OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Moose, your ds1 obviously did need some more clothes. I've had a few shopping accidents lately, though we also had to get ds1 a winter coat.

Dog, congratulations but it seems a lot to take on a horse.

MissJ, it sounds like a real dilemma, no advice to offer. I'm sure N would be ok through it. Perhaps worth doing as a one off but if this was likely to be a recurring pattern of working it does sound really hard.

My friend came and helped me this morning for a couple of hours while C at CM. Downstairs slightly cleaner and tidier than it was, I'm assuming that kids' toys left out all over the place shouldn't be unacceptable to a children's social worker. As for my own clutter, well....

missjackson · 13/10/2009 01:41

Feeding so excuse 1 handed typing. Gumps, sending big hugs your way - glad you felt better after some proper food. Afternoon nap sounds great idea. Agree also you should visit docs, for reassurance if nothing else. Colds can drag on and on though, so fingers crossed it is nothing more serious.

tree 4 days away from babies sounds tough - guess it is the reality of working life. At least they are with nanny though so you know they are getting lots of cuddles. And at least shift work means hopefully you will get lots of long days with H.... that reminds me, how has J been at school recently?

Lenni I would def give yourself the time at home, for DCs sake not just yours. You will be able to make it all very calm and consistent for them at first, before you start work. All at once could be tough. Hope you find fab job.

dog new baby is seriously gorgeous. If you ever wanted to put her to stud for a year, we have 2 handsome boys who would be happy to oblige

Think the job offer is a bit of a no-brainer really... just need to get the PILs onside as OH would be leaving the farm for 2 months. Would be able to farm out all horses except stallions. OH is very keen to make it work - he is very pragmatic and thinking of the £, whereas I am worried about N missing mummy, and mummy missing most of first xmas!

WOW, he slept from 8.30pm - 1am. This is longest stretch for months and months. Now back to sleep so I should sneak to bed too. Hope you are all sleeping peacefully as I type this ....

tinkbig · 13/10/2009 11:51

newspaperdelivery · 13/10/2009 13:15

Hello all.

Great you got some rest MissJ. Hope you got a nap this am?

I'll get 5 days off, which is good, although maybe nights and days in the week and split days and 3 together and all that. It's going to be a nightmare really - they will sleep out a lot

Nothing can be done about it though.

Good uelk, when is the visit?

newspaperdelivery · 13/10/2009 13:15

newspaperdelivery · 13/10/2009 17:01

PatTheHammer · 13/10/2009 17:21

Anyway, Dog, I will message you on FB later about next week and I will have to keep in touch with you, Lenni and MissJ via text I guess.

Big waves and hugs to everyone else. gumps hope you are all better soon.

For Moose www.nordickids.co.uk/detail.asp/sku=UE061/d=7

Hello all. Feeling a bit crook. Bleurgh.

moosemama · 13/10/2009 21:32

News Don't you go getting poorly now. Remember - PMA - and repeat after me "I will not get ill, I will not get ill"!

Pat congratulations on everything going through. Good luck with your move, we will miss you and look forward to you coming back and telling us all about your new home.

I am feeling so much better now those poison pills antibiotics are out of my system. I feel like I have my brain back. I've got quite a lot done today and even managed bedtime for all 3 dcs on my own as dh was out at a meeting.

Ds2 is still home ill, but much better really. He has been using a super game I found online to learn his times tables. It is the most fantastic idea, as its a proper 3d high quality graphic game and you defeat the baddies by doing times tables calculations. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. We downloaded the free version and he has been begging for me to buy the full version for Christmas. Its here if anyone is interested.

moosemama · 13/10/2009 21:35

Just searched that site and discovered the mini moose range. Perfect for dd. Love the purple moose stuff in particular though.

moosemama · 13/10/2009 21:37

I keep finding myself strangely drawn to this top for some reason. Have been tempted to buy it on several occasions.

newspaperdelivery · 13/10/2009 21:57

Oh that top is fab. Both my dd's would look insane in black or I'd be sooooo tempted. Those moosey pants look very comfortable don't they? I think they woul dbe luch for pj's to school run for dd2. I hate undressing her in the morning, she is so cosy and it's so cold out. So I sling her in the sling and never mind. Those pants would be just the thing! Plus I would be reminded of you Moose, and our thread

Great you are better - I had to have some awful cocktail to clear helicobacter. I nearly had to take the week off work

Aching bones and tight chest.....also a bit of the upset tummy thang earlier.....

