laVache, how annoying - I go to the big scream nearly every wed but only next wed have to meet up with a friend who's just gone through a horrendous time (ie, I can't cancel).

would love to meet you and farting baby . i'm free wed following or reebee said 2nd is good for her so we might try then?

lavache Can't believe you never noticed the cheese box earrings before. Those beautiful earrings used to really fascinate me when I was little. Very exciting news about your house in France. We might have to go and park our caravan there for a night next year.

I've got 30 fairy cakes here, together with Lavache's choc orange cake we'll be able to have a wonderful tea party today

LaVacheQuiRit · 12/08/2009 18:22

'LaVache' just sounds so much more sophisticated than 'Grumpy' (although Grumpy is usually very apt).

Momi Yes I will be free the week after, and I am sure S will still be farting

Belgian Please do come and park your caravan, it's about 1.5 hours from La Rochelle. The earrings - the box is too small to notice them!! I never noticed if they sold Rit-ing Vache earrings in the shop, I would have bought some!

Cake cooking, it smells lovely. It's a recipe I've fiddled and fiddled with so am not totally sure what result I'll get.

LoobyLou36 · 12/08/2009 19:03

evening all

M slipped out of her pushchair and fell on the floor [bad bad mummy]
she is okay - I think I was more shocked than she was
I'm still shaking just thinking about it

Belgianchocolates · 12/08/2009 19:05

Big new here: dd1 has just lost her 1st milk tooth. She's been dying to get a visit from the tooth fairy ever since ds lost his last tooth. Her wish has now come true

la vache 1.5h in what direction? We're planning to go down the atlantic coast next year, you see. Somehow we'll also have to take in the Dordogne to visit some friends there too Not sure how we'll do that, but hey, we've got a whole year to think about it.

runningmonkey · 12/08/2009 19:14

Just popping back on to say bye, off in the camper tomorrow am, see you all in a week (or sooner if camping with a 10 week old is a bit much!) x x

Belgianchocolates · 12/08/2009 19:36

runningm You'll be fine. C was 10 weeks when we went caravaning. Have fun and enjoy your holiday

Reggiee · 12/08/2009 19:37

Looby are you and M ok? This happened to me last week and was horrific (B fell backwards out of pushchair head first onto wooden floor). Did M fall bum first = soft landing? Do you have a carpet? We took B to hospital on Dr's advice as the skull is v soft at this age. After seeing paeds and consultants, plus Xrays, all thankfully was well.
I was in bits too - I know exactly what you are feeling and it took me 24hrs to stop crying. BTW the doctors were very reassuring and told me it is very very common as people do not realise how much the lo's can move at such a young age.

Belgianchocolates · 12/08/2009 19:46

Oh looby so sorry I didn't notice your x-post. Can only second what Reggie said. If she fell on her head then it might be worth a checkover by a dr. Hope you're OK.

Right. Off to change a bum and put a tired baby to bed.

Reggiee · 12/08/2009 19:56

RUNNING have a fab holiday. Hope the weather is kind to you

BELGIAN what's the going rate for teeth these days?

MOMI / REEBEE / VECHE I'm free Wed 2nd (proviso our loft conversion starts that week so provided I'm not needed at home>

LAVECHE sorry to hear about your guinea pigs. I posted a rubbish comment on FB but forgot to offer sympathies .

SES could O wear one gown for the baptism and one gown for the 'do' afterwards (presuming there is a do)? Or decline both?

LOOBS you are doing so well with the bf - just think how far you've come in 16 weeks. Really wish you wouldn't feel sad each time you give her formula top up. Agree with everyone else re your dh. He is behaving like an ar$e.

SOPHIE pmsl at spork - what a fab idea. I was wondering what one was so v glad you explained it. What a great idea. DH needs one of those when we go for a chinese instead of chopsticks

BELGIAN is it possible for a little monkey one to get out of a Bumbo? We borrowed one for DD but she hated it so didn't bother, however B is forever wanting to sit up and I don't know what to do with him. DD wasn't at this stage for ages. It is funny seeing the differences - B loves tummy time and can push himself well up onto his chest for ages and have a good look around, whereas DD could barely stick her tongue out before having to rest her weary head on the floor.

SLEEP having a nightmare during the day. I am a bit of a routine kinda gal, but B is a horror to put down whilst at home despite yawning, falling asleep on bottle, rubbing eyes etc - as soon as he goes in his cot in the day he screams (from 0 to full on high pitched screams in no seconds). He will fall asleep if we're out in the pushchair but don't want to get into habit of only falling asleep in pushchair. Plus am frightened to leave him in the pc in the house since he fell out of it last week.
Nightime however have been great for the past 3 weeks. Bed by 6pm, dreamfeed at 10.30pm then awake c 6.30am.

Well today I went to the doctors who confirmed I have a prolapse . Am being referred for physio and if that doesn't work will need an operation.

Hello to everyone else.

pulapula · 12/08/2009 20:05

I've tried S in a bumbo today as he's a sitting up and looking round baby too. He doesn't like being on his back for long, as it usually results in wind, hiccups or gagging on/swallowing something (milk/saliva?).

