Yeah you're right Uni, someone will turn up and love it Grin or maybe it's meant for our renting neighbours who are waiting to sell their house abroad! who knows!

Is that your sisters family looking to move back stateside then? or another branch?

An hour is still closer than us lot here Smile so looks like we have a busy weekend that isn't really a weekend! ss to get tomorrow, work all day, 2 kids booked for sleepover at ours tomorrow night, plus a mate of mine who rang me earlier too Grin followed by a whole day off on Sunday, which involves taking ss back at some point...am thinking possibly Sculpture Park on way up M1, who knows?

UniS · 09/10/2010 19:16

DHs sister moving back to US in a few weeks. BiL is back there already so it will be reuniting their family and they are all very keen to get going. While they were in UK they lived near big city to the north of you boris and then in a cotswold town, so both a fair way from beaches.
All kids inc boy got VERY excited when boy caught a crab on end of a line, no one else managed to pick one up but tide was racing in and teh water was moving to fast, boy just got lucky .
Today has been a doing jobs day, maybe tomorrow we can get out for a walk. or maybe it too will disappear under jobs. hummrph.

Hope you ladies enjoy what ever days off you get this weekend.

Uni, your beach day sounds lovelySmile. This weather is great eh?

Boris - house will go eventually...just slow. My mum and dad have bought the one in Scotland so the market is moving!!

London was mixed, mostly because I fell over whilst crossing the road outside Euston Station and buggered up my ankleSadBlush. I therefore had to hobble round and beg ice from the bar over dinner etc. We went to see a fab show though.

I then went out with DP and friends on Friday night and got absolutely drink as a skunk! Was sick when we got home and again in the morningShockand was still hungover at 9pm....never again!!

Went and had my ankle x-rayed eventually yesterday but nothing broken, just damaged ligaments. At least I don't need a plaster cast and can enjoy the spa and the driving on Thurs/Fri....might be wincing when I use my clutch foot though!

Borisismyhousespider · 12/10/2010 21:35

Ouch for foot LL, not a good way to get around London Sad gotta laugh at your night out!

Uni I hope you escaped the house work, surprised at your in laws going back so quickly (at least that's how it seems Smile)

Astro, how's it going? have you moved?

Caddy hope your enjoying home.

Well we got as far as sculpture park, but then had to leave, as I fell ill and spent the next two days vomiting, nice Hmm appears there's a bug going round.....better now though Smile phew.

Borisismyhousespider · 12/10/2010 21:36

Oooh had another viewing on Sunday too, wait and see if we hear back from them?

laundrylover · 13/10/2010 14:05

I hope you're feeling better Boris...yuck for vommy bug.

Hurrah though for viewingSmile.

Really need to finish work before I can go away tomorrow...how is it gone 2pm already????

Borisismyhousespider · 13/10/2010 22:52

Just full of glorious snot now! nice....hope it's gone by Friday Confused See you on Fri then, if you're heading down tomorrow night Smile Donnington here we come!

Astrophe · 14/10/2010 10:43

argh for snot and sore feet! Hope you are both 100% again now. Fingers crossed for the house viewing to = house buying Boris!

We are still not moved - owner says we can't extend even by a week, and we still have no house. We have 3 or 4 to apply for this weekend, will apply for all and hope for the best. Asked DD1 today how she is feeling about moving. She said "oh, I'm fine, its just you and Dad who are stressed". So true!

Of course just to make the weekend a little easier, my parents house is up for auction, DD1 has a birthday party and my Mum is in south africa so can't help. Have packed about 6 boxes and have terrible pms cramps. If this move doesn't kill me, watch me weight lift for australia in the next olympics - that show string I'll be :o

Astrophe · 14/10/2010 10:44

strong, even (although perhaps string is more likely!)

Borisismyhousespider · 14/10/2010 22:12

OMG Astro, that sounds like hell Shock I'm keeping my fingers very x'd for you that one of the 4 houses comes up, what on earth will happen if not? do you have to hotel it? go stay with rellies?? or are you not thinking about that Confused (that's an eye boggle by the way not confused) Sending you good house getting vibes. (and will look out for you at the 2012 Olympics Grin)

Still snotty btw, hoping it goes more for tomorrow Hmm

Borisismyhousespider · 15/10/2010 22:36

Hoping you made it home ok LL Smile and had a lovely night out (without the kids!)

Well I can certainly say I had a great day at Donnington today Grin fab day out thanks mumsnet!

UniS · 16/10/2010 23:31

what did you drive at donnington then?? was it wall to wall boden wearing MNers?

No, inlaws were not in Uk for very long. don't get me started.

OP posts:
Borisismyhousespider · 18/10/2010 12:03

Grin Uni!

Drove the S-Max, Kuga, Ranger (and had the Galaxy previously) was fab day out! not quite wall to wall boden, though there were a few Grin gotta dash as Forest School to get to (am helping out)

UniS · 18/10/2010 18:47

Ohhhh forest school , lucky you and girls. what age group?

OP posts:
Borisismyhousespider · 18/10/2010 21:53

Todays batch were age 6/7, we did bridge building out of sticks Grin

laundrylover · 19/10/2010 14:45

Forest school sounds fab Boris. I just phoned a school that I am visiting through the Morrisons Expert Gardener Hmm scheme....they want me to do a whole school assemblyShock.

