NuttyTaff well done on breeding a Godzilla Baby. I've got one as well, he's gone from 5lb 15oz at birth to 12lb 4oz 2 weeks ago, we are due a weigh in today. Now he appears to have eaten Tokyo I imagine he'll be well over 13lb if not more!

I'm looking for a Godzilla outfit for him at the moment

Boff how is DD today?

Bleu how is Meg today?

Bicnod not only does Sam grunt and strain in his sleep, he now shouts out. 12 weeks old next Saturday, I'm hoping he grows out of it fairly quickly!

Surprisingly enough he only wakes me not his daddy!

Nutty, why wouldn't they let you give her a hug. That's pathetic that they wouldn't let you comfort your child. I wouldn't have taken no for an answer. Sod them. If they don't understand that children need comforting from time to time, they shouldn't work with them!

Swaliswan · 08/07/2009 11:02

Anyone have a Prince Lionheart Slumber Bear? I'm considering getting one to help DD2 settle herself to sleep in her cot during the day and for the first night time settling.

Swali great news that you can start taking B's harness off. (Sorry bit belated on that one but just wanted to say)

Bleu how is Meg today? It's horrid when there seems to be something wrong and you don't know what, isn't it?

Boff hope your DD's antibs kick in soon and she's back to her food-stealing self again.

Surprise gosh that's a shock about your friend's stroke - do get your BP checked and sorted. And stay away from the swine flu

Maths I've definitely been bitten by DS1 lots and lots, though I don't know if I developed any good ways of coping with it. He used to have a specific naughty facial expression before he did it - he'd look me right in the eye, I'd shove my finger on to try to break his latch, he'd bite down and it would be a bit of a battle of wills. Apparently you're not supposed to shout out if they bite you because it frightens the baby. Yeah right.

Bicnod fingers crossed for continued small sleep improvements. Edmund doesn't grunt and strain in his sleep I'm afraid, he just wakes up - DS1 was the same. I could never understand how other babies thrashed around, he never slept long enough to do that.

Dawn LOL at Godzilla baby.

Nutty Terrible about Phoenix's sports day. You must be so angry and rightfully so.

I have spent sooo much money today I'm ashamed. I bought so much shopping I couldn't lift it - twas mostly presents for other people, charity shop stuff and art supplies though. It should be my DD's fifth birthday tomorrow, and we usually buy presents for DS1 in celebration of it. This year, though, I got so much at a nearly new sale, that DH and I decided we ought to use that for presents and save our money. But I've been feeling horrible this year (oddly - never had an anniversary reaction before) so I've bought both boys two books each and feek much better. Hope DH forgives me. Had better actually manage to cook dinner this evening

Bicnod · 08/07/2009 13:03

Schulte there isn't really anywhere to escape to in our flat - but I might try wearing earplugs tonight - is that really bad? I'd still hear O if he cried I'm sure...

Dawn - haha, my DH also sleeps through Oscar's antics, and I spend quite a lot of time wanting to punch him because of it... there's nothing more irritatin than a slumbering partner when you can't sleep yourself

Nutty - I can't believe that they wouldn't bring her to you - she's your child ffs poor little mite - have you talked about it with her since?

MamaG - thanks for the crossed fingers... coming on this thread helps a lot as its clear I'm not the only one with a sleepless baby (my antenatal group does NOT help with this... all their babies sleep through apparently )

Swali - I haven't got one, but I'd love to hear how you get on with it if you do get one...

Hope Bleu and Meg are ok.

I just made it round the shops without O waking up - hurrah! He seems to love sleeping in his buggy - hopefully this nap means it will be a non-grumpy baby day...

mrsgboring · 08/07/2009 13:12

and i have bashed my car again - drove home from reschool with wing mirror dangling. however it seems to have gone back together

Bleuravin · 08/07/2009 13:42

So Meg is still spitting up yellowy flecks and having mucous poo, but apparently there's nothing wrong. She was an absolute bear this morning too, not my usually happy go lucky cherub. And we're still fussy this morning... NHS direct said same as GP's call yesterday afternoon. Just don't know something going on.

Nutty,WFH, I should get your numbers perhaps...
We had to make another emergency run to Bristol this morning, because we couldn't get DH to the train station because of multiple accidents in town and Ashes traffic. BUT we got stuck on the M4 because of an accident too. So he still got in late, super late. :P
I actually fed Meg in the car coasting down the M4 at 3mph ...because she was due a feed and screaming bloody murder (which has become our new norm). Speaking of which the little darling is at it again. off to scream silently as I rock my child.

Kalikaroo · 08/07/2009 13:51

Afternoon everyone!

Bicnod - are you me?????? A has pretty much exactly the same sleeping pattern as your little one - I too feel like the walking dead (DH has been on the couch for the last month ). I feel your pain!!! . Unfortunately I think it's just the way our babies are. Hopefully they'll grow out of it and sleep through sometime before they go to school! A is also a wriggling, groaning, farting, noisy creature in the second half of the night! and I can't escape it because we only have a small flat. Earplugs are definitely the way to go I reckon!

......I've bought A a cot and tonight's the night he's going to be put in it after co-sleeping with me since he was born.

I would love to continue co-sleeping but can't because our bed's not safe to do it any more (he can roll off it) and DH wants to stop sleeping on the couch.

