Febes · 30/09/2009 22:05

IKWYM Ses I walk around picking up after DH. I get up after him and there are breakfast things and stuff everywhere. It is petty things but wait till you have a toddler. Some of the things he leaves around the place are dangerous makes me .

sausagenmash · 30/09/2009 22:13

Ses - eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!

FFS. Just googled 'honeymoon nightwear' - God, the pictures make Katie Price look tame. Why on EARTH would I want to take a butt plug on my honeymoon?!!!!!

Help. I'm getting miserable trying to find something nice and pretty, bit of lace and stuff, not crotchless pants and whips. Bloody hell. You know, the flowy wispy stuff Krystal Carringtoncolbydexter used to wear in Dynasty. Sans the shoulderpads and naffness, natch.

Jennster · 30/09/2009 22:16

sausage just had 2 glasses of wine.

Reebee glad F is OK.

Momino I have the spare room covered in clothes ready to pack up for my NCT Nearly New in a few weeks. I can't believe I'm going to iron stuff for strangers, I never ironed for my dc.

Spangle So sorry to hear about your Mil. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Dandy Hope your sil is improving

Tummum You make me laugh every time you type Momino's name. It's great news though your dd. Well done!

essenceofSES · 30/09/2009 22:30

Hi Jenn - are you ready to be a responsible pharmacist as of tomorrow?! Do you think we've been irresponsible thus far?!

DS just woke screaming bless him. I can see where his second bottom tooth is going to burst through. Have given him a dose of calpol so hope that helps.

Febes - our problem is he sees anything I Ieave lying around and vice versa. at toddler danger...

Tummum · 30/09/2009 22:33

Jenn I knew I was typing it wrong, honest . Sorry Momino.... How's the ironing going?

Spangle thinking of you and your family. What a difficult time for you all

Sausage you're nuts, you are !

Reebee so glad you got the all clear for F today, great news.

Looby great to hear from you, although I can't believe you are back already. How was it?

Well, I am feeling a bit daft because

  1. I pulled the boot down on top of my head this afternoon, and now have a large lump on the side of my head and a cracking headache. Serve me right for being a tit
  1. I signed up to sell these (lovely) cards, and now my lounge is littered with them and I am thinking "What the F have I done?! There's no way I will sell them all before Christmas. Ooops. And a consignment of toys is also on it's way for me to sell for Christmas too. Sh1.
  1. I have been spelling (now let me think about this) Momino's name wrong for the past year . Sorry again
Belgianchocolates · 30/09/2009 22:42

Sorry momi I really did go away and do useful stuff. After that I did some less usefull stuff and I'm now watching about 10 snowsuits for C. Mainly boy ones aparently little girls aren't supposed to wear cute teddybear snow suits, unless they're white or pink off course
Also watching a few tops for myself, but there was nothing I liked. Well, no I'm lying. There was stuff I liked, but about half the women on eBay like it too and so the bids go up high. Sorry, I'm rambling. I'm going to stop now.

looby Go back 3 or 4 pages and you'll know all about our photoshoot.

sausagen Have you had a look on Figleaves? No but plugs there. Some wine for me too please. I'm craving a glass ever since last weekend when I was supposed to get one and it didn't happen. I'm waiting til the weekend though. I look at a bottle of wine and sadly see lots and lots of calories Why do nice things always have to be fattening.

pula C's changing her sleeping habits too. Luckily no waking in the night (yet), but the last 3 nights she's not been going to sleep quietly like she used to. She's been crying and been taking about 15-20 min to fall asleep. It used to be bed, thumb, fall asleep. It's like she's forgotten she's got a thumb, because she doesn't take it straightaway anymore

llareggub · 30/09/2009 22:45

I have a very sneaky suspicion that I've been spelling it wrong too Tummum I think have mlexyia.

sausage on my wedding night we had to call upon the services of the best man to help DH get me out of the bloody dress. It had taken a crochet hook to get me in it due to the v small buttons but I hadn't thought about the evening. I'll never forget his face when he was summoned to the room! So, if you have a dress with teeny tiny buttons, make sure you carry a crochet hook at all times. Have you bought the Boden stuff yet? Did you know mumsnetters get 10% off? If you are buying more than 3 items, I have a code that allows you to buy the 4th item for a pound: A382.

Spangle thinking of you and your family.

Belgianchocolates · 30/09/2009 22:45

tummum I used to misspel momino's name all the time too. I've taken to abbreviatiing lately, cause that way I can't make mistakes.

Good luck with the card and toys selling.

Night night everyone. Today I'm going to bed early. I mean it. It's been 11.30 for the last few nights and I feel very tired.

llareggub · 30/09/2009 22:46

it Momino sorry to call you it! I didn't mean it to come out like that.

