Oh go on then.

I'm rubbish at titles though but I bow down to Oli's cakes and supermum.

SherryMerryLennipillar · 23/12/2009 20:28

Happy Birthday Indith's DD. I'll come to Hull anytime, and would love to arrange to meet all you southerners sometime too, we must do it, would be lovely.

Saw Oli last week to collect a cake from her - it was absolutely amazing. PILs were blown away, thank you Oli

DD has flu poor mite, it's enough being born 3 days after Christmas without having flu for both events hopefully she'll make a speedy recovery. DS has a chest infection, never rains...

Merry Christmas everyone if don't make it on before. You've been a great support to me too over the year and I wish you all a lovely relaxing Christmas with your families and a prosperous and Happy 2010!

SherryMerryLennipillar · 23/12/2009 20:29

Jabber - one day for sure, maybe when they are 10!!

accessorizequeen · 23/12/2009 20:35

I knew it was her birthday soon, but forgot it was xmas eve, indith, happy birthday to dd hope she survives jabs & teething to enjoy it!

meet up would be fab fab fab and yes, happy pills working for me too, I'm just coping with it all with smile on my face really. DD has been quite ill since last week and just started recovering today poor mite. She didn't speak/babble whatever or walk for 3 days, I missed her! DP enjoyed the cuddles, he normally doesn't get many.

hope dd gets better soon, lenni, has ds had his birthday already or is he Jan have completely forgotten? DS3 still really wonky on his feet after a couple of weeks, he clings onto any nearby wall still. So enthusiastic about life tho, he's great.

Trying to buy dd a winter coat etc as she's outgrown everything and sure there are things left to wrap.

margo, hope you're still warm?

merry xmas and wellness iykwim to everyone

EVye · 24/12/2009 09:37

Hi everyone, Merry Christmas to all of you and s all round.

MaHumbug · 24/12/2009 11:57

Merry Xmas to y'all.

Went to Classic FM Christmas Spectacular last night. The host was Mylene "did you know I had a child?" Klass. (that was for my sisters benefit)

We're at my mums for the next few days. So nice and warm and happy. Xmas delivery yesterday (which we were told was going to arrive on 1st January ) So we have Xmas presents for everybody, did a little wrapping last night and hope to be flu-free by tomorrow.

Elibean · 24/12/2009 17:46

Sorry all got festively on top of me. Nothing bad, just very busy, limping and cold-ridden

But off to my Mum's tomorrow, all siblings coming too (yipee!) and nearly packed....

Merry Christmas lovely, lovely people!

jabberwocky · 24/12/2009 20:35

We're having a nice day, kids are playing and we're all having too much fudge

accessorizequeen · 27/12/2009 15:39

Hope you all had a lovely day/days! We're off to IL's tomorrow for another xmas lunch, braved the sales today for an hour or so. So tired, but sure you all are too. AD's worked great up until xmas eve & then I lost it at xmas lunch and started crying . Hope it's a glitch. How is everyone else??

jabberwocky · 27/12/2009 16:33

I had a short meltdown yesterday AQ. Being home with the kids for several straight days is not my forte.

OTOH, dh reworked an old trophy in his studio that says Mommy of the Year on it for my Christmas surprise I didn't see that one coming. He also found a wonderful retro floor lamp and a vintage t-shirt for my collection. I was fairly wow-ed this year.

MaHumbug · 27/12/2009 20:23

Ahh Jabber, isn't that lovely?

We'e been at my parents since 23/12 and had a lovely time. Although we had to go to Emergency docs for dd2 as we couldn't control her temp. She has an ear on the verge of perforating and he was worried about the sound of her chest.

jabberwocky · 27/12/2009 23:01

poor dd2! Can they do anything to prevent eardrum rupture?

castlesintheair · 28/12/2009 11:41

Merry Christmas everyone. Hope you have survived. AQ, my Dad reduced me to tears on Xmas eve (after vowing never to let him upset me again). 'Tis the season I'm afraid. Hope DD2 is better Margo.