To be honest our bed is not the best for co-sleeping anyway - soft mattress which slopes when you lie on it and it's pretty high off the ground. Oh well. Wish I had a futon!!!!!

Also must admit that it's also because DH and I are at a crisis point in our marriage and we need the intimacy back . Looks like having a new baby is really tough on relationships going by what everyone's been saying on here.

Sorry for the whinge.

Maths teething??? How can you tell? A had been very dribbly over the last week or so and constantly gnawing at his fingers, sometimes in a very desperate way . Do you reckon it's his teeth?

Mrsboring It's good to have some retail therapy from time to time, especially if it's buying stuff for your kids.

Bleu I hope Meg's feeling a bit better today. It's horrible when there are days when your baby isn't feeling well and is out of sorts. A had a very grumpy/crying day yesterday and had a complete feeding strike on my right boob, which he tends to do when something is bothering him. It makes me really anxious at the time. He's better today but my right boob is like a blooming watermelon because I overdid the expressing with it yesterday to relieve the water melon-ness! Can't win really!

Boff Hope DD kidney infection starts to improve soon and she gets back into dairy-milk eating! Can't imagine the frustration of someone giving me a huge bar of chocolate and me not feeling like eating it!!! (and then my Mum eating it instead.... )

Hope everyone else is having a good day so far.

Kalikaroo · 08/07/2009 13:58

Bleu poor you! (and poor Meg). If you have a gut feeing that something's wrong can you see a different GP?

A hasn't been himself over the last week either - nothing very specific, just crying more than usual and making a big fuss every time I try to feed him. Yesterday he actually got hysterical and held his breath when I tried to feed him (with the dreaded right boob! ) He also had a rubbish night and was up every hour with a really blocked nose and even had a nose-bleed at one point. He went completely crazy when I tried to get saline drops up his nose to clear it. He eventually sneezed out 2 huge bogies and felt a bit better after that (sorry - TMI )!

If there turns out to be no medical reason, maybe it's just a developmental thing they're going through?

Juwesm · 08/07/2009 14:03

Oh lawks, think possibly teething here too. Have had the most hellish morning. Praise be to Calpol.

Juwesm · 08/07/2009 14:05

Sending virtual cake to all Fanjo Warriors, for we are having hard times! Virtual (but delicious) salad is also available for the virtuous.

This too shall pass
This too shall pass
This too shall pass

Swaliswan · 08/07/2009 14:26

Cake sounds good to me. Mind you, any food sounds good as B is clearly having a growth spurt. I think that a mars bar is called for with a cup of decaf tea. Mmmmmmmmmmm.

Kalikaroo · 08/07/2009 14:30

I'm sitting here with a huge bar of Fazer chocolate. It was supposed for DH and I to share and I've already guzzled more than half...oops!

Kalikaroo · 08/07/2009 14:34

Juwesm thanks for the cake and boo to teething!

Swali Mars bars are a necessity to fuel growth spurts dontcha know! (ooh - fancy a mars bar now...where's the rest of that chocolate?)

B52s · 08/07/2009 15:09

Had Sam's 8 week check up at 10 weeks (they hadn't realised he'd been born - that would make me - 50 weeks pregnant) and was told by Doctor he has a heart murmur. Off to the hospital for a scan in August.

He's sleeping better (waking up once for a feed around 4am) and is still mostly co-sleeping with me.

Poor little mite - hope he's okay.

Kalikaroo · 08/07/2009 15:40

B52s hope Sam is ok and it's nothing to worry about.

Very at your health centre not knowing you'd had your baby!

Good to hear Sam's sleeping much better - can you bottle whatever it is you're giving him and send it to me?

Schulte · 08/07/2009 16:26

B52, what's this? You have the same due date as me, have your baby on the same day, he weighs the same as H, and now they both have heart murmurs?! We haven't got a date for seeing the specialist yet though - am waiting for doc to write the referral letter... Fingers crossed for Sam.

Bleuravin · 08/07/2009 17:16

oh dear, hope everyone's lo's end up being ok. !! hugs
I just walked mine around the east side of cardiff for 3 hours trying to get her to sleep/ calm down...and of course we turn down the hill to our house and finally her eyes close! sat out in front of the house for 20min while she napped for fear of moving her and starting the whole scenerio again...

mathshoneybunny27 · 08/07/2009 17:17

I knew because as you said, lots of dirbbling (not sick), gnawing on things (trying to gnaw on dummy bless) and unsettled (HA!).

kazkiss · 08/07/2009 18:01

I am with you all on the teething thing x2 ! have been now for about the past 8 weeks! lovely stuff. I love bonjela, calpol and lots of hugs (needed for me occasionally when incessent screaming (mainly on ollies part) does not stop!!!)

The drooling is lovely and means i am permantly covered in something now (drool, bonjela, calpol,or sick)

Izzie is not as bad as she will chew on her dummy and just drool but ollie screams the house down regularly.

On a plus side they are both now very chatty and giggly!

oh by the way hi girlies!!! i am reading but not having much time to post. although nutty i love the idea of the t-shirts. GO FANJO WARRIORS!!!!!

Oh on a side note. how many babies are rolling and stuff. My two seem to hate being on there tummy for any length of time alhtough they are both brilliant at sitting up holding their heads.

Bleuravin · 08/07/2009 18:04

don't you just love it how you start thinking you need new things for your baby to wear because the old stuff is getting old....and a package magically appears at the front door