Sorry
Sorry
Sorry

Belgianchocolates · 30/09/2009 22:48

Oh, 1 more thing. If you use Ocado you get 15% off + free delivery. I'll dig out the code from my recycling bin tomorrow. I should have thought of sharing it with you

Momino · 30/09/2009 23:06

jennster, I don't usually iron for my DD's either and find it ironic (get it 'iron'ic?) to be ironing for sales. hoping it impresses people to buy (get it, im'presses'?).

so. ironing finished. I've also loaded the dishwasher, put in laundry, took a shower and ready to settle with my cuppa tea.

tummum, I looove you spelling my name wrong. please don't correct it. i feel it's an endearment thing (right?) . in fact, i'm thinking of changing my MN name to monimo. sausagen, butt-plug

ses, ikwym re: leaving the freezer door open. there are also 1) crumbs left on the worktop, 2) socks on the bedroom floor, 3) water on the bathroom floor (all over the bathroom floor) after a shower, 4) leaving the fridge door open, 5) there's more but i can't think.

now i can't post properly because DH just got back from watching footie and is looking over my shoulder. aargh

Momino · 30/09/2009 23:12

llare, i never would have notice the it but it's very kind of you to apologise. please, no offence taken .

also rofl at the best man helping your DH with the buttons. you must never hear the end of that one, eh?

belgian, haven't used Ocado yet but would do for 15% off and free delivery!

am going to bed soon as well so I can dream about ironing before little ones wake me up in an hour.

Momino · 30/09/2009 23:14

oh, and reggiee, don't think I didn't notice you've sat on my ironing...

SpangleMaker · 01/10/2009 00:00

Hi all, thanks for the good wishes. We've just come back from an evening at my Dad's as he lives round the corner from the hospital - we got H to sleep in the moses basket while we had a nice meal. MIL's op went well, better than the doctors thought it would apparently. So hopefully she'll be ok to go home in a few days.

Looby welcome back. Hope you had a fab time.

Ironing - what's that? Actually, I had my picture in a magazine once and it was of me ironing

llare very funny about best man and buttons. I'd have paid to see his face

Momino · 01/10/2009 05:55

spangle, glad you MIL's op went well and hope she's home soon.

just put H back into her basket and she's awake but now quiet. she woke at 2am and yelled even when i picked her up, pounding her head against my shoulder (extreme rooting action) so I fed her. she went back into basket and slept until 5.15am. i left her yelling, tried a dummy twice, had DH pick her up but she did the extreme rooting thing again.

so she does seem genuinely hungry at these times. i don't see how i can settle her without feeding. i'm going to surrender. or at least go peruse the feeding/sleeping threads since i'm awake now.

hope you're all sleeping well.

Tummum · 01/10/2009 07:46

Morning all, especially Monimo (sic!) . Glad your im'pressive 'iron'ing went well.

Spangle glad the op went well.

Dandy how is your SIL?

Well, the sleep training on G seems to be going OK. He woke up at 3am but only talked to himself for 10 mins and then slept until 6am. Yay ! Shame DD1 woke me up after a bad dream at 4am. Hopefully tomorrow G won't wake at all and I will have a nice sleep. The main reason I am trying sleep training is because G slept through from quite an early stage, and only started waking up on holiday, and I think this was because I kept on feeding him when he woke up so he wouldn't wake the rest of the caravan (and campsite) up. Also, when he fed in the night he wasn't interested much in feeding in the morning, so I wanted to encourage him to feed in the morning rather than during the night. Anyway, glad my nasty-Mummy-ignoring tactics seem to be working.

I'm off to get DC ready for skool and try and start selling some cards.

LoobyLou36 · 01/10/2009 07:46

morning

spangle good news about MIL's op

sorry not to reply to anyone last night - was shattered and M woke for a feed at 10 so went to bed after

re: flight
I was so worried about keeping M entertained at airport and on plane but she BF and fell asleep on me for an hour in departures, we got on the plane she was all smiles at the stewards then as soon as we sat in our seat she noisily filled her nappy , she then BF during take off. Mmmm that was an experience - changing M in a confined space during turbulence but she was all smiles again, the air stewards even looked after her so that I could go to the loo.

She then alternatively BF and slept all the way without a murmur even slept thro the quite bumpy landing!

Coming back she slept on take off, grumbled briefly twice - once when she filled her nappy and then cos she was tired so BF her to sleep and again she slept thro bumpy landing.

So M is now a seasoned traveller! she was the youngest on the flight too.

M slept much better in Majorca too. One night 10.5hrs!!
Two nights 9hrs. I think it was she was warmer so last night I put a vest under her babygrow and she's in a warmer sleeping bag. She went in her cot at 7.30, woke at 10 for a feed back down at 10.25 and she's only just stirring now .

I think we might be waking her up when we move around, DH snoring etc, etc. Thinking it might be time to move her to her own room?
Any thoughts? Will be a big wrench tho not having her next to me .

sorry - me, me, me

LoobyLou36 · 01/10/2009 07:52

there's an NCT sale locally here on Saturday - might take a look - want to buy M a Jumperoo.

