could come with you - haven't been since dc, but did do Ragdale with dh one NY and loved it.

So many sick babies...poor loves, really hope all better soon, and dd putting on weight again Lenni. Sounds like an awful time all round for your family, Margo - v for your poor BIL and scary re dd. How is she now?

dd1 had a teeny bit of playmobil (cats, I think) and dd2 is the one who plays with it - though much prefers Keytween she got. Our house is awash with crafty stuff....don't mind, apart from glitter, which is the Work of The Devil

I feel so fat. Anyone care to join me in attempted healthier lifestyle in a week or so?!

Elibean · 01/01/2010 19:05

re Indith's swowfamily. Reminds me a bit of our old Daddy Pig discussions - won't reopen that one, though, maybe.

Elibean · 01/01/2010 19:05

swow?

Snow.

I wish we had some, instead of ice

SherryMerryLennipillar · 01/01/2010 23:27

Happy 2010!

No snow that has settled, although plenty has tried.

I would love to attempt a healthier lifestyle with you Eli - where do I start??

castlesintheair · 02/01/2010 08:25

Oooh, we have snow in Cornwall!

Happy New Year everyone.

I am doing something about my unhealthy lifestyle starting week after next with my stay at Greyshott. Can't wait

Indith · 02/01/2010 13:24

I am too addicted to chocolate to have a healthier lifestyle. Maybe when I get sleep.

We have a blizzard outside and we can't get the car out as the back road is too deep in snow. Huddling by the fire it is then

MaHumbug · 02/01/2010 20:15

Oooh so you you have booked somewhere Castles.

I'd love to be huddling by a real fire, actually I'm quite glad that I am as warm as toast now the boiler's been installed. I keep on mentally thanking the installers every time I see the snow showers.

I resolve to be walking as much as possible. I haven't really over indulged this Xmas but I still need to lose a few stone. I'm a stone lighter since August so I'm on the way.

DD is much better. DBIL is quietly soldiering on. I can't praise him enough, he must be in so much pain and he hasn't complained.

VeryHungryLennipillar · 03/01/2010 22:51

Good luck with new job Margo

jabberwocky · 03/01/2010 23:59

HEalth farm meet-up would be nice. I'm with Eli, my only resolution is to try not to overindulge so much. I was at the point of zero willpower these last 6 months and all of my clothes were getting uncomfortable.

MaHumbug · 04/01/2010 21:25

First day at my new job today. I've got a lot to thank EV for. I really appreciate the help you gave me.

EVye · 05/01/2010 09:58

Hope it went well yesterday Margo

accessorizequeen · 05/01/2010 13:14

ooh health farm meet up (although like indith I'm too addicted to choc really) sounds fab

margo, hope it all works out in new job!

come on everyone how was christmas/new year, what are resolutions etc?

My part of the world looks v.pretty under blanket of snow (and as indith/lenni know it's not a very pretty town!)

jabberwocky · 05/01/2010 19:01

Hi everyone, my office has gotten much busier!

New Year's nice but low key at home with dh. Resolutions : smaller portions and more time with girlfriends - keeping priorities straight and everything in perspective

castlesintheair · 05/01/2010 22:12

Well, I'm going to Grayshott next week if anyone can make it ...

Congrats on the job margo. Hope it is going well.

It's snowing here now though probably quite pathetically here compared to up north. Am still silently praying for a shut school tomorrow!

Elibean · 06/01/2010 16:14

Finally a bit of snow that stuck

Though loads of people I know in other places are snowed in, some happily some not.

Casltes , but you do deserve it! Enjoy, enjoy, and tell us what healthy tips you've learnt when you get back (as long as it doens't involve giving up choclate entirely).

As a devout choc addict, I will be attempting not to keep much in the house, or making do with After Eights which are only half a point each at WW, iirc (read the booklet once)

Belly dancing class starts monday at dd's school, they're trying to get me to join, should I?!?

Margo, how'd it go? Sounds exciting...?

EVye · 06/01/2010 17:06

hello all. about 10" of snow and still heavy. cant see kids being back to school this week. they had a week off ill b4 xmas hols so we all have cabin fever.

jabberwocky · 06/01/2010 17:11

eli, you should definitely take the class!! I took for years and taught a beginner class until ds2 was born. In fact dh said this year he wants me to get some time to join another class b/c I miss it so much.

I shudder at the thought of my dcs having more time off school. We barely survived the two week holiday!

castlesintheair · 06/01/2010 22:04

EV, I'm soooo envious. I know you are probably going mad but we have snow but school/nursery open and probably will be tomorrow. I want to play in the snow with my DCs

Thanks Eli. Go for it re belly dancing. Rather you than me mind

EVye · 07/01/2010 07:31

Things is castles, my two are wussess so they played about 20 mins then the cold/wet drove them back inside to the tv. I am SOOOO sick of cbeebies.

accessorizequeen · 07/01/2010 19:32

belly dancing sounds grand imo, Eli and Jabber!

hope you have a lovely time, castles, you well deserve it!

EVye · 09/01/2010 11:50

Hi all.

Had a letter through this morning inviting dd2 for swine flu jab. The appointment was this morning! Eek. In 2 minds about the jab but had it dones anyway as if we didnt do it and she became seriously ill we would never get over it. Good that we had no time to dwell. It did mean we had to clear drive a bit more though.

castlesintheair · 09/01/2010 12:04

We got one of those EV which disappeared in the mess that is my house.

jabberwocky · 09/01/2010 15:47

We haven't really heard much about it around here. I read somewhere it's really widespread only in one state now.
