New thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm trying to work out the best phone to get. I am very confused about if I want a blackberry, a nokia with free music downloads or one with a big screen and big keyboard or just a newer version of the one I have.

What confuses me is whether you have to pay extra for going on the t'interweb on your phone. I cannot find the answer on the orange site and strangely enough customer services is closed at 10pm at night.

I might just leave it another month and see how much I use my current phone and see what the best deal is then as this month hasn't been very typical.

Blimey you lot should all be alseep after that interesting post.

sequinedsteaknife · 28/09/2009 22:17

zactly HP also my mum told me that she had knitted swim suit when she was little and it always stretched in the water. Not so very 007 wading out of the water with your crotchet pants bagging round your knees.

StrictlySazz · 28/09/2009 22:19

If i had a choice (don't as mine is a work one} and i could get a good deal with text/calls/internet i would get an iphone. No idea how much they cost

sequinedsteaknife · 28/09/2009 22:19

I believe I may have a crotchet bikini pattern somewhere....

NEver liked macrame much it always seems to look hippyish but tacky at the same time. Though I am sure your plant holders were lovely HP

StrictlySazz · 28/09/2009 22:20

I made a macrame Owl once with beads for eyes. Sadly not so much use as a plant pot holder or swimsuit

hotterpotter · 28/09/2009 22:20

Sorry can't help you there, I have a mobile but only really use it to text DH and tell him which chores to do

He is currently trying to soothe DS who has been crying on and off for 15 minutes Perhaps veg curry followed by half a pound of blueberries has given him tummy ache His face was a picture after tea though, all orange and purple

hotterpotter · 28/09/2009 22:22

Was the owl macramed on to a real branch? If so I made that too!

StrictlySazz · 28/09/2009 22:23

I think it hung from a wooden pole

Would be dead in real life if it did that

sequinedsteaknife · 28/09/2009 22:25

Ah but an iphone is only on o2 though I was thinking about trying them so I could get one of the cash manager card thingumies. Just checked o2 and the cheapest tarrif is more than I paid last month on my pay as you go, so no savings there.
I think with orange I can get 200 minutes and 200 texts for 20 quid a month which covers my usage but costs less then keeping my pay as you go.
Though if I wait a month my usage will probably drop because I have the landline installed. Actually looking at the bill I hardly used the phone once the landline was put in.

hotterpotter · 28/09/2009 22:26

There are macrame bikinis

TwilightSurfer · 28/09/2009 22:27

I think I had a crotchet bikini in my past. White maybe? Don't think I ever wore it much because I figured out it looked like crap once wet. Does that "date" me? You don't find those things in this century do you???

I have a Blackberry Storm which I LOOOOOVVVVEEEEE. Steaky it was difficult to get use to at first because the keys were on screen but I'd have no other now.

Wish I was riding a train to see everyone tomorrow.

sequinedsteaknife · 28/09/2009 22:28

Right that's me for the night ladies. I am going to go to bed and I will probably have nightmares about beady eyed macrame owls.

StrictlySazz · 28/09/2009 22:35

Night steaky, turning in here too

Hi TS, bye TS. Hope DD1 likes her jewels

hotterpotter · 28/09/2009 22:41

Here's a patriotic one for you TS

Night West Country lasses

TwilightSurfer · 28/09/2009 22:50

LOL!

TwilightSurfer · 28/09/2009 22:55

DCs have eaten dinner and now it's time for bath....since they are wearing much of their dinner.

and to all a good night

hotterpotter · 28/09/2009 23:43

That's the right order though TS, food then bath - I gave my DC a bath this morning but by 6pm they were filthier than ever

Right, two dresses fixed so bed time for me. Night night

miamla · 29/09/2009 00:11

Evening all or is it morning now?! I'm having an illegal minute on my blackberry in hospital bed

Op seems to have gone well, not in any pian .... Yet! Lovely lady in bed next to me so we had quite a giggle when we were both back from theatre. Both of us were suffering from starvation with sore heads before!

