I hope that this will do you all as the last thread ran out.

Let the fun and chocolate eating commence...

Ispahan is a flavour combo created by Herme. Rose, lychee and raspberry I think.

Guimauve · 05/10/2009 14:57

If you want to draw her out, you could discuss whether macaroon or macaron is correct. Or just state that a good old coconut macaroon is better than any fancy-schmancy Parisian creation.

Catchup Lite as just about to head out to nursery run

Fei so for H's skin. No advice just as many good vibes as I can muster.

Auld the thing I've noticed with friends who did CC is that their babies then get VERY attached to the cot and often scream the place down if asked to sleep anywhere else. It would suit me at all if that happened, plus I don't fancy it. But Edmund is the most appalling sleeper at the moment so huge sympathies.

Gui I actually find mixed diet nappies easier to handle, though tis a shock at first.

Everyone knows that bananas cause black bits in poo, don't they? There is usually one in every antenatal class who rushes their child tothe doctors with worms or other dread disease after giving bananas for the first time (also try bananas and tomato on the same day for a real fright)

Get well soon Bebe

Bicnod - quite jealous of your swimming course.

Manic weekend chez nous - all good. Trips to see farm animals and Thomas and today the fair is in town so I'm going to push my luck and take the boys down their later.

Must dash.

AuldAlliance · 05/10/2009 15:02

Oh, you're good at this, Gui.
Must go and get DS1 from school and Alex from CM's.
I think, TBH, that she is busy on Avenue Montaigne buying pricy clothes.

Feierabend · 05/10/2009 15:17

Thanks everyone for Fanjo Warrior vibes and hand holding. Felt like I had a whole army of angry mums behind me

So GP was, predictably, hurt in his professional pride when I mentioned I was going to A&E as well ("People don't trust their GPs any more, I have been doing this job for 25 years"... etc.). Glad I did go though because we saw a lovely paed registrar, whose final verdict was that unfortunately Hazel does have eczema after all, it's got worse since the infection has cleared up and it's inflamed in places. The good news is that she was certain the infection is gone, which was my greatest worry in the last couple of days. So we're back to using creams and ointments to try to get on top of it. And the idiot GP was right for a change but hey who can blame me for not trusting him!

No weaning here, are we the last ones? I am amazed at the things your babies are eating!

Must go have a look at the spag bol thread now.. and have some chocolate...

dawntigga · 05/10/2009 15:21

Fei no weaning here either although Sam has started reaching for things now so we could be soon!

Guimauve · 05/10/2009 15:21

Hurrah for cleared infection but boooooooo for eczema. GPs must be used to it, and whinging is not the way to rebuild your confidence!

Guimauve · 05/10/2009 15:23

Your confidence in the GP. His whinging. Not sure that was clear!

bebemoo · 05/10/2009 15:37

Feiera once again I'm surprised at the 'service' you've been getting. I guess it can be very hard to determine what the problem is...but still 2 people that seem to be bounced around a bit by the NHS seems poor.
Thank goodness the infection is gone and you can now focus on the leftover eczema. Hopefully it all clears up soon.

Swaliswan · 05/10/2009 15:40

Afternoon All.

I've been absolutely obsessed by very busy with our cloth nappy trial. HOW much have you lot been chatting whilst I've been stuffing, poppering, folding, wshing and drying my massive modest stash of reusables?

BTW, Gui, I think you asked how I got into the cloth nappy trial. I'm doing it with Babykind and so far I'd thoroughly recommend them.

Is anyone else on here obsessed by the quest for the perfect reusable?

As for weaning...why am I bothering? How do I get B to open her mouth and eat some baby goo?!

Bicnod · 05/10/2009 15:41

bebe - bugger. at least you didn't drench the laptop... that's one better than me. sorry you haven't found the mobile yet - are you keeping an eye out on ebay?

auld - good girl. have a gold star.

mrsg - is that thomas the tank? oscar loves him so much...

fei so glad you got seen in a&e. stoopid GP. fingers crossed H will start getting better now you know for sure what's wrong.

Just got Oscar's photos done for his passport - hilarious

Bicnod · 05/10/2009 15:43

Hi swali - I use bumgenius v3 for Oscar and i love them... really easy to use... have you tried one yet?

Guimauve · 05/10/2009 15:44

Swali - did you buy or hire a trial kit?

Guimauve · 05/10/2009 15:46

Bicnod, we have a load of BG, so far unused. Qs: Do you use any kind of liner? How do you get on overnight? Do you use any booster pads? Do the elasticated edges seem to dig into his thighs/ groin?

Swaliswan · 05/10/2009 15:46

Hired a custom kit.

Hazel is trying to open the under stairs cupboard what does she think she'll find in there??? A secret stash of toys?

Yesterday we went to the park to collect conkers and although there are billions of chestnut trees there, not one single conker! The deer had eaten them all. Outrageous, no?

Swaliswan · 05/10/2009 15:49

Sorry for succint/ abrupt posts! One-handed, lying down typing

Swaliswan · 05/10/2009 15:52

Heehee, Fei! What would she find in the cupboard? Whatever it is, it probably would be a toy as far as she's concerned

OP posts:
Swaliswan · 05/10/2009 15:54

BTW, so far the winners are the bambinex, the nature babies classic wrap and the real easy nappy.

OP posts:
bebemoo · 05/10/2009 15:59

I use TotsBots and Little Lambs here. Tho sister in law likes fuzzi bunz.

I've been keeping an eye out on ebay and have a number of feelers out because many don't have the music the mobile plays (tho the mobile itself is different) One even seems to have the same looking 'box' so I'm hoping.

bebemoo · 05/10/2009 16:02

Personally I'd stay away from Motherease I dislike them. (though I have 15 of them I use in emergencies- I was given them)

Bicnod · 05/10/2009 16:03

Dammit - was trying to be a bumgenius temptress and failed

Gui - don't use any kind of liner. Double stuff sometimes as Oscar can wee for britain. the elastic doesn't dig in (and if it was going to dig into anyone's legs it would dig into oscar's as he is a little pudding) but has to be snug or they would leak. they are better at containing explosive poo than any of the disposables i've used. we do use one disposable overnight though as i don't think any cloth nappy could soak up a night's worth of my son's widdling.

O is currently lying on his playmat staring at me silently, I can see him out of the corner of my eye, he does this quite often. Weirdo.

Swaliswan · 05/10/2009 16:06

Bebe, are they onesize or sandys?

OP posts:
Feierabend · 05/10/2009 16:07

The hoover - she'd like that! And some stinky shoes from DH. And lots of plastic bags, she'd like those too but hardly a safe toy...
