not far from us then ! Newbury is nice

MrsDoolittle · 13/06/2005 20:13

Thanks Lunavix!

lunavix · 13/06/2005 20:15

Whereabouts are you dolbear? Wasn't it birmingham or am I totally muddled?

I miss living near the coast (from Bournemouth, and there's no coast near Berkshire!) but having said that we're thinking of moving up near Yorkiegirl in the next 10 months or so.

hunkermunker · 13/06/2005 21:36

Lunavix - glad you had a wonderful wedding day (love the DH in your post ).

TracyK - that link's gorgeous - think we may have to have a canvas pic of DS...

TracyK · 13/06/2005 21:41

well it turned out that dh was planning the same pressie for me for our anniversary this weekend - so we've collaborated (instead of it being a surprise for him) - so I've narrowed it down to 4 photos to go on canvasses and another 9 to be edited and cropped etc and printed onto square photograhic paper and then we will frame them in a large square montage.
But the guy is v. clever - he's edited the photos so they look like professional ones.

hunkermunker · 13/06/2005 21:42

Sounds gorgeous - and more reasonable (and dare I say it, more creative) than the ever-present Venture photos.

TracyK · 13/06/2005 21:45

well the montage is going to be a copy of ours friends that cost £900 from Venture type place - but it is gorgeous. I hope to get it for £100. If I could do links I could show what they have - its very pretty.

TracyK · 13/06/2005 21:45

and the best bit he can edit out my double chin!!

hunkermunker · 13/06/2005 21:49

He sounds amazing

I cannot believe the prices Venture charge - and that people pay them! Mind you, only cos I'm that they have that much disposable income

TracyK · 13/06/2005 22:05

well my friends did it for their first dd - but poor d2 - got bugger all!

Chuffed · 14/06/2005 09:41

I paid £200 for some gorgeous photos of me when I was pregnant as a keepsake

Chuffed · 14/06/2005 09:42

Chuffed · 14/06/2005 09:43

oops

TracyK · 14/06/2005 10:08

well the £900 pounds wasn't just one photo - it was 9 of them all framed up to about 1 metre square - so it is fairly large and very well done so that it is a work of art in its own right. Completely white background and the little girl wearing a bright pink dress.
Are you in the gallery then chuffed?

LucyJones · 14/06/2005 10:10

Will you get another one done second time round Chuffed? Is the first one in your lounge?!!! I can't think of anything worse than a photo of me preggers!!!!

TracyK · 14/06/2005 10:24

I remember viewing a house once that had a nude painting of the owner above the fireplace! yuk!

Chuffed · 14/06/2005 10:29

I got quite a few photos done. There is a beaut one of me and dh, he has his shirt off and it is taken of upper bodies and we are holding the bump together. I haven't had them framed or anything, what I'm going to do is mount them in some card at some point and have them bound.
Agree don't want a naked photo on my wall but you are only pregnant for the first time once.
Won't have any done this time, it was just something that I wanted to capture.

dolbear · 14/06/2005 11:50

i like the ones they take @ nusary !
cos I am cheapskate !
i have NO piccs of me pg - ( excpt xmas in the pub when dm got all weepy due to 1 2 many vodkas and took 100 piccs of my last xmas or somthing like that !!
I would like piccs when we have had the 2nd though , my mate is a photographer and I asked him to do a load of ds for dh'd b-day they were realy good ! but then all bb's are cute in piccys

MrsDoolittle · 14/06/2005 13:39

There is a trick to all this of course!!!

Marry a photographer!!!

Fennel · 14/06/2005 21:18

mrs d, is your dh a photographer? that would be convenient.

am about to go to Norway for 4.5 days with work. am stressed about leaving dd3 for so long. I left the others at this sort of age but it does feel too long .

dot1 · 14/06/2005 22:09

good luck Fennel - hope the days fly by and I'm sure your dd's will be OK..! And I'm so glad your big day went well Lunavix!

Meanwhile ds2 has decided that he HAS to feed himself every meal! It came out of nowhere a couple of days ago and is driving me insane!! The mess is unbelievable - I'm sure ds1 wasn't this messy. I'm discovering I'm a lot more anal than I thought - I can't stand watching him flinging food around the place (whilst trying to get it into his mouth!). He goes bonkers if you try to take over and eventually ends up scooping the food into his mouth with his fingers!

Aarrggghhh!! dp tells me I need to chill out and resist the urge to sponge him down every 5 minutes - please tell me this phase doesn't last very long and he'll have beautiful table manners very soon!

rubyroo · 14/06/2005 22:19

sorry for belated reply chuffed had work stress last night no time to log on. my dd was born 17th march st patricks day but i was due on the 25th she was impatient even then!!! have tried the whole ignoring thing with the tantrums but find it difficult in the car/buggy etc and have been resorting to dummy instead of just for nap time. i know i need to stand firm but not sure what other carers do she has a mixture of me grandparents (2 sets!!) and childminder. with her food she is increasingly rejecting lovingly prepared stews etc and will only eat yoghurt need to do something before i end up on one of those bbc programmes about how not to bring up your kids

Chuffed · 15/06/2005 09:10

good luck fennel!
dot have you tried the two spoon thing, while he is fluffing around with one get the other in his mouth.
rubyroo dd is eating everything we have now and every now and then rejects it but I am assuming she just isn't in the mood for it. ie. she didn't want pizza on Sunday but ate some yoghurt and fruit so that was ok.
I think her being at nursery has really helped her eating as she copies and wants to keep up with those that can use cutlery pretty well.
