sequinedsteaknife · 22/09/2009 21:22

dizz never mind neighbours I am watching the choir thing on BBC2 am most teary eyed.

wotcha sazz new socks, you know how to live! If DH needs more than arnica to make him smile I saw this and thought of him.

StrictlySazz · 22/09/2009 21:25

OOh that's fab steaky he would love one in his stocking . Only problem is that i don't have an ebay account so he would see me buy it. I might try and get my neighbours to secure it for me

I must ask though why you were searching Landrover Defender camping mugs?

sequinedsteaknife · 22/09/2009 21:31

I just discovered that I have some pennies in my paypal account so I can secure it for you if you like>

I actually saw it at the local Sunday table sale. There is a bloke there that has job lots, no questions asked love.

dizzydixies · 22/09/2009 21:35

Sazz - Neighbours is a guilty pleasure of mine and girls if I AM preggers then I don't know about it

glad Mr Sazz was brave and there is arnica a plenty being applied/taken all over the thread

Buckets - sounds like a cunning money spinning plan well done

No1 very jealous of the holiday plans, we'll probably end up with the family somewhere which certainly doesn't count as a fecking holiday in my eyes have you considered somewhere with some childcare so you can have some you time? I don't mean one of those god awful places where there are a million screaming children running riot but somewhere you can have a couple of hours off - worth its weight in gold in my eyes

LOTI god for it, all applications/interviews etc are good opportunities to give consideration to

thank you all for the advice re Fri. Am PMSL with the slap and high heels advice - am not great in anything higher than converse/flip flops and I am the laziest wench when it comes to make up - am quite sure if I could creak open my make up box I would be attacked by vampire moths and I'd have to choose one of the Ice Champink shades left over from the 80s have decided am going for the blue top I wore to the Christening and my red shoes (with heel although not killer) and shall pray that by the time we arrive they'll all be too pished to care!

had another barney with DD1 who is about to get grounded until she's two hundred years old - am not proud but temper was lost and threats were issues and chat that we had yesterday was had again maybe I'm being too hard as she is generally a very well behaved, polite, kind girl - am sure my tiredness is playing a part

for example, my friend turned up with her dc to collect DD1 for rainbows and within SECONDS they were in the house, running riot, into everything, up the stairs, out into the garden/shed etc etc - they were only meant to be here to collect DD1 and go again I'd be horrified if DD1 marched into someone's house without knocking and ran amok - am I too strict?!?!??

girls in bed, DH's birthday cake is baked and drizzled - shall ice/decorate it tomorrow, cards written and presents (for what they're worth bless him) wrapped

LoveBuckets · 22/09/2009 21:36

There you go Sazz, get them to pitch some offers to this lot. Think of it as community work, they don't get out much (in heels). BTW has your DH got the requisite tight pants? Mine is totally converted to them now!

Glass of red now and off to read my latest Regency bodiceripper (my secret shame.) Night all.

StrictlySazz · 22/09/2009 21:36

LOL at job lots . Thanks for the offer, but no worries about getting it for me, my neighbours will sort it i'm sure and you can keep your pennies for some frivolity vital purchase

hotterpotter · 22/09/2009 21:43

Dizzy I had Iced Champink lippy too After teenage years as a goth I must admit I feel like a kid trying to put proper grown up make-up on and rarely bother. Am getting too old tired for that to be OK though

Someone tell me to step away from the car websites please, I do not even have a date for my test yet ffs or any money

sequinedsteaknife · 22/09/2009 21:44

Sazz if you thought job lots was funny I'll save the tales of ex-boyfs Uncle Mickey for when I next see you.

sequinedsteaknife · 22/09/2009 21:45

seems like my keyboard has gone all east london on me.

StrictlySazz · 22/09/2009 21:51

dizzy sorry to hear DD1 is being challenging . I don't think you are being too strict and nipping behaviour you don't want repeated in the bud early on is the best way IMO. She may be intentionally or unintentionally testing boundaries or just being a bit out of control with excitement. Whichever way, knowing what the house rules are and that they are consistent will be best in the long run. Chin up chuck

I rarely wear make up either - a bit of eyeliner and some clear gloss is about as good as it gets here

steaky you'll be chomping on whelks and jellied eels in no time

dizzydixies · 22/09/2009 21:52

Hots I too hit the goth phase during the age 16- uni and the iced champink got wekk and truely binned lol

how did you get on with the wee man last night? Dylan remarkably slept through with bouts of coughing/snuffling keeping US awake all night - can hear the same started again

I too am dabbling on the car auction sites as have decied I HATE my fecking miserable shitey bus however have not a bean to spend on a new car so its pretty futile

sequinedsteaknife · 22/09/2009 21:55

jellied eels [boak]

hotterpotter · 22/09/2009 21:57

He was fine actually, thanks for asking and woke up full of beans at 6.15am. Luckily it was my turn to pull covers over my head and stayed in bed until 9am [bliss] Back to work tomorrow though so will be up in the dark at 6am.