I'll be fine

moosemama · 13/10/2009 22:27

O dear News, sounds like what dh and I have just had and ds1 currently has. Keep up the mantra - it worked for me.

I used to get dd up and into a nice outfit every morning for the school run, but now its so cold in the mornings, I am loving the opportunity to just shove a snowsuit over her sleepsuit and sort her out when we get back. [lazy Moose emoticon] Dd has this snowsuit which is so soft and silky with a really cuddly super soft lining. I have had so many positive comments about it as she looks and feels totally scrunchable in it. I originally bought the 0-6 month one to bring her home from hospital in, but she has only fitted into it for the first time this week.

Did you see the sort of all in one moosey dungarees and jumpsuits? Would be sorely tempted if I hadn't already blown the budget on dd's winter wardrobe.

I just need some winter footwear for dd now. I want to get her some boots and a pair of nice but fairly universal (colour wise) shoes. I quite like the Inch Blue Mary Janes, but they seem a bit pricey to me for pram shoes really.

Stripey have answered you on your other thread.

moosemama · 13/10/2009 22:29

Photo doesn't really do that snowsuit justice. The spots on the bottom and feet act as grippers as well as decoration, which is great as they stop her slipping down in her pushchair.

newspaperdelivery · 13/10/2009 22:35

You have excellent taste Moose. Is the suit slippery? I got a lovely one from M&S [aqua colour with big spots] but it is like tent material and I can barely get a grip of dd. Not good with bookbags, pe bags, hats, coats and so on being off loaded onto me!

Although she is usually in the sling, tbh I don't think she would fit well the suit is so thick. It's going back

newspaperdelivery · 13/10/2009 22:39

Those inch blue generally stay on very well. I might have to show you the answer for warm feet.....sorry! here These bridge gap between trouser and socks, and are totally marvellous in every way. The brown is simply cotton over the to of the merino to protect the fabric. I heart them.

stripeywoollenhat · 13/10/2009 22:45

moose - thanks. am relieved (but also sorry, obviously) that i am not the only one who is creaking about.... and am going to creak my way up to bad now, am wiped. night all

moosemama · 13/10/2009 23:21

No the suit isn't that slippery, sort of suedey (sp?) really, but the bottom spots really help if she does start to slip at all. Its not too thick either. I gave up on her main snowsuit as she was like Maggie Simpson with her arms and legs all stuck out and unable to bend and I couldn't get the car seat harness around her. The Koodi snowsuit isn't padded or thick at all really, just super soft and lined with a sort of curly, silky soft imitation fur. Its probably the best thing she has for winter sling carrying. I truly do lurve it.

Those booties look good (but pricey). I saw some similar ones made out of normal fleece on Etsy and was sorely tempted.

Right, I have to crawl off to bed now too. I have had very little sleep so far this week.

Night all.

VeryHungryLennipillar · 13/10/2009 23:32

I love Nordic Kids - if only they would have a sale I have had a few bits from them in the past and they have lasted two babies well. I love their Swedish Moccasins - DD needs some more soon as her feet have had a big grow. They are the best slippers a child could ever find, she barely has hers off in winter. H&M usually do them at this time of year.

MissJ - so pleased you are going for it. Would be mad to pass up an offer like that methinks, especially since such a short term thing.

EachPeachPearMum · 14/10/2009 00:47

These are pretty good to bridge the gap between socks/shoes- they are moccassin slipper types- both mine have them, and they have loads of designs atm... for some reason only instore though, not on website On 3 for 2 as well, and only £6 so a pity not to

elkiedee · 14/10/2009 01:16

Pat, will miss you, good luck with everything going smoothly.

MissJ, a hard decision but well done for making it.

Social worker visit seemed to go quite well on the whole, she said she had no further concerns and she thought it might be possible to close the case, though she did have some advice and wants me to contact the GP about a cut behind Conor's ear. I don't want to speak to my GP ever again at the moment, I'm still very angry and upset, but I will ring the surgery tomorrow and dp has said he'll come with us.
