Nutty have you been to Bamba beads on Gloucester Rd? I drove by it today and it looked cool.

girlylala0807 · 07/07/2009 19:24

Hello,

ive been very bad and not said hello for a while. Sorry. Babies are hard work.

Hope you are all well

Will read through thread soon enough.

Bleuravin · 07/07/2009 19:29

Hi girly! babies ARE hard work! I so agree.

Bleuravin · 07/07/2009 19:32

I put her in the swing and now she's asleep, and not on me...

FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM!

Bleuravin · 07/07/2009 19:32

It was a surprise visit. DH was running late for work and I had to bring back a bra at the Born shop.

Schulte · 07/07/2009 20:35

Swali, your post earlier about massaging B - it nearly made me cry too - you'll have such lovely cuddles and baths together, and of course she loves you not just because of the boobs! LOL at Nutty's she knows you inside and out. She does you know! It must be hard though with the harness - I know that for those 2 weeks after our hip scan and before I got the results, I kept thinking how difficult it would be for H and me if she needed one. You're both doing brilliantly xxx

Bleu, hope Meg is okay. H sometimes does that choking on air thing, like she wants to throw up, probably when she has a little bit of reflux. But sounds like something did upset Meg's little tummy.

Off to find something exciting on iplayer now. Nighty night!

mrsgboring · 07/07/2009 21:07

thank you all for your sleep info. cant post now as literallly blind with tiredness - got to bed late ds1 got us up at 4 and hasnt stopped all day. he's at nursery tomorrow so proper catch up then. hugs and apologies to all

Swaliswan · 07/07/2009 21:41

I've just put B down in a fairly wakeful state (although so drowsy it will hopefully work!) and fingers crossed she will fall asleep by herself in the dark. I'm not expecting it to work though!

Swaliswan · 07/07/2009 21:45

Typical, she has the hiccups and is getting upset by them. I'll have to try again...

BoffinMum · 07/07/2009 21:58

What I thought Nutty was saying to us, after using an online Welsh to English translation tool:

Morning good s! Manner you are being you today? I am being crookedly he locks ise today!! xxx'n large cwtch ))

What I tried to say back in Welsh:

I am fine thank you. You have no excuse to have messy hair given your profession, whereas for me as an academic it is almost obligatory, along with the hair growing out of my facial wart.

I have a feeling Nutty was not discussing being crookedy of the locks now!!!

Swaliswan · 07/07/2009 22:00

Boff, any news on DD?

BoffinMum · 07/07/2009 22:01

I also confused cwtch with cwm.

BTW, have you all seen this Welsh film??

Heap of Trouble

BoffinMum · 07/07/2009 22:03

DD is still in hospital. Mum and I went to see her again this evening. She is not eating, very subdued and had an MRI scan earlier but they found it really was just a very nasty kidney infection. She is on two kinds of IV antibiotics, augmentin and gentomycin. We will hear more tomorrow.

Swaliswan · 07/07/2009 22:14

Don't underestimate a nasty kidney infection, Boff. I've been hospitalised with one before and I truly felt terrible. The antibiotics did start to work really quickly though and I soon felt much better. It was far better than struggling on at home trying to keep antibiotic tablets down.

Swaliswan · 07/07/2009 22:15

I'm off to bed as soon as DD1 stops coughing.

Night All x

...have finally finished housework and kids school stuff - forms, party invites, uniforms, on and on...and shattered.

But I have had horrible news today. One of my friends has had a Stroke - age 40. She is okay, no affected speech etc but the shock of it, I get goosebumps every time I think about it. I'm going to GP Thursday regarding my horrible BP (150/100) and if it's still up he wants me on meds. He is also going to urine check/blood test and maybe scan of kidneys. I so didn't want any meds but after what has happened to my friend I'll do anything to keep it under control. May mention this dodgy looking freckle type thing I've got on my arm too

Also, confirmed case of Swine flu at my DS's school - just what we need! Seems they're not closing the school anymore though?

Boff - hope DD is feeling better soon. Kidney infections can be really miserable.

Well I best drop into bed. Night all!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 08/07/2009 08:42

surprise - sorry about your friend. a girl i knew from baby group last time around had a stroke. she was 22. but she's come back from it and you'd never know it happened.

yes - get yourself checked out.

well girlies...we've had a death in the family. our beloved dishwasher passed on yesterday. it was just a little slimline one but it really did make my life better.
we are currently researching new ones.
so for those of you keeping track...since january that's been my washing machine, tumble dryer and now my dishwasher all have had to be replaced.
I always wonder - is there any point is repairing an appliance that only cost £200 in the first place?

anyway, i'm off to get ready. I have an appointment to get bloods taken this morning. then my friend is coming over for lunch (and bringing it with her!!)

PuzzleRocks · 08/07/2009 08:57

Good morning

BB chose the perfect time to go on holiday, the weather is rotten.

Bleu - How is Meg today?

Boff - My regards to DD, I hope she is better soon, poor girl.

Surprise - 40 is really frightening. I do think it's a good idea to keep your BP in check. Why don't you want to go on the meds, what are the contraindications?

Purple - Sounds like you've got gremlins.

OP posts:
Schulte · 08/07/2009 09:11

Hang on... didn't Boff's household appliances all fail at the same time as well? Purple, I think she's sent her gremlins to your house!

{shock] about stroke - glad she's okay but scary!

Yes how is Meg?

Oh no, Swine flu... hope your DS doesn't get it. Although they do say it's probably better to get it now than in winter when the virus has mutated to something nastier.

Well H has found her thumb - sort of, she keeps losing it of course - but it looks very cute when she sucks on it.

mathshoneybunny27 · 08/07/2009 09:14

morning all, we have teeething here !

bfing old hands, how do you deal with the biting issues?

Bicnod · 08/07/2009 09:27

Eeek - I really don't like all this talk of teething... mathshoney have you been bitten?

Bleu - hope Meg is better today? Did you call NHS direct in the end?

suprise - really sorry to hear about your friend

boff - hope your daughter feels better soon... i was very shocked by the non-eating-of-dairy-milk yesterday. i've never had a kidney infection but my mum did and she was laid up for a while and totally wiped out, but when she started feeling better it was quite quick... (not sure that made sense, but hopefully you know what i mean).

Well, we tried the dreamfeed last night at 10pm and he woke up at 2am and 4.30am - so not too bad. except after the 4.30am feed i couldn't get back to sleep because he was grunting and straining so loudly around his crib... AAAARGH!! but at least i got 3 hours sleep in a row from 11pm-2am and then another hour or so between 3.15am and 4.30am. Hmmmmmm... i think i'm becoming a bit obsessed with sleep.

Does anyone else's baby grunt and strain around in their sleep?

I'm soooooooooo looking forward to the night when oscar pushes the boundaries to 5 or even 6 hours of unbroken sleep surely it can't be too far away...

Schulte · 08/07/2009 09:50

Bicnod - yay for better night. Yes H does a lot of grunting and shuffling in the early morning, which is why I always escape to the sofabed in the living room after her night feed. Can you go sleep somewhere else? It made all the difference to me.

Maths - no idea sorry.