We are now in Cornwall on our own and life is suddenly very chilled again, and lovely

Elibean · 28/12/2009 14:06

Own is good, eh, Castles? We're just back (last night) from my Mum's. It was good, mostly because my sister (whose d(?)h left after 30 yrs 3 yrs ago, in unpleasant conditions to say the least) is in love and utterly obsessed and therefore hysterically funny

Its nice to be home though. Yes, AQ, also shattered though probably not half as much reason to be as you....and had a meltdown on Xmas morning trying to get everyone packed and out of the house. Yelled at everyone then cried on dh Actually did some good though, because dd1 (who was being fairly obnoxious due to getting up at crack of dawn to open stockings) was impressed and we all ended up singing in the car en route to Oxford. Still though, I really did lose it.

Crying over lunch sounds much more genteel

Margo, poor little dd, hope she's better now? Ears so painful, I remember well.

This is the first winter when we've got this far without hospital visits with dd2, and its lovely. She's permanently stuffed up/streaming, but otherwise so well.

Jabber, yeay for dh and the trophy: you deserve it!

Anyone have snow over the weekend? Am sort of missing it now its gone...

Elibean · 28/12/2009 14:07

First bit doesn't read right without tone of voice: meant 'on our own IS good, isn't it' - not ?. IYSWIM.

SherryMerryLennipillar · 28/12/2009 22:02

We've still got a little snow Eli - not a lot, just a couple of inches and a lot of ice really. It looks suitably festive though.

DD finally recovered from flu - possibly of the swine variety, docs not sure - she's lost 1.5kg in a week though and still chesty and not eating. At least her temp is down, was 39-40 for nearly a week, many times I nearly took her to A&E. Am suitably worried about her chest now, but GPs open again tomorrow so at least I can offload my worries in the morning. She turned 3 today, wasn't the most exciting of birthdays but she has a trip out tomorrow if well enough and a party in Jan to look forward to.

AQ - DS is 1 on 7th Jan, not long now. He is properly walking now, still crawling as well but walks around the room at home. Looks like frankenstein with the way he holds his arms out in front of him. Hope you are getting some rest now you are home.

Margo - hope DD2 better soon, really not fair on them being poorly at this time of year is it.

Have a lovely time in Cornwall Castles, whereabouts are you staying?

SherryMerryLennipillar · 28/12/2009 22:05

Awww Jabber, trophy sounds so lovely. Nice to hear him getting a good report card from you too - when you look back on this time last year it must be an amazing difference.

Elibean · 29/12/2009 11:37

Poor dd, Lenni, I didn't know she had flu...does sound swiney, doesn't it. Happy happy birthday to her, and a fast recovery as her main present (to both of you!).

re the snow. Not the ice, though.

castlesintheair · 29/12/2009 12:21

Lenni, that sound's like the 'bug' DD2 had. I did wonder if it was SF when I rang NHS direct (very unlike me) and the nurse asked if she had had a cough. Hey ho, she is better now and hope your DD is soon too.

Eli, I knew exactly what you meant

Pissing with rain in Cornwall and looking at health farm breaks which DH promised to give me for Xmas

MaHumbug · 29/12/2009 16:20

Castles - I fully recommend Ragdale Hall for a health farm break. Pricey (we went pre-kids) but heavenly.

dd2 got worse on the 27th and had a night of hallucinations and vomiting. GP said to look out for a deterioration of breathing which she had and we went to A&E at 5am. Thankfully she improved and we were able to take her home.

following on from this
My DBIL went to outpatients today and now he has to have his jaw operated on and have 2 plates put in to help mend the bone. He was admitted today and the op is tomorrow.

accessorizequeen · 29/12/2009 19:22

Have been off to IL's for a couple of days plus my mobile (which I read email & mumsnet on!) is not working because ds1 dropped my iphone in the toilet on xmas day!! Argggghhhh. My life is on my phone and can't access any of it. Anyhoo, happy birthday to lennitoddler (or is she really preschooler now, in fact doesn't she start nursery next month?)! Poor little mite with flu at christmas. Hard to know about swine flu, ds1 & 2 had it phaps in the summer, I'll never know really but it's rotten anyway. In case I forget by Jan (and don't have a phone to text!) happy pre-birthday to ds, I bet he and ds3 could have a little robot race couldn't they? Thinking of buying shoes for ds3 this week as he's pretty steady now.

