Hello,

Am very jealous of all the baked beans and cheddar cheese chat. Not easy things to source here - you can get some tinned beans, but they are mexican and not quite right.

DH will eat anything but he is always a bit when I serve up potatoes as the main feature of a meal.

Must go and tidy, cook spaghetti and sort.

Am feeling tired and tired mostly. Suspect that it is a non sleeping baby and being pregnant that is causing the problem. Am taking the sit down and hope that things get better without any proactive action on my side approach.

Also, food is a bit stressful with DS. I cooked him a not very exciting supper of boiled potatoes, eggs and carrots to take the the park with us. But definitely a meal that he will usually eat. We met the rest of the baby group, and when it came to the other babies eating he cried (very loud) because he wanted their food and not his (they weren't eating anything very exciting either). So we came home.

NL could you try mixing other food with the yoghurt (you can't trick DS with this, but apparently it works with some other babies) - e.g. yoghurt and cereal, or yoghurt and sliced banana etc.

But what do I know ...

But my ILs have been very supportive this week, and I have bought DS some reins as he can walk just about now, but he gets too excited, goes too fast and falls forward, so they are acting as a kind of brake.

Morning

Breakfast on me. No posh coffee though, or pastries, or croissants. You may wish to get your own

Sorry you are feeling knackered lwfh. Rest and lovely food are the way to go IMO . We too are having food refusal, but now by both DD's . Trying not to get stressed but i agree, tis difficult

Sazz I'm with VG, lets put his name down

morning all else

alittlebitshy · 03/10/2009 10:57

lwfh sorry you're tired and having food issues. But even as grown up, everyone else's packed lunch always looks better than one's own. no? is it just me

cc loving BONTO! fabbo. must try that description.

well, today i have a day off. a day on my own, no kiddos, just me. wow.

Dh has just left to take teh children to Whipsnade. Will spend the day worrying that he'll have an accident/the kids will get e-coli from petting the animal/ he'll drop ds/ lose ds's shoes etc etc.

In a mo I need a shower than am off to the tube to meet a friend in Oxford street and go to the cinema. woohoo!!!! I told her i may lapse and offer to wipe her nose and cheer when she walks without falling over. She seemed happy with this .

have a good day all.

Words of wisdom there on the packed lunch albs.

In my experience, somewhere around each birthday children find it harder to concentrate on sitting down and eating, until they are about 4.

I spend each mealtime at the moment reminding Maud to stop talking and start eating. She just can't stop talking at all.
And DD1 just keeps trying to stand up in her chair.

I never change what I offer, though I am reasonably happy to put food into the mouth of a passing toddler if they are being really fussy about sitting down.

I've had chicken soup here Sazzles and it was really comforting. The new potatoes were on for the children and all buttery, so I ate them just because.

I can't stop being sick though if I eat anything non-plain which is upsetting me a bit.

I might make some more dhal later as that seems the best food solution so far. Even DD1 stopped talking long enough to eat a bowl of it the other day.

I had hit my weight target on DH's birthday, so now I just look a bit skeletorish ...

God, this is all about me. Please ignore.

lwfh · 03/10/2009 13:08

ah, thank you for the food wisdom, reassurance. I was also going to say thank you for the teeth brushing advice a while back as now DS gets 5 brushes front, middle and back, top and bottom. More useful for me than him as after this I will stop anyway without prolonging the experience, and occasionally he will smile and participate by sticking his tongue out (useful) rather than cry, so maybe we are making progress!

Hello and good morning to everyone. Facturas for breakfast here as it is the weekend.

RL I hope that you continue to get a bit better.

lwfh · 03/10/2009 13:11

PS dizzy, re: baby naming, thank you for the advice. DH said about Alyssa "Doesn't sound very Spanish" which I am sure that he just uses as an excuse sometimes ... but the initials MAAT are quite nice!

LoveBuckets · 03/10/2009 13:42

Helloooooo!!! Flying visit to say hi, am off to singing workshop soon followed by American supper followed by friend's album launch gig which DH is also attending sans enfants. Already planning our posh breakfast and paper-reading out tomorrow morning. Then I'm taking big kids out with friends to country park for lazy afternoon watching kids run about, weather permitting.

Have a good weekend guys.

Sorry to bring the thread down AGAIN but I think I'm losing the baby, I have started bleeding and DH has gone into total emotional shut down and won't even discuss it with me. The EPU isn't open until MOnday and it is all generally going tits up here.

Oops - my dear girl, how awful for you.

Can you go into A&E anyway possibly? DH might feel better to be able to do something practical in that way?

Is your mum about at the moment to help at all?

We're here of course too.
