Evening all.

Oi Ronshar. It will be the best shopping experience ever as I am a walking shopping guide to Bluewater.

Star - Q is 1 a week before M. It is coming up fast isn't it? I have a tea party to prepare for too! It means tidying up the dining room which is the general junk room at the moment. M has far more work than I though as she has to learn to walk or face a bad yearly report!

Myjob - Still no news about the scan. I am getting pretty pissed off with all this waiting. But having said that, if there was something urgent you would hope they would have told me by now!

DS got a gold merit badge at school today. In order to get a gold badge you have to already have three ordinary merit badges. He is SO pleased with himself bless him. Only one other boy in the class has one so far.

Hey Ksal, well done Emma! Is that our first walking girl?

Wait till you're 35 Star...[old hag emoticon]

We've visited 3 nurseries today and really liked the first one, wonderful garden area, staff all over 25 bar one, all NVQ level 3 and above, making bread with the kids, they have their own new minibus for trips; and above all, the kids and the staff seemed really happy and interested We've got an appt for another one on Thurs which is a bit closer but I think we've found our winner.

We've also got our fancy dress outfits sorted, finally persuaded DH to do the fancy dress. I'm not sure whether to tell you what we're all going to be or let you see the photos after the party...

I'm off to bed anyway as I'm exhausted, Pops up for a while in the night. She seemed really awake, I think she has 2 more teeth coming through at once. Her teeth seem to be coming through really unevenly tho and she has a big gap at the front [I didn't make the perfect baby emoticon]

Thanks MyJob, but it is a heck of a gap! She'll be a good whistler, that's for sure!

Hey 50ft, those posts were pretty damn close! Can you set those NCT people on your consultant?? I'm going with my dad for his consultation on Thurs, then they'll book in the colonoscopy[?].

Oh yes, well done Emma! I was obviously just jealous, but I would like to point out that M has taken 2/3 independent steps on a number of occasions. Does that not count as walking? Hmmmm....?

Hmm - That sounds like a fabulous nursery! I used to love the nursery two doors down from us but now the staff barely look old enough to be out of nursery themselves! It puts me off somewhat. Plus the staff turn over is so high. Dh has just pointed out that I haven't spent anytime in there for ages so it might not be as bad......

Tell us hmm!
Yay for finding a nursery that you like.

Well done Emma.

Have a fab day shopping ronshar and mm. I'd be tempted to join you if I wasn't already busy. Am going to see one of my longest standing friends (22 yrs) and meeting her baby for the first time (born 17th Aug) . Have told her not to worry about being dressed when we arrive, as I'll mind baby whilst she showers, and am also taking lunch for us. Let's hope that ds doesn't get jealous or trash the place! Fingers crossed for a nice day so that he can roam the garden!

myjob - where are you going on holiday?

Hmm - I missed the bt about the gap in P's teeth. DS had a big gap and it soon went when the rest of his teeth came in. And besides, they're not permanent teeth so it's not a major problem. She is beautiful and perfect. Plus M isn't perfect, she has silly skin that is allergic to stuff so she has to have covered legs at all times.

Oh sorry 50ft, of course, I had it in my head that M was only standing, but I remember now.

OK then, I got a tutu from claire's for Poppy so she'll be a ballerina [so cute if predictable emoticon]. It's short enough that she can crawl in it. I'm gonna be a clown [having tried a banana costume and a cow - the udders were rather obscene] and DH is a 70's dude [not a great stretch for DH] He wants to go as a 70's drug pimp as he has a big furry jacket but I won't let him, since it's a 1st birthday and all...

Right, i'm REALLY off to bed. I'm off to try a new toddler group in the morning then shopping with my mum in the afternoon.

Well done Emma! S is taking quite a few steps now - when the fancy takes him. Sometimes he doesn't walk for ages. It's so funny to watch isn't it. And perfect timing too as we've got dp's parents coming down for S's birthday this weekend and they'll be really excited.