And poor dd2, margo, god what a rotten run of luck for your family, your poor BIL as well!

Castles, your dad did that to you, my dad's lovely by letter/phone/email but not great confronted by real life esp 4 dc's. Hope you're having lovely time in cornwall, I so want to go there next summer!

Aside from phone in toilet & meltdown christmas has been ok, is it awful to say I'm glad it's over & I can take the (pathetic, baubleless as we couldn't find them!) tree down now?! Far too many thorntons and ferrero rocher which I don't even like fgs! DD has just thrown up all over me, just when I thought it was all over...

How did all the dc's enjoy their playmobil etc for birthday/xmas? DS2 hasn't played with his at all, but the puzzles (too many to count) are getting a good workout. House covered with lego bits as well, this is the future with 3 boys isn't it?

EVye · 29/12/2009 21:06

Hi All.

DD2 likes the playmobil she got. Vet range.

Castles - I would recommend Ragdale Hall too although it has been a very long time since I was there.

SherryMerryLennipillar · 29/12/2009 21:13

So glad DD2 improving Margo - my heart skipped when you said about going to A&E, poor things.

LOL at your lego future AQ I'm condemned to blinking Peppa Pig and Winnie the Pooh, which don't cause such severe foot injuries as lego, but take a mental toll. Puzzles gone down well here too - playmobil is a hit but far far far too small to have out when DS even vaguely conscious so that's been relegated to the cupboard where it will remain for the next 2 years I'd imagine, by which time I hope DS might have given up on this mouthing phase which is currently driving me bonkers. IIRC DD stopped putting things in her mouth suddenly after months of mouthing everything, am hoping DS stops abrubtly sometime tomorrow.

We're going back to docs tomorrow with DD - she's down to 13kg from 16kg now and has had diarrhoea all day today after eating a tiny amount of toast for breakfast and a few grapes for lunch. Even if they send me with a flea in my ear I'll be glad to have had her checked out. She is playing and lively again so hoping it will just take a few more days before she'll eat. She starts preschool on 6th Jan AQ, I'm not thinking about it, I'll cry, I know I will.

We should definitely plan something soon with all the Mark IIs - I'm trying to have a frugal January but after that would love to do something.

Anyone heard from Oli lately? It was her DS2's birthday yesterday too - Happy Birthday!

I'm off to look at that spa you mentioned Margo and pull faces no doubt!!

accessorizequeen · 29/12/2009 23:28

Oh, lenni, poor dd, ds1 lost loads of weight last winter and we were so worried about him. Could you put off nursery for a couple of weeks if you don't feel she's well enough? I'm starting the dt's for visits that week too. I hope you'll find it easier than you think esp when you get to spend some extra time with ds. I've got the dt's to myself for first time in a week or more as dp at work for a day tomorrow and we left ds1 & 2 at the IL's for a couple of days - they didn't even wave us goodbye so keen to stay!

LOL re playmobil, we had to hide some of the small bits but generally the older two play with non-baby friendly stuff at the dining table much to ds3's frustration! I love it though, I'd happily roleplay with it for hours!

jabberwocky · 30/12/2009 01:39

I'm so sorry to hear about all the sick babies. And at the thread about your DBIL margo. How is he doing?

Ds1 was rather about his gifts. It's so hard to find something he likes. Ds2 got a remote controlled Star Wars gunship (he made SURE we knew that's what he wanted) so now have used Ds1's gift certificate for one as well. He became quite fascinated with it and I could see that war would break out any moment if we did not get a second one pronto!

castlesintheair · 30/12/2009 08:49

Margo, your poor BIL . Hope he is ok. DH was kicked and shoved for parking his car on public road outside a neighbour's house from 10pm-5am a few months ago. People are remarkably violent about such trivial things.

Sorry to hear about all the lurgies. Hope everyone is better soon.

Lenni, we are on North coast of Cornwall, near Crackington Haven. Don't know if you know it.

Off to check out Ragdale Hall, thanks for the advice. Might go to Grayshott which I've been to before as it was lush. Sorry, can't stop quoting G&S at moment
