AnnVan · 29/09/2009 09:45

Morning ladies.
Hmm, I feel human this morning Seb asleep at 7.30 woke just before 10, then again somewhere round 2am then slept till 7.15 then stayed happy in his cot while I had a lie in till 8.20 Do wish DP would stop insisting stupid things about seb not needing much sleep etc. He was giving dire predicions about a 5am start to the day last night. Either way I've had the best night in ages, so I don't care MIL had DS most of yesterday.
And now I have to go get him off the coffee table (for the millionth time aaargh)
ANyway - yes I was too tired to do anyhing yesterday. MIL returned him at 7.15 and as usual she hadn't given him a nap and he fell asleep with a bf. I do worry a bit what's going to happen when I go back to work. MIL will be childminding. But she NEVER puts him down for a nap when he's round there, so may have to have words before it happens.

Loved the tram talk it's not really possible to get lost on the trams, there are only two lines after all

sequinedsteaknife · 29/09/2009 10:30

Yawning all - is it lunchtime yet?
DD sleeping through but waking at 6 now. Not sure if this is better or worse than sleeping till 8 with a one hour wake-up in the middle of the night.

We tried for a nap this morning but she did a poo and even though she was tired wouldn't sleep just played baby pop up. So I've given up.

Ann glad you had a better night, I hope it lasts and that DP was able to admit he was wrong.

No1 at lack of tea bags. I can't function without tea and since being back in Blighty my intake seems to have trebled.

Wotcha cy DD likes clambering all over stuff at the moment, though often has to be rescued from under that dining chairs - not quite enough headroom.

Is anyone elses DC having a headbutting phase?

Miamla glad op went okay hope you make a speedy recovery.

CaptainCaveman · 29/09/2009 11:57

eye ointment for conjunctivitis, and more anti-mad tabs duly dispatched

currently waiting, and waiting, and waiting for Virgin media to answer the phone and tell me what my IP address is. ANyone know how to find it?

cyteen · 29/09/2009 12:08

FFS. Just had a conversation with someone at Monsoon where she asked me my name:

Me: Suzanna
Her: Izanna?
Me: No, Suzanna
Her: Ok Izanna...
Me: SUZANNA!

How many people do YOU know called Izanna, ffs? This is always happening to me. If I say Suzi, they hear Seezi - I realise my accent probably makes it sound like this but Seezi is also NOT A REAL NAME. Don't people stop to think about these things?

CaptainCaveman · 29/09/2009 12:15

Have given up trying to work from home. Feel too pants.

cyteen (or should I say Izanna? ) I feel your pain. Woman from Monsoon needs to be kicked in the fanjo

AnnVan · 29/09/2009 12:17

cyteen this happens to me A LOT. You've seen my name - people seem to think I don't know how to write my own name, as they ALWAYS change it So despite having filled my name in with clearly legible block capitals, any letters I then get have some weird distortion of my name on them.

miamla glad your op went well. Hope you are still feeling comfortable.

miamla · 29/09/2009 12:28

I'm being less discrete with bb use now in the hope that they'll throw me out

cc to find your ip address.. Assuming you're on a pc....
Click start(bottom left corner on your desktop), then select 'run'
Type CMD and then press the enter key
Now type IP CONFIG
And your ip address will appear by magic

Depends how your computer has been set up but its very likely your ip address will change every time you restart your computer

Shout if this doesn't make sense, hope it helps

miamla · 29/09/2009 12:30

Thanks all for your lovely messages

AnnVan · 29/09/2009 12:38

Oooh ladies, we need a new thread. (again)

AnnVan · 29/09/2009 12:45

I've been rereading Jane Eyre (for about the millionth time) and as always I'm totally perplexed as to why they refer to St John Rivers as a GOOD MAN!!! WHY??
He's controlling, emotionally abusive, merciless, heartless, not a good example of Christian values at all the list is endless.
'he is a good and a great man; but he forgets, pitilessly, the feelings and claims of little people, in persuing his own large views. It is better, therefore, for the insignificant to keep out of his way lest, in his progress, he should trample them down' How is this a good man?

Anyhoo, just had to get that off my chest

sequinedsteaknife · 29/09/2009 12:54

cyteen I regularly get Reese, Lisa and even Lucy.

Hmm not doing much reading here, but Dad has given me a large box of his most recent reads so maybe I should start on that.

Does anyone here sell their unwanted books on Amazon?

miamla · 29/09/2009 13:03

No! I've still got every book I've ever read! Apart from the ones I've 'lent' to friends and family and hence never seen again!

miamla · 29/09/2009 13:05

Oh and the only other nice inmate has gone home so afraid its down to you lot to entertain me now

Lol VG

Again baby napping then 20 mins later a poo. Bah she is still tired so I think a walk up to see grandma is on the cards.

Just got a surprising phonecall - I have a job interview on Tuesday. EEK and double EEK.

It is for the development manager at a theatre in Exeter. So not only do I have to gen up on all things arty I also have to become an expert on corporate fundraising in the next seven days.

Good grief Charlie Brown! To borrow a phrase.

I know but a little bit terrifying too.
I have to do a presentation about how I would do corporate fundraising, but with no IT aids.

flippin eck!

Not sure I actually, really want to go back FT. I do miss working and having a career and all, but then I will miss out on DD all day.
The theatre is on the university campus so I think there will be daycare on campus which would be muchly handy.

Blimey blimey blimey....

sequinedsteaknife · 29/09/2009 14:42

DD currently modelling a rather grubby tea-towel on her head. I love that girl [soppy emoticon]

StrictlySazz · 29/09/2009 14:54

Afternoon all

Got off to a lazy start this morning as i lay down on the sofa with my cuppa after DH had taken the girls off and fell asleep until 11am . I clearly needed it but i was then peed off about having wasted half of a child free day. So i have done some washing, been to Sainsbo's (where i bought the DD's some beautiful brushed cotton PJ's with little blue flowers) and primed my shoe cabinet (with paint rather than ready for an explosion). Think i might save the PJ's until Xmas (seems to be a MNetty thing to give new PJ's on Xmas eve), but then they only get to use them for 1/2 the winter . They are doing 25% off all clothes atm so i couldn;t resist at £7.50

I am going to paint the shoe cabinet in a bit and then see if i can get to the gym/pool for an hour and the day won't have been wasted

steaky fab news on the interview - i think you need to speak to Poppy if you can

I am liking Izanna too, please please cyteen start a thread and we can all come and add our two pennyworth. I will be MonsoonShopAssistant and come out with the fact that i think it is becoming very common these days as i was only speaking to a woman with that name earlier in the week

miamla you are very wise on all things computery. Hopefully cece hasn't smashed the computer out of the window in frustration yet . Do you know when you are allowed out?

cece poor you sound like the walking wounded. Glad you have some new anti mad pills as i think you a crazy kid already (in a nice way obviously)

Right, off to make a cuppa as i am still feeling exhausted
