wotcha HP hurrah on your weight loss.

I just managed to unpack some things but I realise how much I must have got rid of when I left in 2005 - I think several bin bags and a couple of suitcases.

So my wardrobe is rather an odd mix. Though I had a bit of a result in the charity shop the other day getting a denim mini and a greyey-lilacly wrap top that looks unworn - all for the bargainous total of £7.

Layerd up over, you guessed it, a spaghetti top and tights and biker boots. Not sure I am high fashion but I am feeling more like me.

hotterpotter · 25/09/2009 22:05

Shit I have just noticed the spelling mistakes in my first post must be the wine

Your outfit sounds lovely steaky chaz shops are brill, even if they are not quite so bargainous as they once were. And now I am going down the sizes I find there is much more choice

Eek time for Peep Show! Laters/see you all in the morning

sequinedsteaknife · 25/09/2009 22:13

There are at least ten in strolling distance - actually rather dangerous as you do get some nice things in them.

miamla · 25/09/2009 22:49

argh, no chance to catchup, mil here and chatting to me if i stop typing! she thinks i'm emailing venues for our wedding

evening all

miamla · 25/09/2009 22:50

oh no, i'm guessing you've all gone to bed by now. looks like i'll be chatting to myself then unless TS shows her face

miamla · 25/09/2009 22:53

is nobody going to talk to me? mil and dp have both gone to bed so its a perfect time to mn now

miamla · 25/09/2009 22:59

wow sazz, i'm genuinely impressed at the sensible advice you offered Ann! hmm, that seems really patronising. you are of course a very sensible person but i'm still impressed!

lwfh · 26/09/2009 00:13

hello,

Have had a lovely time with my sister and partner, who have left today. Have a pile of work to do tonight. Boo. And yawn.

I start to put DS to bed at 7pm, and he is asleep by 7.30 most nights.

Definitely cultural. Argentine babies have a much longer afternoon siesta and go to bed later. I am thinking about doing this in the summer, as it does get really hot. But generally am not good at making directed changed with sleep, so we'll probably just see how things go.

He sometimes has two naps, sometimes 1. He is almost always awake by 6, occasionally at 5. he never sees DH at night, but we all spend time together in the morning.

In fact sleep is a bit rubbish. I still cuddle him to sleep, he still wakes in the night, and spends at least part of most nights in bed with us. Yawn.

We have 2.5 months to go before the new baby arrives. Walking and feeding himself well are more important to get sussed before than sleep and talking I think (and I think that these two will be OK), but it would be nice if we had some progress on the sleep as well.

WRT sleep - how much does your baby sleep in 24 hours? DS, about 12.5 hours.

Re: the new baby. I don't think that there are any double buggies that will fit our lift (1mx1m with a 7cm door. A friend is coming round with a phil and teds and we will try it out, but I am not sure. And those really tiny side by side doubles may just be a bit small for DS who is not really on the petite side.

lwfh · 26/09/2009 00:38

70cm door.

And hello everyone. RedLentil sorry to hear that you are so unwell. I hope that you get well soon.

TwilightSurfer · 26/09/2009 01:30

LWFH I'm trying to find a link to the double a friend of mine has. It might work. In the mean time I found this one that looks promising. If you have trouble with getting it to you, I'd be more than happy to assist.

Miamla we totally missed each other tonight, didn't we!!!!

TwilightSurfer · 26/09/2009 01:34

LOL! This is it! It's probably just like what your friend is bringing over.

sequinedsteaknife · 26/09/2009 07:58

trying to sort out skype, webcam, cook porridge and stop the baby falling off the chair/wrecking the shelves - somethings got to give!

LWFH blimey only ten weeks till LWRH2 arrives. DD sleeps between 12 and 14 hours of 24. She slept half six till sixish today but wouldn't be coaxed back to sleep - yawn.

