WARNING mammoth post! You lot have been chatty and I have been drinking wine, so I went for it and typed this lot...
Trying to catch up - first off, evening everybody and I hope everyone's doing ok. Will try to respond but apologies to anyone I've forgotten as I'm sure there's a few .
Spangle hope you get the right news following your post-wedding pill mistake - sounds like you're not sure what news you'd prefer though . Me and dh, being most likely completely insane, would actually really like to get pg again soon - we'd definitely like at least 1 more and preferably all close together, to get the newborns and nappies out of the way in one go (err, because life is that straightforward ). Obviously though for that to happen we have to actually do the deed and unfortunately so far we're with Momino and others who have yet to manage it ... Probably just as well, knowing my luck I would get pg immediately and end up regretting it due to total knackeredness. Glad to know we're not alone anyway, last time it took us about 3 months and as we near that point now I'm not sure whether I'm getting nervous or gearing up for it again . I do remember like llare (?) mentioned that lube is rather necessary for those who bf though so perhaps it's time to do some shopping...
Anyway...
Sausage nice to see you again. Sorry to hear about your PND but great about your PhD. I hope it all goes well. And your wedding too, of course! I'm sure it'll be a lovely day - I hope the planning is enjoyable rather than stressful. And I would love to come on the virtual hen night, if I may - mmm I'll have a few of those famous cocktails please !
Belgian good luck with the move - you do indeed sound like superwoman with all that packing at short notice! Hope you have a good time in Belgium. T also loves his baby gym and is doing lots of shouting, like your C.
Dandy and Spangle I'm a night owl too, very frustrating when you know you have to get up early. Although I also find it frustrating to not get up first, I really love having the house to myself before it gets busy. I'm pretty lucky in being able to cope ok on not very much sleep.
Runningmonkey enjoy your sofa when you get it.
Re playing with toddlers, I am finding that it has taken me several months to 'warm up' to the work of full time mum in that respect. I've just recently started making sure we have a morning activity and an afternoon one which seems to keep dd happy and enetertained, and me sane . I'm enjoying her company much more now that we've got that sorted. Still, much easier in summer as we can go out to the park a lot, so we'll see how we do when it starts raining. Belgium is a bit short on good indoor activities like soft play or something.
Pula I hope your week indoors isn't too horrendous and your poor dcs are ok.
Regiee T is ridiculously cute too atm! No really, not just because I'm his mum. In fact, being this subjective about my beautiful dcs is my favourite thing about parenthood. They're so lovely! (They're both sleeping - this helps ).
T too gets neck rash, mostly smelling of cheese because of dribbling milk. Luckily it's manageable with regular wiping/drying.
Re work I am due to go back in Jan but have been considering going in Feb instead by taking extra parental leave (paid, but less than my mat leave). That way I can introduce T to solids and the creche during his 7th month, so he'll hopefully be settled with both before I go back. This is what I did with dd and it worked out really well. My main worry is I don't know exactly what I'll go back to - I'm very very lucky to be a career civil servant and having left my previous posting when I went on mat leave, I am guaranteed a job when I go back. But if I want a good one I need to apply/lobby for a position I actually want. At the moment I am not thinking about it as will be pretty to leave T, but I will have to at some point. I am not really cut out to be a SAHM I think - like belgian I am hoping to work part time so I still see the dcs enough to feel like I don't leave them too much - but I am already sort of looking forward to having something else to do.
Well here we are all more or less fine - although I had a wisdom tooth removed a week ago and have been in pain ever since as it has got infected. Going to the dentist again tomorrow and hopefully he will be able to give me something to treat it - so far I have just been told that I must stick to mild painkillers or give up bf , which I am not going to do. It's going really well and I am so not going to start with bottles etc for the sake of some toothache. Still, I wake up with it at night and in RL have been grumbling like mad so am really hoping we can do something to sort it out. Right now I have had a bit (err, quite a bit...) more wine than I should have because it's by far the best thing for getting to sleep .
Apart from that, I am off camping at Greenbelt festival at the weekend with my best friend and parents and the dcs! Pretty nervous! I bet it will rain the entire time .