Can that boy hear me type??? He is wailing now

hotterpotter · 22/09/2009 22:04

Phew, panic over, baby sleeping peacefully again

Steaky I am with you on the , in fact I am shuddering at the thought of eating eels, jellied or otherwise. Also cockles, whelks etc, jjjjhhhhhjjjjhhhh

StrictlySazz · 22/09/2009 22:10

Hope you get a good undisturbed rest until 6 hotter. We had only one wake up from each DD last night so fingers x'd for the same or better tonight

Time for me to turn in. Night

Oh, and wish me luck - MIL visiting tomorrow [deep joy]

hotterpotter · 22/09/2009 22:11

I'm off too. Night

Good luck with MIL Sazz

Happy Birthday MrDizzy

Love to everyone

dizzydixies · 22/09/2009 22:12

am off to bed too, Dylan has her jabs in the morning so I have to be at least not overtired and emotional for that!!! night all

dizzydixies · 22/09/2009 22:55

drat, got lured in by the baby name threads - NOW going!!!

poppysocks · 22/09/2009 22:56

Hello .... Missed the party again I see.

Happy Birthday Mrdizzy and good luck with the vaccinations. DD1 had her pre-school booster today as well as DD2 having her MMR. Was dreading it but DD1 was an absolute star and didn't even seem to notice it (but was more than happy to lap up the praise and choc buttons for being so brave ). So far, no reactions but the night is young...

Good luck with whatever you decide on the job front LOTI. I'm in a huge dilemma that I won't bore anyone with but not working is just not an option for me in no small part because DH would hate to feel that the burden for wage-earning rested solely on his shoulders. It was also an issue in BiL's problems so maybe you've got something there with DH's unhelpfulness on the home front.

Had to LOL at the arnica applications being recommended for your DH sazzles. Good on him for going through with it and great to hear you're so much in synch on the size of your family. Feeling pretty ok here about stopping at two at the moment. Long may it continue.

Also v. impressed by all those surviving without a garage and/or attic. We have both and both would be mahoosive pre-requisites in any future house. We are a fatal combination of me not being able to chuck anything out and DH needing o keep boxes and boxes of random wires . He claims to know what they're all for....

Am sooo totally with you dizzy and no1 about not knowing what to wear to go out in. I can do casual, I can do smart-casual for work and smart for work. I can do christenings/weddings. What I can't do is going out for a night on the town. Never have been able to (largely because I've never really been into that). Already worrying about what on earth I could wear for the Christmas meet-up.

Speaking of which... miamla, what's the story? Think I can almost definitely make it. Do we have to commit now?

Fab news to hear you'll be up this way soon sazzles. Around anytime after 9th Oct.

V. exciting to hear that you've got a scan date and great to hear that you're already receiving extra special care oops. DD1's godmother also has thyroid problems and is due her DC1 this week.

Your joie de vivre never fails to make me smile buckets.

Glad you and DD1 survived the carpool yesterday TS.

Hope the cough has improved red.

The mattress on the floor scenario sounds fab steaky.

Good luck with the bedroom decoration VG. Must admit that I couldn't follow any of the chat given that it was strongly suggested that I didn't even attempt GCSE textiles, such was my skill with a sewing machine.

Hello to everyone else

poppysocks · 22/09/2009 22:57

Surely I win a prize for the longest ever post... [blush

Apologies to all.

TwilightSurfer · 23/09/2009 00:23

hi!

got lost today in constant motion. i am exhausted!!!!!!!!!!!!

vg my old sewing machine use to have a similar problem. it is no longer in my possession.

steaky bed on the floor is perfecto for now. gives you a way to "move up" in the future.

i too have trouble dressing up to go out. when i was younger (and single) i use to buy an outfit almost everytime i went out. now i don't have the money for such luxury. if it's not yoga or runner attire then i am completely lost.

dh finally did his second post-snip-test today. the nurse left him this message: "you may now rely on your vasectomy as a form of birth control." i'm guessing that translates to "you ain't got no more swimmers." he is 7.5 months post snip.

on that topic, best wishes to mrsazzles. the "kicked in the nutz" feeling goes away in about 48 hours.

now off to put the girls to bed only slightly past bedtime. hopefully i'll see you all tomorrow.

night

oopsacoconut · 23/09/2009 07:02

Morning

DD and I has a disagreement at 2am about food - I won! It was very she kept standing up crying 'Up Mama' and signing please I just lay her down and patted her back it took 40 minutes and she went back to sleep then woke 20 mins later and it took 5mins to settle her. Then she was up for the day at 6. She will be exhausted later.

Sazzles -hope you DH is feeling okay this morning.

Happy Birthday MrDizzy

TS - STOP please you are exhausting me!

G'day all back from Oz we had a fab time. DS in love with the kangaroos. He did pick up a cold and got 2 new teeth at the beginning of the week but was in good form most of the time.

Oops many many congratulations. I'm a May baby and it's a great time to have a birthday.

No1 the family sitting next to us had a complete nightmare of a flight they had 2 DSs (18m and 3.5) the 18m old screamed for much of the flight and the 3.5yo had a complete meltdown on landing. DS was a complete angel but I really felt for them and so completely understand why you don't want to do longhaul - that was only 4.5 hours! Not really looking forward to coming back to England when DS is 20 months already.

Still catching up with the rest!

Happy Birthday littleloti and mr dizzy.