Have highchair sorted now too - SIL in London has picked up one in IKEA for me and she's down to visit next week so we can try M in it

Think M is ready for weaning now too - 23wks. On holiday when she was sat on our laps she kept trying to grap our food . My DH gave in and ended up giving her a pizza crust to naw (sp?) on - she loved it - will post pic.

LoobyLou36 · 01/10/2009 07:56

tummum how's the head today? Ouch!!

ses know what you mean about DH annoying habits, my DH is always taking his socks off on the living room floor by rubbing them off - then leaves them there all night! Grrr! and he puts dirty plates etc. in the sink at night and puts a little water in and then leaves them - particularly yukky if we have curry - scummy, greasy water in the morning

LoobyLou36 · 01/10/2009 08:01

can you tell I'm sat on the sofa BF?

waffle, waffle, waffle

LoobyLou36 · 01/10/2009 08:53

Help - need some advice.

We're going to a christening on Sunday, my friends with a baby girl one week older than M and a little boy 3yrs old both being christened - what do I buy them for presents? Haven't got much spare cash - do you think I should just put some money in a card for their accounts or is that naff?

Belgianchocolates · 01/10/2009 09:30

Sorry, last night I meant Ocado customers got 15% off + free delivery at Boden. I didn't make that very clear, did I. I still need to dig the code out, so those of you who want to do some Boden shopping. Hang on a minute until I had a chance to riffle throug the waste paper bin. As for Ocado, I did get £30 off this week for returning to them after a 3m absense. That's not to be sniffed at

Looby When the other dds were christened they got a little teddy like this. I thought it was really sweet and I'm pretty sure you can find a similar thing for a little cheaper.

DH's Mine does the leaving clothes on the floor thing too + he takes his shoes off at various places and then expects me to know where they are

Right gotta go. Lots to do today + C's just done a poo and i'm going to put her in the bath. Morning baths seem to suit her better.

ReeBee · 01/10/2009 10:43

Morning everyone

Thanks for all your good wishes about F, I feel so happy and relieved.

More good news - we've found a house in the Lakes!! Just to rent but they'll take the entire menagerie and it's only 2 miles from my mum and dad. It's a farm cottage, detached, 3 beds, with its own barn. Hurrah. And the people buying ours (who had reduced their offer following the survey) called yesterday to increase it again. 3 good things in one day, brilliant.

Looby so pleased that you had a good holiday and M (and you) coped well with the flights.

night waking F is now waking twice in the night - he's 4 months today so maybe a growth spurt but I'm not even sure how hungry he is. Tummum, am very interested in your sleep training. Would you only get G if he cried? How long do you have to do it for before they sort themselves out? I'm not sure I have the willpower to ignore F - even when he wakes up and just gets restless I go to him; I've never waited until he cries in the night to feed him. I'm terrified of becoming the NSPCC advert!! Agree with Looby though, might be time for F to have his own room and his cot. Sigh. How quickly time passes.

DHs - eugh to those of you with DHs who take their socks off by rubbing them on the floor. That's repellent! Belgian, am with you on the taking off the shoes and scattering them liberally around the house. DH does it with his belt, too - it's always either on the dining room table or the lounge windowsill. He also walks past the empty dishwasher to put his dirty bowl / plate / mug in the sink. Why?! We've had a dishwasher for all of the 5 years we've been together; it's not a new addition fgs!

Spangle pleased the news on the op was good.

Question - we have a travel system with a pram / carry cot base, car seat, and pushchair. I try not to use the car seat with the wheels as I've heard it's better for LOs to lie flat where possible. However, the last couple of days while walking the dogs F has become fed up with the view from the pram of sky-trees-sky-sky and has whinged until I've picked him up and carried him. When have / are you making the move from pram to pushchair? He's ok with holding his head up and I would only use it for short excursions when he's wide awake. He still loves his pram when I'm out for the day and he gets picked out for cuddles in cafes etc, and can nap in it when he's tired.

OMG epic post, sorry!

Belgianchocolates · 01/10/2009 10:56

reebee Congrats on the house. Great news. It sounds perfect and so close to your mum too.
I think from 4mo los are OK to be a bit more upright. A lot of the umbrella folding strollers are not completely flat and are from 4m. I think he should be OK to sit a bit more upright when awake. What travel system is it? With some the seat unit goes quite flat. Maybe it's time to switch to that so he can be a bit more upright when awake and then you can drop the backrest to go back to flat for sleeping

Right I really need to step away from the computer now and do something useful (will be back with vouchercode later)

Belgianchocolates · 01/10/2009 11:03

Right, Boden voucher code. Go to boden.co.uk/ca (for some reason). Voucher code is LNCA. That gives you 15% off, free delivery + a free chunky cord bag if you spend over £150. This code is also valid on the Miniboden range