Momino- I can't do 2nd July as S has his 4 month jabs then but i guess we just need to go with whatever date suits most people

sophietom · 12/08/2009 20:15

spork
enjoy your hols running reggiee hope the physio helps
TMI alert... J didn't poo for nearly three days. When he was having his bath tonight he pooed in the bath so I lifted him out and plonked him on change mat whilst I emptied baby bath and rinsed it out, but he kept on pooing so it was all on the mat- I had to put him in the empty baby bath and scrape the mat off into the loo and clean it down with antibacterial spray and a j-cloth, meanwhile J carried on pooing in the empty bath it was coming out like a mister whippy ice cream! I then got a disposable maternity mat left over from my pg and put that on the changing mat and put J on top of that while I cleaned his bath again (J still pooing). Poor mite was covered in poo! I had to clean him down using about 20 wipes and then re-bath him. No wonder he had been miserable today -he must've been feeling rotten. I never thought a tiny baby could produce so much poo- it was so funny (if I hadn't laughed I would've prob cried) and although J got a bit upset when he was lying on the mat he was all smiles again when he got back in the bath and has been asleep since getting out the bath- it has obv tired him out!
Hope no one is eating their tea while they read this

LoobyLou36 · 12/08/2009 20:41

have a great holiday running

Belgianchocolates · 12/08/2009 20:43

reggie No lo's can't get out of bumbos. They slope backwards a little + the thing between their legs keeps them in too. I stopped using it with dd1 once she could escape, which was more or less the same time she started crawling. As for the tooth fairy. Not sure what the going rate is. I'm debating whether to give 50p or £1. Dd1's dream is using one of those toy machines and she needs a pound for that. She knows DS did it after his last visit of the tooth fairy, so I think it might have to be £1. Good luck with the physio. I think it'll be mainly pelvic floor excersises that you'll get. It's worth a try to avoid surgery though.

sophietome PMSL at your poo story. I can just imagine what it must have been like. I'm not surprised he's feeling better now.

On the subject of poo: after 2 days of bits and pieces C's finally done her big leaky one. I knew I was due one

I'm sure there was an episode about sporks in Seinfeld or something, cos I know them from somewhere.

Belgianchocolates · 12/08/2009 20:44

re-read my post and I think it's a bit unclear. I meant that lo's of our lo's age can't escape, but they can when they're a bit older and mobile

LoobyLou36 · 12/08/2009 20:48

was looking at bumbo's on ebay but they are quite expensive belgian what age were your lo's able to escape?

LaVacheQuiRit · 12/08/2009 21:06

sophietom snigger snigger snigger at the poo. I'm sure he feels brilliant now though!! PS. I have a sister called Sophie and a brother called Tom so I like your name!!

Sporks are fab, aren't they?!

belgian It's near Limoges, so East inland from La Rochelle. We've just been to the Dordogne, near Cahors. 'Twas full of English people.

running Have a great holiday!!

Bedtime calls for DD2, back soon!!!!

LaVacheQuiRit · 12/08/2009 21:16

Awwwww.

DD1 has just come home. She's been dumped. I told her he didn't deserve her anyway. Poor thing. First heartbreak.

llareggub · 12/08/2009 21:21

Bumbo to be honest we hardly used it with DS1 unless we were at someone else's house when it came in very handy as a portable feeding chair. DS1 never really took to it, and was a relatively early cruiser and once he got the hang of cruising he wouldn't be left in the bumbo. But really handy for the weaning stage though! All of our NCT babies had one and we've got a really cute photo of them in their bumbos.

sophietom good luck with the interview and well done!

vache I'm still too to speak to you! And thanks for the good wishes, we're very excited.

Looby are you both alright now?

Reebee fingers crossed about the redundancies.

running have a great holiday.

I think my incredible sleeping baby has learnt poor sleeping habits from his older brother. Last night was very bad!

LaVacheQuiRit · 12/08/2009 21:23

Oh God Loobs yes, I hope you are both ok now.

Belgianchocolates · 12/08/2009 21:44

LaVache Limoges! We went through that to go to go to the people we know in the Dordogne. 6 years ago we bought a barn there with the intention of doing it up and renting it out as a holiday home, but 5 years later nothing had happened to it, so we sold it to the barn's neighbours who actually use it as a barn.
Give your dd1 a virtual hug from. It's not nice being dumped.

bumbo I used it a lot with dd1. Like llare said: it came in really handy with early weaning, especially with it being totally wipable . I think I used it with my dd until she was about 8m or so. Can't quite remember. It was expensive, but if you shop around you can get it cheaper. Mothercare near me was having a sale on and they were only £20.

Momino · 12/08/2009 22:15

running, have a good hol
looby, hope you and LO are ok. don't beat yourself up... it happens. we all have a story similar to yours - dd1 fell from a bouncy chair that was on a worktop (what was I thinking?) and had a slight fracture in the back of her head. it was awful.
sophitom, good luck on the interview.
reebee, hope all goes well with jobs, fingers crossed!
llare, hope baby sleeps for you tonight!
belgian, yummy buns you've made! I think that's what we'll do tomorrow.

no 'day off' for me tomorrow since dd1&2 have chickenpox (boo!)and won't be going to nursery. I'm glad they were discovered at the end of today so at least I had today alone with harper. I haven't found any spots yet on H but it's only a matter of time isn't it?

OP posts:
llareggub · 12/08/2009 22:20

God yes, poor old DS1 fell all over the place as a baby. He fell off the bed, the sofa, off his bouncy chair onto our hard kitchen floor...oh, and DH fell over with him in his arms. It is all part of becoming a mother I think.

Loobey is your pay situation sorted yet?

Jennster · 13/08/2009 09:40

Looby HOpe you're feeling better about M and the pushchair. It's amazing how they move. I left R on the floor in the bathroom for 5 minutes and she managed to move over a metre! Dd1 also managed to fall the full length of the stairs when she had just started walking (couldn't put a gate at the top of the stairs) and I spent the whole night in casualty crying about it.

LoobyLou36 · 13/08/2009 10:09

morning

M and I are both fine altho I did spend most of the night awake watching her

llare pay situation not sorted yet altho I will talk to my boss soon cos I definatly can't afford to go back if I don't get paid more will sort it out!
