Firstly AM sut up with your 'heels' talk. I am sure mine still wouldn't fit
CM i have had to do all that gumf before. Signing my life away on forms and having midwives come tentatively to the house for check ups. The last consultant i had gave me all manor of doomand gloom stories and lectured me on how irresposible i was, putting myself and my unborn child in danger blah, blah, blah...He was spouting statistics for scar rupture that i knew where bollox and he did too as he couldnot maintain eye contact.
Thw twins were a section, dd planned HB but transfered in as she was stuck. Ds#3 home, ds#4 home, B induction in hosp and dd2 home.
The Hb they kicked up so much about was ds4, the midwife who came in the end had no time to read any notes and knew nothing of my history. (he came in 40 minutes and she was only there for 25 of those)She visibly paled when she read them afterwards
I am sure you know your own body and would transfer the minute they asked you too. A more relaxed birth at home is just what you need after the twins birth. When i had dd after the twins i was desperate to stay at home because i wanted her all to myself. The twins hardly felt like mine until they came home. I didn't let her go even after the transfer. Do you feel like that?
In fact i don't think i put her down for weeks.
It is only recently i have considered the fact that she has Turners Sydrome and could potentially have been born at home. But obviously they did not pick up on that in the paed check after her birth anyhoo.
Ask me anything. I am used to being harrased about it by consultants and some snotty midwives. It is hard to stand your ground and you need dh on side. At one point the consultant was talking over me to dh pretending i wasn't even there trying to get him to agree to a hosp birth! Lovely man.
Sky dd1 (always her!) had a rushed A&E visit one night when she was about 2. She was screaming in pain and i thought it was her appendix. Turns out it was those glands in her tummy enlarged and causing her pain. She was on oxygen and looked v poorly for about 12 hours when she suddenly perked up. They discharged us the following evening and when we walked in the door (exp) had bought KFC and the twins were eating, she sat up at the table and polished off a load!!
I was cross as i had been so worried the night before! I seem to remember i was about 7 months pregnant with ds3 at the time too.
Soooo nasty things those glands! Hope she feels better soon.
Aplos for mammoth post!