I'm still on oxygen and hartman's drip so feeling pretty good! The ward sister is very sweet and makes lovely tea so I'm a happy bunny. Sobbed like a baby when being wheeled to theatre though. Not sure why this one upset me so much more than knee op. Hey ho, its all over now.

It doesn't feel like they've bent my knee too much while I was out so my "don't bend" messages I wrote all over it appear to have done the trick!

ts love dd1's jewellery box idea. Can you please come up with a boy version for ds please!

steaky your house sounds lovely. I'm very that you've got a whole room for your sewing!!

Hmmmmm, so there's a meetup in sheffield is there?...... [Grin]

I guess I'd better try and get some sleep

NezLiquide · 29/09/2009 03:17

Miamla hope you got some sleep and glad everything went ok here's wishing you a speedy recovery.

DS still got a poorly bum and will only eat yoghurt and pureed fruit atm - so much for his much improved eating prowess displayed in Oz. Went to the doctors yesterday but it was a different one from the usual and I was less than impressed.

Hope that the meet up goes well and that your all able to do another northern meet up in March/April next year - supreme advance warning I know.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 29/09/2009 07:40

Morning all.
Breakfast offerings of.......

Nothing. No bread or cereal.
I fancied a cup of tea and I have no tea bags.
Will have to have green tea this am.

DD at pre school this am, hope they do not have to peel her off me this morning.
Off to see horse then food shop, how rock n roll my life is.

Very tired after both dcs being up just before 6.30. WHY

miaml glad you are being supplied with hot cup of tea. Hope you are feeling ok. Understandable you had a cry (don't blame you) you are going through it at the moment, and combined with having to leave ds.

nez hi sorry to hear ds still not better. the doc was rubbish too.
I am sure we will all be up for the meet up.

steaky sorry you didn't get the bed, but free is good.

lol at all the macrame talk and crochet bikin last night.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 29/09/2009 07:42

God I bore myself sometimes.

Hope dizzy is ok I bet she is shattered after her action packed weekend.

Desperate for some holiday advance from you well travelled ladies too.

hotter when do you go away??

StrictlySazz · 29/09/2009 07:48

Morning No1 we have no bread, milk, fruit or much else here. But i do have teabags as these would NEVER be allowed to run out otherwise i would be more of a bear with a sore head

DD's were up 5-6 times between them last night and then up for the day at 6.15 . Dh has taken them off to the CM's though so i have a riveting day of washing and shopping. Might go to the gym for a bit of excitement

Where do you want to go on hols?

miamla so glad you are being looked after well and your op is behind you now . Do you know when you will be allowed home? I was Blackberrying from my bed and no-one seemed to notice

nez Obviously i'll be around next March/April. Should get a good deal on the trains booked 6 months in advance

hotterpotter · 29/09/2009 07:51

Morning

Both DC slept in till past 7 this morning so feeling quite chipper here although the extra perkiness of both of them is getting a little bit annoying already...

Miamla glad your op went ok, phew! You'll be home in no time

snot I hadn't forgotten you were coming! I think there is only you and Loti who haven't met anyone else from the group so we need to fix that asap

Morning No1, no tea sending you a virtual cuppa till you can get to the shops

4 more sleeps, forecast looking good but sooooo much to do

cyteen · 29/09/2009 09:07

No tea? [aghast] (((no1)))

Am pmsl at all the macrame chat last night It's quite amazing considering my right-on hippy lesbo upbringing that I don't even know what macrame is.

DS has developed a liking for having his back rubbed as he goes to sleep. Which is lovely and snuggly and all that, but not when he wakes up twice in the night and makes you go in and do it Plus it's impossible to tell when he's really gone off to sleep and when he's just going, and if you try and sneak out before he's properly zonked he goes mental.

I can't stay mad at him though, he's just spent 20 minutes climbing in and out of the vegetable rack Was probably woken up by the cats anyway, I shut them downstairs so we could get some decent shut-eye [hollow laugh] and boycat spent all night bashing his head against the door in protest.

Been out for a run again this morning, week 1 of couch to 5k almost complete!

cyteen · 29/09/2009 09:08

Whoops Miamla really great to hear you sounding so cheery and glad you've got good inmate company too, it makes all the difference.
