Stripey, I wasn't feeling so poorly yesterday and you can't take Tamiflu if you are breastfeeding anyway. If you are desperately ill they can prescribe Relenza, if not, you just have to suffer.
Thanks for the magic dust Ray. No teeth here either yet, but lots and lots and lots of dribble - yuk! I used elements of Gina Ford's methods when I had ds1, not for weaning, but for feed times, naps, settling etc. It worked really well for him and he was a very easy baby. We didn't do the whole routine, as we like to be a bit more spontaneous. Like you said, we just selected the bits that suited our lifestyle and worked them into our own routine.
Poor dd missed out on her first ever solids with all the commotion about ds1 yesterday. We are hopefully going to try again this evening. (baked sweet potato wedges and steamed broccoli)
She was really, really cranky this morning so decided to give her a feed then bath, followed by massage and nekked baby time as that usually cheers her up. (To be honest, I was starting to get a bit worried that she might be getting poorly.) It worked, thank goodness, she really perked up after a good splash about and was delightful and giggly when Mum just popped round with extra supplies of calpol and vitamins. She is now asleep in her swing - long may it last.
DH called to say there are five people out of his office with swine flu now and one guy came back today after 5 days off sick with it. Apparently his main symptoms were bad diarrhea and a headache and high temperature but his gp diagnosed swine flu and gave him the anti virals. I'm not sure that they've actually got it myself, sounds more like some sort of stomach bug to me, but hey whadda I know?!
Our friends' little girl (age 5) has also been diagnosed (they live a loooong way away from us) and they can't get her to take the tamiflu pills. They've tried it in every food and drink they can think of and she just won't have it. Nowhere seems to be able to get hold of the liquid suspension, so kids are having to take the pills. They are tiny, but taste foul.
