i got two new slings this week, oops. i got a maya ring sling for just using around the house and quick trips out when i will be driving (like dropping dd1+2 at nursery and pre school) and a lovely calin bleu gauze wrap. so thats why it started raining lol.

Serena is doign well now. she gulped down a bottle of EBM whilst i had my driving lesson, so have got mroe out of the freezer for tomorrow instead of relying on the formula. i do use formula for her baby rice tho. its just easier for me. We are off next week to the hospital for a week, then the day after we get back i have to take her for a scan , not looking forward to that, but am confident it will be clear. Then we can talk about getting her lump by her ear removed. Just wish i wasnt doing thsi all by myself.

i weighed her with myself the other day, and she weighed approx 15lb. so she has almost doubled her birthweight at 5months (another lb to go!). she still looks tiny to me tho.

Just put Lauren down on the floor to play, which is where she is happiest. Find that although she still enjoys her gym, she doesn't roll and kick as much as when she's just on the floor. She is making a huge racket at the moment. I definetely think she's going to be a chatterbox, because she doesn't shut up for a second. Oh yes, for some reason she never makes a sound when she's in her pram. Too busy looking to talk I think.
She has discovered 'rasberries' now and thinks it's very funny to do them with a mouth full of food. Makes for an even messier feeding time at the zoo!
Misdee - I hope everything is ok with Serena.

we weighed Niklas a few days ago (on the scales with dh), he was around 8kg, thats over 17lb ! He has well over doubled his birth rate. He has gained 1kg in the last month!

Went into work yesterday. We have moved buildings and I have a new desk in the corner of an office with 10 nerdy, techy, IT guys. Great! I'm really looking forward to it !

Misdee hope the driving lessons are going well

any updates of weight and ages of all our babies ?

what about solids - anyone started yet ? if so what and when ?

Pidge · 28/07/2005 13:46

Iris - 4.5 months, around 17 1/2 lbs (90th centile last time she was weighed), no solids yet and not planning to till 6 months.

Just took the girls swimming again with my mum, which was fantastic. Dd1 has remembered how to swim independently with one of those floaty swimsuits on. Meanwhile Iris looked like she was attempting to swim the channel doing furious front crawl. She was so exhausted by her exploits she just fell asleep whilst I was holding her in the changing rooms!

It's our last day here in Wales today, the long drive home looms tomorrow. Hopefully though our computer will have broadband when we get back, so I should be able to continue checking in here regularly.

Misdee - good luck with the driving.

Leogaela - you have my sympathy with the nerdy IT blokes, I'll be surrounded by them when I return to work.

Feel so bad, haven't been on this thread for ages!! - Not abandoning it I promise!!

Am going to get Faith weighed tomorrow so will give a full update then, but wanted to say she has been having a little "solids" for about 3wks now, has taken to it pretty well but I've on'y given either pureed fruit or baby rice - which she likes quite thick and cold (uuurrgggghhh!!). This is probably due to her "first taste" being a bit of icecream from DH 3wks ago! - Yes i went mad. So she likes cold food.

Christina congrats on passing your test, and good luck misdee .

Will be back tomorrow

Leogaela · 28/07/2005 14:59

Niklas is 5 months 1 week and about 8Kg (something over 17lb).

No solids yet, but we are planning to start in the next week or two. The last couple of days I have given him a piece of apple to suck on which he seems to quite enjoy. he also enjoyed licking a slice of lemon!!!!

We are planning to start on potatoes (couldn't get the baby rice (or semolina) here so I've given up on that one)! I've also got some millet for cereal (natural souce of vitamin B and a ground wheat thing but that contains gluten so will wait a while for that.