50ft - I'm sure they would have contacted you if there was anything to worry about with your results. When I had my biopsy, the hospital called me within a week and left a message to ask me to come in and discuss my results, a dead giveaway that it's not good news.

CSWS - What a lovely friend you are! I realised after I had Stan what a difference there was between the friends who had children and those who didn't, as all the ones who had brought food over. Then I felt really guitly for all the times I hadn't.

I'm knackered and don't want to go to work. Wish I could bunk off and come shopping with you, 50ft and Ronshar. Have fun!

oooh shopping- i wish i could come too!

I remembered that M was first, i just wasn't here to defend her performance record! The thing i love about Emma taking steps is just how pleased she looks with herself.

She had two boosters and the MMR yesterday afternoon.... i hate her having injections, its just so heartbreaking when they just have no idea why they are being hurt like that... Emma was following the nurse with an accusatory stare afterwards. When i pointed it out (jokingly) the nurse said that was why she doesn't look back at the babies... must be hard doing that all day!

doesn't help that she's teething again seems to be pretty bad this time

Hello- gappy teeth here too Myjob- J is also handing us things when we say ta and is giving a kind of kiss, he basically opens his mouth wide and kind of sucks part of your body. I'm assuming it is his kiss as he does it when I get home from work for ages. He can also go and get his toy monkey when I ask him and whenever the phone or door goes he def says 'Dad, Dad'...sadly it more than often isn't Dad Pistachio we also have a lot of dancing here which is very funny to watch.

Ronshar and MM hope you have had fun. I got paid today for the first time in aaaaaages and really need to have a BW trip at the weekend.

Thanks for the reassurance about J's b'day presents, the xylophone arrived today and is suitably plinky plonky.

CSWS hope you had a lovely day with your friend and yay to finding a nice Nursery HMM, to injections KSal.

Interesting day at work yesterday. I was verbally and physically abused by a 3yr old. Scratched and called a "fat idiot" amongst other things. Oh the joy of small children. Was quite offended by the fat part, suppose I should have said 'it's baby weight actually'. Felt quite shocked at the time but managed to be calm and use my restraining bear hug. Can't wait to be in tomo Thankfully we have an excellent supportive team who I can laugh about these things with, sometimes you have to laugh.

Eek at injections - can't believe that we are starting another round of them already.

You've made ds sound behind on his social skills now . He still doesn't clap, but does wave (but of course not when people are actually driving off). He does lovely hugs and sometimes kisses. He throws a ball to you (or away from you if he's being cheeky ). But I bet that he can climb the best! He gets onto the rockaboat swing by himself and sits there kicking his legs waiting to be pushed. And he races up flights of stairs quicker than you can say 'have you shut the stairgate?'.

Nice day today. Friend had managed to shower before I arrived (she's trying to get into practice!), but I held the baby and settled her to sleep whilst friend finished her lunch. She is a pretty good sleeper at night, but really fights it in the daytime. You really forget so quickly how tiny they are when young, although this one at 6 weeks was lighter than either of mine at birth . Ds also did a nice demo of all the things that friend will need to move once her dd is mobile .

Myjob - hope you have a great time in Cornwall!

50ft & Ronshar, how was your shopping trip? Are the shops in Bluewater running short of stock

Rachie, that sounds awful, I hope that if dd does the same to me I'll be able to stay as calm as you did...

Ds loves music and 'dancing' which involves him waving one arm to and fro and shaking his head madly around, I keep trying to get it on video, but no luck yet! He has some basic 'words', the most clear one being 'NO' said in exactly the tone dd uses when she's cross with him . We have no worries about gaps between teeth yet as he STILL doesn't have any, though his mouth is really bothering him

We're off to Dorset this weekend and taking the kids to Monkey World there, so hopefully the weather will be ok. I've got to get a reasonably early night as I have to pack tomorrow.

Thanks Myjob! Forgot to post as well that J can't freestand yet either. He is getting brave and starting to use one hand and has a few times let go and then realised what he has done but we are talking a very wobbly split second! They'll all get there in the end and to be honest J is fast enough crawling so I'm in no hurry for walking