CaptainCaveman · 26/09/2009 09:38

Morning. Had a night out last night with dh and friends. Got to bed at midnight. O was up at 5.45 . Say no more. I got up with him and slept lay on the lounge floor whilst he happily played around me for an hour .

steaky I like your taste in clothes. Fancy a career as a personal shopper?

hotpot am up for the meetup. Can do either date but the tues may be slightly easier. YAY!

sequinedsteaknife · 26/09/2009 09:47

CC glad I'm not the only one that employs sleeping lions tactics.

thought DD was down for a sleep but when I wentin after my shower because she ws fussing she had done a big poo - why do they do that, go to sleep, big poo, wide awake.

I would lurve to be a personal shopper/stylist. Shopping, playing dress up and you get paid for it. What's not to like?

sequinedsteaknife · 26/09/2009 09:52

wotchoo ladies all up to today then.

Not looking sunny here so I am thinking library in the morning and a walk along the estuary in the afternoon. Maybe stopping for a cream tea - yum.

lwfh · 26/09/2009 10:25

TS the uppababy stroller looks great - it would at least fit in as a single, so would only require one baby to be disturbed on our return home. Hmm.

I will discuss and report back.

Sazzles - re: cheap train fares

  1. have you thought about a family railcard, this might make it cheaper

  2. If you break your ticket into stages and then buy cheap day returns for each stage the overall ticket is cheaper than a straight through (you don't have to get off the train at each intermediate stop, so you can still get a direct train, but the train does have to stop at the intermediate stations). For example, Cheltenham to Sheffield for one adult, one child, with a family railcard, with a break in Birmingham is 45 pounds. It might be cheaper still if you break the birmingham sheffield leg.

StrictlySazz · 26/09/2009 10:30

Morning - just got back from my Fri lunch outing . Had a lovely time, partly interrupted by DH phoning to say that DD1 had had a strop poolside and wouldn't go to her lesson and he was 'very f*8%king angry' . Luckily he went over to the neighbours, they calmed him down and all went well . I went shopping in Harvey Nicks and then Primark a little bit tipsy . Managed to avoid spending money in HN and only bought DD1 some fleece PJ's and jeans in Primark

Hots i could only do 13th but please don't arrange around me as i am not 100% atm. Would you be meeting closish to the station?

LWFH 2.5 months - wow!!! How exciting . My Mountain Buggy which i think is pretty much the narrowest on the market is 73cm wide so i think front and back will be your best option. DD1 sleeps for about 13 hours in 24, DD2 about 13.5-14

dizzy Please tell us you had a piccy taken with your new swishy hair? Hope you enjoyed the night and are getting over the hangover

TS can i come over and shoot pool with you and roll home drunk? I am very qualified on both those activities

Ebay update - up to £80 on our 19 items. Any guesses what we will end up with to spend save for a rainy day?

StrictlySazz · 26/09/2009 10:41

Thanks for the tip re breaking train journeys - i always forget that one as it seems so bloody ridiculous

AnnVan · 26/09/2009 10:54

morning all.
three wakeups last night actually I wouldn't be half so tired if I a)hadn't drunk waaaaay too much and b) hadn't gone up to bed at 2am I would say Seb sleeps about 13 hours in 24. A lot of that is day sleep though, as he still has two naps each day, on of which is usually at least two hours. He really can't do without these naps either as he gets so cranky.
no1 and other northern ladies. So wish I could join you in sheffield. Sadly I cannot afford it. I have the time but no money, and when I'm working again I'll the money but no time. So I will have to remain quietly envious watching the meetup chat from the sidelines
red hope you are feeling a bit better today. If not

cyteen · 26/09/2009 11:15

Morning all

Having a nice relaxed morning so far, been out for a run and DS has napped. We were about to drive over to the posh part of town for some chichi grocery shopping, but DP has been called over to a client's house to sort something out I wish they'd leave him alone at weekends. Still, DS is sitting here in his stripey tshirt looking like the cutest little pirate in town, so I can't really complain

sequinedsteaknife · 26/09/2009 11:38

ooh sazz thanks for reminding me I will go and see how my the bed on ebay is doing.....hurrah still the only bidder which means if no-one else bids I will get it for 99p.

Thanks for the tip on searching locally sazz

right cupboard stocked up with the makings of fish pie and a roast chicken. Tis very frustrating not to have a freezer but at least we only have to step out of the door for town.
