oopsacoconut · 17/09/2009 17:38

I actually think bright yellow is quite nice in a loo, jollies it up a bit - they can be very cold and depressing places (my MIL's makes me shudder just thinking about it). You need a good warm lightbulb too. But then I am slowly repainting every room in my house in warm tones so I am biased (my downstairs loo is a warm oaty beige and covered in smallish random art and photos).

Kurt managed to combine 'heyo' with a wave at me today. Funny that he tries out his words on the changing table, good place for eye contact and observing your barmy mother I suppose.

TwilightSurfer · 17/09/2009 18:06

no more bold!!!! ha

buckets, the changing pad is a good place to practice words. in the future i'm sure he'll use the loo to ponder his greatest thoughts. lol

miamla · 17/09/2009 18:07

oops mine's still ok

buckets that's so sweet! i can only imagine having eye contact with DS on the changing table though! i'm more likely to get his wiggly bum in my face instead

ts agree with others, yellow is a great colour!

miamla · 17/09/2009 18:08

muah ha ha

yup, mine's still ok

oopsacoconut · 17/09/2009 18:09

phew, I am glad the bold has gone, it was really playing havoc with my eyes!

Yellow for a bathroom is great if it's a sunny warm yellow but some bright, pale yellows can be cold. Depends really if your bathroom is hot and needs cooling or cold and needs warming! See I am of no decorating use at all.

well then it's settled. yellow for the bath. the color i have in hand at the moment is called belgian waffle. it's light but goldeny (like the crust i suppose). it looks best against my light sage living/dining/hall which is where you are before and after the loo.

TwilightSurfer · 17/09/2009 18:28

no real baby troubles today i see.
good!

alittlebitshy · 17/09/2009 18:57

decorating. i wish we could decorate. well, we could but we're crap at it and and the rooms that need it most are rooms that need a massive overhaul that a) the parish won@t pay for, b) we can@t afford to at the mo. hey ho. the dcs have nice rooms and ours is ok if getting shabby, so i'll ignore the manky bathrooms (in decor and mildew not in the state i leave them btw ) and the not v me living room...

yellow does sound good for loos.

our hall, stairs, landing are primrose yellow. So are 3 walls of our room (the 4th is a deepish but at the same time brightish blue). we seriously think the previous vicar (possibly his wife too) was colour blind . Dh's study was hideous salmon pink, and our room was yukky pink wallpapsetr with a different pink carpet. the carpet was good condition but as much as i love pink it was the wrong kind of pink.

hotterpotter · 17/09/2009 19:11

I love yellow and have yellow lounge, dining room and kitchen walls, my bathroom is blue green and white though

alittlebitshy · 17/09/2009 19:18

. I put ds down, and when he started to stand up and howl for more milk I said a firm no. He giggled and when i picked him up i looked him in the eyes and said it again. he did his very upset cos i've been told off cry, had a cuddle, then lay down ok. have left his door ajar (remembered at nap time today that that sometimes calms him down) and will go and shut it in a bit. he is chattering to himself at the mo. maybe I'll have to go back up but he didn;t get his immediate 3rd boob which is a result!!!!!!

Sorry I am so self absorbed and me me atm .

LoveBuckets · 17/09/2009 19:46

Hey Albs, don't worry, sounds like you're getting there with H. How about having a painting party in the living room? Get some nosyparker parishioners in, bribed with cake and sandwiches.

miamla · 17/09/2009 20:02

evening all
knee really really painful but i'm saying no more about it

right, decorating... i love colour but seem to be gradually decorating all our rooms here (apart from DS's bedroom) white. its good though because with white walls its easy to add a bit of colour by using cushions. albs is going to laugh because she's seen my living room! the colour i'm planning on adding by way of cushion covers hasn't happened yet but i have bought the pads to go in them! Now all i need to do is decide what colour fabric to buy!

talking of fabric, has anyone heard how steaky is getting on?

miamla · 17/09/2009 20:03

abls well done on refusing 3rd boob.. small steps and all that

alittlebitshy · 17/09/2009 20:11

every now and again I have a ponder about what colour i would paint all our rooms if i could!!!

i must put a piccy of dd's room up on fb. It is soooo pink. The painter (a friend of ours) was very and when he saw the tins of paint. he thought the first one (3 walls) was pink enough but the window wall... welll. .

ds's room is lovely and calm ( i think and the most grown up room i've ever achieved. it is quite small, so not much scope. Cream walls and lovely huge ikea cupboards. got a few pics to ut up but still haven't.

oopsacoconut · 17/09/2009 20:12

Albs - you have 3 boobs

Our house has been painted white from front to back and top to bottom with colour(not always matching) added with curtains, rugs and cushions. The only rooms that have any colour on the walls is DD room which is white with a wall of turquoise and silver giant butterflies and the gym(mancave) which needs replastering and we plan to move a wall so it is still the original poo brown.

Our new kitchen arrives in 2 weeks and then the hell starts. They are lifting the floortile from the frontdoor to the back and then re plastering the walls where the 3 layers thick tiles are coming off and finally they are putting the new kitchen in and tiling my fab white tiles on the walls and my black slate effect tiles on the floor. but inbetween the tile ripping up and new working kitchen are 2 weeks of HELL.

TS hope the rain has stopped for school pick up.

alittlebitshy · 17/09/2009 20:15

oops OMG at the hell to come!!!!! Hope it is only 2 weeks!! Oh and dd's room sounds gorgeous!!!!

I was wondering who would be first to comment on my "third" boob!!!!!!

miamla · 17/09/2009 20:16

oops oooh i'd love a new kitchen! what cupboards etc are you having?

ts your prompt on my fb status didn't work! i've still got no idea where my mobile is but thanks for trying!

alittlebitshy · 17/09/2009 20:20

i'd love a new kitchen too. I love looking at other people's kitchens/bathrooms/ dammit - their houses in general!!! I bet you the next vicarage family here will get a sodding new kitchen and bathroroms and we'll have suffered the scabby ones here.

tch .

miamla · 17/09/2009 20:25

is H asleep yet?

oopsacoconut · 17/09/2009 20:27

OP posts:
miamla · 17/09/2009 20:29

oopsacoconut · 17/09/2009 20:29

aargh - the Inverness kitcvhen should have popped up but you will have to select it your self to see it. It was the most un child friendly colour I could find, high gloss white!

OP posts:
miamla · 17/09/2009 20:30