Uni - you should 've come up. Some people came miles and miles. I wouldn't know a Boden lady if I bumped into one I'm afraid. I was kitted out in TKMax, Tesco and Age Concern but no-one commented!

The driving day was great fun eh? You look REALLY well missus. Your dad is lovely but I did struggle to hear him over the MN chatter at times! I think he had a good day out though?

My sister may have picked up an appetite for spa hotels I fear as she has suggested a weekend in Edinburgh nowGrin.

No word from Astro....send news please - we want to know how you are getting onSad.

UniS · 19/10/2010 19:58

no point me coming up to donnington, it sort of goes against my minimal car miles philosophy...
was also a day boy had a SALT update apt at hospital.

OP posts:
Astrophe · 19/10/2010 21:47

bad news, we didn't get the house we wanted. Still haven't heard about a few others, but we don't really want them anway, so not sure what we'll do if we do get one. Don't really want to commit to 12 month lease of crappy house, but don't want 6 months and move agaain either :(

The packing is mostly done, so think I will take today off packing and try to recover my spirits. had a HUGE cry last ngit and went to bed at 8.30pm - unheard of.

Borisismyhousespider · 20/10/2010 21:45

Oh Astro Sad {{{Big Hugs}}} I wish I had a massive house moving wand for you (and me tooHmm)

LL, well I can't say as I blame your sister Grin after all what girl wouldn't want to!
Dad had a great day thanks, he really enjoyed himself, did him good to shut up and listen to a bunch of women too Grin
and thanks Wink you weren't looking so bad yourself Grin (although I had a ton of makeup on, which I don't normally do, but I was so pasty from my cold!)

Uni, so how did it go with boy?

'Facepalm' for the estate agents here today, we asked for a sign to go up in the rear garden (we back onto a main road) so the friggin ejjits took away the one on the other side 'doh!' Confused (no one was home)

Cat's also gone missing Sad he went out yesterday am after breakfast and hasn't been seen since, hoping he's just stuck in someones shed.....

Astrophe · 21/10/2010 12:17

Oh Boris, so very sorry to read about your cat on FB :( I hope you all (and especially the kids) are holding up ok. :(

Borisismyhousespider · 21/10/2010 21:17

Hi Astro, thanks for thinking of us. It's very Sad about our poor cat (he was only 15 mths old), dd2 is not sure what to make of the whole thing, dd1 has taken a look at him tonight and has chosen a bush for us to bury him under, which we'll do tomorrow morning before school (I'll be up early then!) I've said no replacements until we move, as they've already asked for another one Hmm

UniS · 22/10/2010 19:31

sorry about cat.
arrrgh about house.
must dash, should be cooking and finishing a scarecrow.
Boy and SALT was fineish. Hes done VVVV well with 1st sound we worked on ( F), he asked for k sound next and is finding that rather harder... like can't say it at all. or rather has managed to just about make k sound on 3 occasions across a week of trying every day.

laundrylover · 23/10/2010 20:42

Hello ladies,

Catching up with thread. Lots of news:
Uni, progress sounds good on F! Roll on K!

Boris, has the cat turned up yet? Hope so Sad

Astro, any news from the other houses yet? Not surprised you needed a good cry - I nearly did today after a day looking at laptops with the kids in tow. Ours has died. Am doing this on my phone which is a bit of a faff.

The highlight of the day was when K snatched a headband out of Tilly's mouth, removing her second wobbly tooth with it! Lots of blood but no tooth in the Aldi aisle! We have written a note for the tooth fairy!

Borisismyhousespider · 23/10/2010 22:19

OMG LL I can just imagine the scene in Aldi Shock glad it wasn't my dd1, she'd have screamed the place down, with not only the tooth coming out, but the fact it was lost as well. I'm sure the tooth fairy was very happy with a note Wink

Hope you can get a laptop sorted soon, there must be a good deal out there somewhere? (the dredded Tesco?) Could you pick up a netbook on contract? on 2nd thoughts I'm guessing a laptop is better for work.....sending you good cheap hunting vibes.

Astro, posted on your facebook as well, but really hope you get the next place you apply for, when do you have to be out by, or have you had to leave this weekend? {{{Hugs}}}

Waves at Caddy and uni

Oh LL sadly Sad cat no longer with us, guess you had difficulty thread viewing on phone. I'm really missing him....
Sodding car has broken again today too, back box on exhaust needs fixing and dad's mate (reitired garage owner) is taking it and sorting that on monday, along with the possibly more expensive bit, which is that it's miss firing and they need to figure out why that is..... rather a pants week here, I'm due some good luck I think??!!
We have a viewing tomorrow, fingers x'd our luck changes for the better eh!

UniS · 24/10/2010 18:41

fingers Xed for you boris .

Have you read "dave and the tooth fairy" dave loses his tooth when it falls out and substitutes Granddads false teeth under his pillow. TF VVVV confused.

Boy and I had a good day competing in village produce and craft show. And fancy dress for carnival. Whole family ( plus friends) came 2nd in our class in main carnival parade. Boy won best in Class, Under 5s for his play dough interpretation of spot the dog. and My Gluten free choc cake won its class.

Any of yo good on shoulder/ upper arm problems.? ... now very painfull ( increasingly so since Thursday) to raise arm to shoulder height or rotate outwards. or do anything with really. no idea what I've done. guess I'll go to quack if no better by Thursday.
