I hope that this will do you all as the last thread ran out.

Let the fun and chocolate eating commence...

Off to bed. Bronze, fingers crossed for tomorrow! And hope poor Izy feels better very quickly.

AuldAlliance · 24/09/2009 21:32

Sorry, Fei, I was stuck in bedtime hell with a tired A who refused to go down, so I didn't see your plea for cheering up. Sounds as if you are having a rough time; hopefully once everyone gets over their bugs and infections you'll hit a smoother patch. Get a good night's sleep if you can (or is that a silly thing to even suggest? ).

Bronze, hope you get things sorted tomorrow. Good luck.

A seems to have got day and night muddled up; he's been waking and feeding every 2-3 hours in the night (while I suspect he partly wants to BF back to sleep, he does actually feed fairly hungrily) and then today he refused a bottle of EBM at the CM's, a perfectly good one that was definitely not sour, and that I had gone to great pains to express. So he had one bottle in the morning and then nothing till 5pm when we got home. Is it possible for him to have somehow reversed day and night?
I am exhausted, it feels as if all my energy is seeping away into my breast pump. Teaching starts next week and I am worried about how I'll cope with handling Friday evenings alone with the 2 boys to feed, bath and get to bed, after a huge long day of intensive classes.

Feierabend · 25/09/2009 08:25

Oh Auld, that does sound exhausting. Do you think he might make up for not seeing you during the day by feeding so much at night? Have read this can happen but not sure what the answer is, other than maybe giving him formula during the day so at least you don't have to express any more?

AuldAlliance · 25/09/2009 08:58

Morning Feier! Hope you're feeling cheerier, and everyone is a bit better.

He may indeed be compensating for not seeing me in the day. I think also that when he had a cold, I BF him a lot at night, as it seemed to me he was feeding as a way of soothing his sore throat. So he got into a bad habit of wanting to BF whenever he woke up. It's true that on Weds and at the weekend when he is with me all day more or less, he seems to feed a bit more than he was doing before, and I think there's a comfort element involved.

I may have to give him some formula if this goes on, as I am just shattered. I'm hoping to hold out until I start weaning, which will be in 2 wks, I think, though I could maybe start now: he can sit unaided for 5-10 minutes at a time and can hold things well; how do you know about the tongue reflex thingy?

AuldAlliance · 25/09/2009 09:00

Mrsg, I've been thinking about cycling with A, too. But I need to wait a bit before I can put him in the bike seat, I think!

I was also wondering about a trailer, so I could ferry both boys around. But we don't have a garage, I'd have to unload them on the pavement in front of the house, fold the trailer flat and then store it in the hallway. This seems somehow insanely impractical. Anyone who has experience of trailers have any tips?

AuldAlliance · 25/09/2009 09:01

When is it that Nutty reappears?

Feierabend · 25/09/2009 09:38

that's amazing that he's sitting so well, H can't sit up at all. Tongue reflex - I guess you have to just try to put a spoonful of something in his mouth and see if he can cope. No idea how else you'd be able to tell! I am sure two weeks won't make much of a difference.

AuldAlliance · 25/09/2009 12:52

Where is everyone?
Honestly, it's tea break time here, and I've no one to chat to. How selfish of you all to have RL to be getting on with.

mrsgboring · 25/09/2009 13:17

Another busy day here primary school visiting etc. so not much time to talk.

Auld afraid I don't fold my trailer as I'm lucky and have a garage. But one of the Teletubbies "real life" video slots is of a father and son doing exactly as you describe. Seems faffy but in theory possible.

AuldAlliance · 25/09/2009 13:36

Maybe I could get one of these? Seems extortionate a tad pricy, though, and my muscles hurt just thinking about it. 17kg & 7kg = 24kg on the back of my bike. That's nearly half my weight!

AuldAlliance · 25/09/2009 18:17

Echo?
Echo?
Tumbleweed....

Guimauve · 25/09/2009 18:22

I'm very busy eating cakes

Feierabend · 25/09/2009 18:23

I am here but have a baby lying on me and a nagging toddler... so can't really write!

[runs in, snogs Nutty, shouts "Bah, I have to go!", runs out]

Guimauve · 25/09/2009 19:44

Me = Juw
Bebemoo = Bleu
Feierabend = Schulte
Errrrrrrrmmmmm.....think that's it!

Guimauve · 25/09/2009 19:49

Lets see.....

Several people have returned to work (Boff, Auld, Frekkles, Puzz?, BB) - Boff has a wonder nanny, Auld has a nice CM.

Expressing BM is shit.

BB and Springy are mostly A.W.O.L, but popped back for some late-evening filth a week or two ago.

Errrrmmmm.....

Bit of weaning going on. Edmund had his op and all was fine.

Feier/ Schulte is living in a plague pit.

What else......

(no good at this. Y'need Puzz or Bebe for a good catch-up-round-up!)

Guimauve · 25/09/2009 19:54

Oh, and teething all round, I think!

Indeed! And how are Miss T and Miss P?

Feierabend · 25/09/2009 20:00

Nuttyyyyyyyyyy!!!! How are things with you love?

Not much has happened really

Let's see what I can remember.

Some babies are rolling / crawling / sitting / eating / sleeping and some are not.

Boff wears pjs to work.

Some French lady breastfed a puppy. Yes really. Auld has met her.

Puzzle's DD1 has big feet. And dogs shag in her garden.

Really this is all I can remember. Baby brain?
