Yay for everyone liking their rainbowbabies stuff . Did you order with the email address that I recommended you under pistachio, as my account still shows that you haven't ordered (might just be them being a bit slow)?

lol at Jenwa thinking that we don't want to talk now that we've met each other! Have a great holiday. Hope it all fits in the car. Glad to hear that your mri was clear too.

Good luck for scan on Monday MM. Your hospital certainly isn't excelling itself at being bf friendly is it?!

Yay for ds walking pistachio. I'm not at all surprised - he looked so close to it on your video the other day.

Busy day in MK today. Went to look at Dwell and Habitat stores for dining chairs to go with the table that we were planning to buy elsewhere. Now we've changed our mind again about which table to get, but aren't actually sure what we are getting now! We took the dc for pizza afterwards (ds and I without cheese!), and dd was a complete and utter PITA, a theme which lasted pretty much the whole day! If she would just freaking sleep then she wouldn't be so tired and grumpy all the time, but this just isn't sinking in no matter how many times we tell her. Last night she came down at 3:30am, and never made it back up to her own room.

I was hoping that we weren't talking because it has been the last couple of weeks of the Summer. For me I've been doing actual parenting because DS has been being demanding! I was thinking only this morning that it will start to slow down now as lots of you are going back to work now.

Well, you'd think that lots of sleep would make them happy, but both my kids had a reasonable night last night and were really grumpy today . Ds has turned into the ultimate velcro baby - he wails and throws himself down face down on the floor in distress if I take more than a couple of steps away from where I've put him down. Real tears too.... And he scratches his face and his head so his hair goes all sticky up and his face is really blotchy - bless him. I think it must finally be teeth, so I'm hoping they come through soon as I don't think my nerves can stand much more.

Jenwa, good news about the MRI, enjoy your trip.

Bugger, my laptop battery is dying and I can't get the power to work, will catch up tomorrow.....

KSal · 04/09/2009 08:19

fingers crossed for you for monday MM.

aubergenie glad you liked the recipe! I made your butternut squash and raisin muffins and cheese and veg scones on wednesday night and emma snacked on a muffin when she got home from nursery yesterday - a huge success!!

little cuddles to all the poor teething babies (assume cuddles for babies are allowed on MN...) emma has 7 teeth now.... i am absolutely dreading the molars coming through. A good friend of mine went through it recently with her daughter getting 3 molars at once and one side of her face swelled up, poor mite. At least it gets it over with i suppose!!

one of my NCT friends took her daughter for settling in at emma's nursery yesterday... her DD and Emma will have the same Key Worker (sounds like a social services thing!). Apparently my friend was cuddling Emma while the nursery nurse was cuddling her DD... i think Emma is going to have to learn to share her keyworker .

KSal · 04/09/2009 08:23

oh and MM i get a lot more MNing done at work . I may be in the minority there though

I canNOT believe we'll be having 1st birthdays, soon! incredible!!!!

KSal · 04/09/2009 15:18

very quiet today!

12 days til emma's birthday... bonkers!

I am off to ELC at the weekend to get a present (either the push along trolley with building blocks or the trike with trailer, wil decide when i see them!!). Quite excited about buying her toys as i try not to do it to often and as a result she doesn't have that many (mean mummy)

my mum has bought her a bike seat (a weeride - its one that goes just behind the handlebars) so i will need to get a helmet for her... and perhaps some waterproofs given the recent weather!!

KSal · 04/09/2009 15:23

oh and myjob, i bumped into another of my NCT friends the other day and her little girl is the same size as N.... i couldn't believe how cute she was - so adorable!

I have no idea what emma weighs at the moment. I think we'll have a ceremonial weigh in on her birthday and measure her height for the wall!!

KSal · 04/09/2009 15:27

oh and finally.... anyone seen this?

finally my thunderthighs are good for something!

A good excuse to eat more, then
we're off to a bbq in london this afternoon. Q is SO used to bedtime between 6.30-7pm... I hope we make it back at least to the train by 6pm. Might go to science museum first as he can play with more stuff there now that he can walk around

aubergenie · 05/09/2009 08:17

Thanks for the thigh news - I'll definitely make that chocolate and pistachio cake today then!

Rachie - Glad the return to work was OK. When is J going to nursery?

Dp and I had our first night out together last night. It was his 40th over the summer and I'd bought theatre tickets for us. My sister and teenage niece babysat. Dp was really worried that S would be upset without us at bedtime, but it sounds like he had a lovely time and went to bed with no tears at all.

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/09/2009 08:28

Great news aubergenie. I didn't answer you the other day about our broad beans. We ate the first of them last night. There weren't very many, and there don't seem to be many left growing either. Am v disappointed. They were nice though.

OP posts:
aubergenie · 05/09/2009 08:40

Mine were also dissapointing this year CSWS. Also with broad beans, once you've podded them, there's nothing left is there so you would need to plant loads to get a reasonable crop. Because I've dug up my veg patch, I'm left with a huge amount of potatoes at the moment, so if anyone's got any good recipes, please pass them on!

Also, can I give ds peanut butter? I've avoided it up to now because I thought it was too salty but looking at it, it's no worse than philadelphia.

Yes, that reminds me Star, we must take S to the science museum soon. It looked really good when you all went there recently. Have fun!

Hope that dd had a good day pistachio.

I've been trying to post the rest of this message from my phone since 10:45 this morning, but for some reason it won't work, so now I've to type it all out again...

Yes to peanut butter unless you've reason to suspect allergy. There was a discussion re saltiness and brands whilst you were away iirc.

Make mash or your own oven chips to use up the potatoes and freeze.

Maybe you are tired because you are pregnant again myjob .

Talking of which, have you tested yet Aubergenie?

Honestly, I miss 2 days and CSWS is marching both myjob and aubergenie to the chemists for PG tests!!
Def no need for those here .
Today we took 13 bin bags of clothes to the charity shop, yes, 13. I have been given so much stuff over the years for the DSs and also DD - as I have the youngest girl in every circle of friends that I was overwhelmed. I sorted it all out and, rather embarrassingly, I don't actually need to buy DD anything at all till she's 2...... and the boys have everything already for this winter - even coats...
The 13 bin bags were in addition to the 2 crates I gave next door for their grandson and 2 bags to MIL for her next door neighbours new DD!
DH reckons we may actually have to insulate the roof as all the clothes in the attic were keeping us warm!
Anyway, have caught up just about -
jenwa - enjoy your hols
ekka - poor M, hope teeth arrive soon...
CSWS - what a miserable early start (from facebook) and you were VERY cheeky to 50ft!!!
made me laugh out loud.
MM - hope the scan thing is OK, don't have results of my MRI yet..
Waves to everyone I've missed...star, Ksal, pistachio, Rachie - and everyone else who knows me!

Knickers0nMaHead · 05/09/2009 20:33

I have got t start posting on here more

If you see me around, give me a kick up the arse please.

Ds been walking for about 3 weeks now. He has just about cut his fourth tooth. Not had him weighed in ages but at his 7mo check he was 19lb 11.
