No you're not mad Dog all perfectly normal worries imho.
They really do take care of them though and they are walked through everything including eating lunch and going to the toilet regularly in the first couple of weeks. They are usually too busy having fun to get upset, but if they do, reception teachers are lovely and very used to giving hugs. Ds2's teacher said she was so pleased to get a lovely cuddle when he got upset about something just before school at the end of last term, it meant she got a cuddle when usually they are so well settled by that stage of the year that no-one 'needs' her so much any more iyswim.
With my boys I just reinforced to them that the teachers were there to help them and if they had any worries or problems to go and tell them. Its important to tell them that 'all' the teachers are there to help though as ds2 thought he had to try and find his own teacher every time, even at break.
Get what you mean about having to take them every day though. I definitely mourned my loss of freedom and having to live my life around the school bell from then on.
Mind you, in our school they weren't so strict with reception kids in the first couple of weeks and were willing to work with parents to introduce them to full days more gradually if they were finding it too tiring etc.
My DH is allergic to cats too. Strange as he grew up with cats and had his own big fat Garfield like cat that slept on his bed, but then he developed allergy related asthma in his teens and has been allergic to cats ever since. Mind you, he is officially allergic to dogs as well, but has developed a tolerance from living with them for all these years.
I would definitely get the vet to check out the white cat's hearing, its very common for pure white animals with blue eyes to be deaf and if he/she is then she will have to be a house cat.
Glad you are feeling more positive. Hope you have a lovely week with DP and the dcs.
