HIya guys - long time no post i know. Its been hellish trying to log on - the NHS has blicked MN from all our computers and DH working all hours so i barely get mear the pc - am thinking of getting an iphone as its really annoying me...

Joe is one in 48 hours!!!! Party on saturday for 4 1-year olds and 4 3-year olds. Will be about 20 people in all - have not done a thing yet so its going to be hectic.

DS1 has suddenly grown up so much - he is far less tantrumy and whingy and is now so grown up . He's grown an inch in 2 months and is about a foot taller this year already. he's towering over his peers (and Joe). Have been having some problems with his over-enthusiastic squeezing of Joe but now Joe is beginning to fight back.

Have been trying to up load some new pics of Joe but can't manage it - Joe now managed to grow red, spiky hair - its a bit like a baby alsatian's hair!!

Haven't read all the posts - hope the results are good for you MM (?50ft)

love on ya all
xx

Hello loulou! for it only being 2 days until Joe's birthday. What have you got him? I really should work out what to get for ds I suppose.

Ds had his first ride on dd's old trike thing today, as we got him a safety strap (dd was older when she got it so never had one). We wandered down the road and over the footpath opposite to pick blackberries with him on it, and he seemed to rather like it! It's one of these, which I'd def recommend if anyone is looking for something like this.

Hellooo! Missed so much, work gets in the way of everything fun!

50ft- glad scan is over and fingers crossed for the results. at M half inching a flake!

CSWS- Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight.

Star- Great news about confident Q walking all over the place.

Loulou- Happy B'day to J!

Have forgotten all else I read but hi to all.

Work ok, am completely out of my comfort zone in Nursery and feeling very overwhelmed. Dh says J is doing well with settling in at his Nursery- did an hour yesterday with dh and 10mins alone, then 2 hours today with 30mins alone. Am taking him tomo as it's my day off for the whole morning, not sure how long they are expecting him to be alone. Hoping an hour so we feel like we are making steady progress. Feeling nervous about it. Really missing seeing J, last thurs and fri was good but now reality is kicking in. Have been v.tearful last night and tonight but thankfully am so busy at work don't have time to mope. Am such a wuss, have cried when I've seen J both nights. Oh well this is life now so am sure things will get better/easier

50ftQueenie · 08/09/2009 21:07

LOULOU!!!!! Hello!!!! We were wondering where you had been! I was going to wish Joe a big happy birthday on the 10th even if you hadn't been back. He is the first one so it is a momentous occasion. Yes I am 50ft now but you can call me MM if you prefer. I am reassured by how relaxed the specialist was about everything, but we'll see. I have lots of questions to ask him so I am going to make another appointment to see him again. Let us know when you have managed to up-load the picture of Joe's fabulous hair!! Oh and have fun on Saturday if we don't see you before. Happy Birthday Joe! Wooooooohhhhhh!

M's butterfly rocker is here. It is sooooo cute and DH is so excited about it he wants to give it to her tomorrow. He was trying to justify it by saying that she would get more use out of it if she had it now. Such a big baby!

50ftQueenie · 08/09/2009 21:15

I think I might need to see a doctor about my premature posting problem.

CSWS - I was thinking I might need to get M one of those type of things. DS had a push-along motorbike thing when he was 18 months and we kept it. I sat M on it today and pushed her along and she loved it. That trike would be easier on the back.

Hi Rachie - Yes, things will get better. DS went off to nursery full time 2 days after his first birthday. It was horrible at first (for me, not for ds who settled in straight away) but we all got used to it very soon. And being out of your comfort zone is a good thing. It means you're challenging yourself and you'll feel much better for pushing yourself in the long run. Give it a few weeks and you'll feel much better, in a few months you'll wonder what all the fuss was about.

She did indeed Myjob! She made lots of 'mmmmmm mmmmm mmmmm' noises bless her.

aubergenie · 08/09/2009 21:31

Rachie - Remember as well that the beginning of term is always manic and there's just so much to do. I'm feeling totally swamped already. Plus you're working in a whole new keystage AND dealing with leaving your baby. No wonder you're feeling a bit overwhelmed. That's a lot of stuff all at once. It will get more manageable, I'm sure.

I've just spent the evening photographing our class teddy bear (Kev, named by the children.) doing various things around our flat - watching In the Night Garden with S, working on my laptop, in the bath with S, listening to stories with S..... The children are desperate to take him home with them so they can write a diary entry about what they did, so I've had to start it off.

Happy Birthday Joe, in case I don't get to log on again!

loulou33 · 08/09/2009 21:33

Hellooooooo >

Have uploaded some piccies - enjoy....
DH is hovering again - he was on Radio 6 music today on the George Lamb show, bless him so he's been getting loads of messages from mates on fb...better gop and let him get his few mins of fame

50ftQueenie · 08/09/2009 21:46

Ha ha ha Aubergenie - I totally misread your post and thought you were saying that the children wanted to take S hoe with them and then right about what they did. I was very confused.....but only for a millisecond.

Loulou your boys are gorgeous. I like the wheelbarrow one. DS1 does look very grown up compared to the pictures from when Joe was tiny. Why was DH on the radio? I don't listen to George Lamb so have no idea what his show is about....

50ftQueenie · 08/09/2009 21:48

hoe? right? I think I need to go back to primary school. Obviously I meant home and write! Oh dear me!

Great to see you back Loulou. Happy birthday to J. Wow what fab hair.
The first of our little treasures to hit the big 1st b'day.

Myjob, Argos got a battering. There are no more pink, doggy, dressing up junk left in the shop. With a big Cinderella card I should be ok for the morning. DD2 is princess.

It does mean that there are only a few week until W b'day. AAAAARRRRGGGG.

50ftQueenie · 09/09/2009 08:14

Right you lot. AIBU? DS was really lazy and pathetic with his reading homework last night and this morning. It is very frustrating as I know he can read really well but he sometimes makes zero effort. We have to comment on how well he does with his reading so the teacher can check his progress. I was completely honest and said that he didn't finish the book and really struggled with a few words but that I felt that this was due to a serious lack of effort rather than inability. I also said that I hoped he would work harder tomorrow. I feel a bit mean, but it's the truth. I would want the teachers to be honest with me so I feel it is my responsibility to be honest with them...... Any views?

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/09/2009 08:22

I think that you did the right thing MM.

Hope things settle soon for you rachie.

Happy birthday to H ronshar.

Just seen this thread, and ds was born last year on 13 oct, and he started walking last week, and now can walk across the room. It's fun watching him.

Agree about the daytime naps, ds will now only sleep in the pushchair during the day, and only when it's moving.

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/09/2009 14:55

Ds is pretty much dropping to one nap a day myjob, and that is in the car (we leave him asleep on the drive). Or he'll nap in the pushchair but not for long.
