Furry don't think there's much she can do about it now. All the mature trees have gone and it would take years for new ones to regrow. Have told ds1 we can choose some trees to plant together and will start a fruit and veggie patch. He was particularly upset that all the hedging had gone, as he usually collects all the blackberries with daddy to eat on his porridge in the morning and was excited to see they were almost ripe just before we went away. Have had to promise to take him to do pyo next weekend.

Complicated situation really as the house belongs to myself and my sister but my dad's partner manages the trust that its held in.

I'm sure she must have had a good reason, or at the very least misunderstood what we wanted, I can't believe she did it lightly. She is coming round tomorrow to discuss it with DH, I will be keeping well out of the way.

Moose! Fab fab fab to have you back. Have missed you.

Sorry to hear about the thefts and mastitis. Awful. And the sick too. But the trees!! God I would weep. I did weep when the lady across the way chopped hers down, there were nesting birds and a holly that must have been 30 years old, and a wonderful cherry blossom.

You must be gutted.

Glad your tummy behaved!

I have no idea who anyone is. Though I know who I am. So that is good.

elkiedee · 22/08/2009 21:33

I've invited 120cms to FB group already...

Haven't said before but sorry HZ to hear about the damage to your house. You sound much calmer than I would be in your shoes.

moosemama · 22/08/2009 21:36

News! have missed you too - and Dog er, could you put me down now please, I'm starting to get dizzy!

Yes we are really upset about the mature trees, DH in particular loves trees and was even up for the job of local tree warden a couple of years back. He's been quite active in getting tree preservation orders slapped on some trees round here so its both very upsetting and embarrassing for him to have had huge mature trees cut down in his own garden.

We used to have loads of birds, hedgehogs, frogs and the odd visiting fox, along with dragonflies and butterflies. I have only seen one solitary cabbage white all day today and the dawn chorus was none existent.

newspaperdelivery · 22/08/2009 21:39

Oh God.

It is possible to buy quite mature trees if you have a few thousand pounds hanging about.

Suppose a kick ass veggie plot is an upside. Chicken run?

hackney that sounds tre stressful, well done for staying sane! I have no idea who you are, am probably being thick!

moose picking trees etc sounds like a lovely idea. veg patch will be great. It does sound complicated, I hope she has an apology for you. I would keep out of that discussion too!

moosemama · 22/08/2009 21:49

Urgh! Ok Dog am really feeling quite sick now! How are your feet now by the way? Sounded painful that did.

News looked up mature trees today, yep, minimum order of £250 on one site and £500 on another plus they have to be professionally planted. Chicken not such a great idea with my dogs really, although dh has always wanted chickens and an orange eglu to keep them in.

We will still replant though. Would love some hazel hedging across the end fence, a rowan tree for protection, a nice british apple tree and a cherry tree for the beautiful blossom. Would really like a willow, but they aren't so good for domestic gardens as they are very thirsty and have far reaching roots.

HZ Group hasn't gone anywhere - just dropped the MN bit out of the name. It won't appear on your groups list on your profile now but if you click on the two blue people icon in the bottom left of your browser then you will see a list of your groups and it is on there. You are on the group, just checked.

Just for the fun of it.

furrymonster · 22/08/2009 21:51

moose plan- put on your best ninja costume, go to not-too-local park armed with shovel, large lorry and hulk hogan (also in ninja costume), take your pick of trees, sneak off with them, hulk hogan doing all the heavy lifting of course.

We have an eglu we don't have any chickens right now though would love some but don't want to subject them to our very haphazard life. We need some normality before we take resposibility for chickens!

hackneyzoo · 22/08/2009 21:55

moose That's terrible about the garden, especially as gardens are so organic and take years to grow and change. I guess you could use it as oppertunity for your family to start a new garden off together, that will grow with your DCs IYSWIM.

FURRY I have very similar intials to my name before and I got married recently....

Dog Have sent you FB message about how toget on MN group again, am being totally thick today.

Thanks Elki am trying to be philosophical...its only walls and plaster I guess and can be sorted out easily enough

Right, off to watch Constant Gardner..

Gumps · 22/08/2009 21:56

Moose I knew it was you without even checking when I saw the size of the post! Great to have you back but sorry to hear about the garden, that's rubbish. Glad hols were good but to sore boobs, annoying friend and bumpy ferries.
Think I have the name saga sorted. Well we do all need to exercise our baby names so maybe we can make it a once a month thing to test us all (joke far too taxing).
soccerette that was my favourite bit but purely for the music, mr big stuff! Dh was on soccer am once randomly. Think he was nearly as proud of that as his whole career!
HKZ bad news about damage but yeah to shopping for new stuff.

Our family has grown today as my sis bought ds1 2 fish. Seriously all I need is more responsibility. She thinks its hillarious. What will be hillarious is when I buy her a puppy when she has kids. Lets just hope the cats allow them to survive at least until the morning...
Dh away so had take away, wine and x factor. Weeped like a baby, I'm such a sap for a sob story and grannies supporting their families.
S teething I think as has runny nose and only wanted mummy all day. got the hug a bub out which haven't used for ages and he loved it. Grandad was very sad though as he is usually his boy.
Does anyone else feel like they are getting back to 'normal'.
Argh heard me typing and is awake.

LenniAgain · 22/08/2009 21:57

Glass Dog. How was your night out this week? I chuckled to myself when your fb status said you hadn't been out forever - I think you must have totally blanked out your big night out last week! I'm very btw - I'm going away for a night in Sept with DH though. Not for work either. Vvvvvvv excited.

moosemama · 22/08/2009 21:58

You got glass in them didn't you? Crikey, you must've been really really drunk not to remember it. You are very luvvy wuvvy tonight - pimms?

Good plan furry there are some beauties in the park behind our house.

What colour is your eglu Lenni?

PatTheHammer · 22/08/2009 21:59

I am being kicked off the pc as DH wants it....now no more changing names ladies, think I have you all sussed!

Moose: I am starting my veg garden next month when we move, soooooooo excited. Will be asking for help on here though as a total novice!

Gumps · 22/08/2009 21:59

Picked him up and he did a masive burp.
Oh bollocks

newspaperdelivery · 22/08/2009 22:00

EPPM - Can I confess to you please. I just had a pizza. Hope dd isn't too bad when the dairy hits. I took off all the cheese I could but some will have got through. Couldn't resist though!

My mum has chucks. They are bonkers though and sit on the bath in a line, and also go under the bed. They are fully free range though, in so much as she has to go looking in the woods for the eggs. Lovely eggs though.

furrymonster · 22/08/2009 22:02

hackney aaaaah, all becomes clear!

My folks recently had a bad leak in the ceiling of their spare room. I had gone to stay whilst DH was away working, I sat down on the bed to bf DD and realized I had a wet bum, I looked up and the ceiling was bowed and about to come in on my head! The plumber fixed it but I had to sleep with a big whole above my head that went straight up to the loft, creepy and spidertastic. They got it re-plastered and decorated in no time at all and it looks great now. Its a real pita but hopefully won't take too long to put right for you.

Enjoy your movie!

PatTheHammer · 22/08/2009 22:04

news- EPPM is on MN camp in the forest so may not get your confession. Very of it as it sounded great fun.

Gumps- LOL at the burp and the fish. Will tell my DH that yours was on soccer am he will love that!

Green Moose. It blends in with the landscape forests of poorly tended lawn.
