Welcome to your spanking new thread girls.

Roll call please!

Lizz - you sure he hasn't whacked his head at nursery?? Be concerned about concussion...! Not trying to scaremonger but sounds very much like it combined with what he is saying.

Reggiee · 22/07/2009 20:12

Lizz so pleased yesterday went well. How is DJ today?

Quiet here (again). DH at the pub so I've just had a notalgic look back at the early Jan07 threads. Ahh, we could talk in those days

Pretty crapola day here today. B screamed for a couple of hours, didn't eat for 6 hours, and was generally under the weather. I have a sore throat which is becoming more annoying.

eandh · 23/07/2009 06:58

wilkie - tbh I think its a combination of being 2, L arriving, adjusting and he may have generally just been in a foul mood that day how are things now?

Lizz - glad appt went well and how was DJ that night? Hope all ok today

Rgee - I often look back at the Jan 07 threads seems an enternity ago now Sorry to hear Ben wasnt himself and hope your throat gets better (how did his appt go about stomach?)

Not been up to much working few extra days to cover the ime I need off in September and Ellie had her friend round Tuesday (they are in same class at school) her and her Mum came at 10 for a cuppa and before we knew it it was 3pm I did set up baking in the dining room so the 3 (inclusing Hattie) made choc chip cookies and surprisingly minimal mess Her friend likes coming here as shes an only child and seems to love playing with Hattie as well as Ellie so keeps everyone happy. Got most of my Next sale stuff delivered had ordered 3 dresses for Ellies 5th birthday party but I wasnt keen on any of them so gave up and took them back yesterday but popped in monsoon and picked up 2 gorgeous dresses in the sale beautiful teal green and a pink sparkly dress she loves both of them but one needs to go back so she needs to make a decision by weekend.

Am very excited about Sunday as its out trip to Legoland with the Laughalot family, Ellie can't wait to meet Aidan and Hattie will not mind what we do as long as I provide food/snacks at regular intervals

Lizzzombie · 23/07/2009 17:08

DJ is back to "normal" now.
In fact (touching wood whilst typing this) but I think possibly, we may have calmed down a bit on the terrible two-ness of him. He's been adorable over the last couple of days!

Eah - I spent about £11 in M&S and brought: Sheepskin (ugg style) boots = 98p, Two pack of pj's = £5, Mr Bump T-shirt = £5 & some socks for me £1.50. Not a huge amount of bargains to be had, but seeing as its basically a 5 minute walk from my house I can keep a look out for when their proper clearance kicks in...see if I can better my £1.94 jeans (for myself) which I got last time! love it!

OP posts:
eandh · 23/07/2009 18:02

Good stuff there Lizz - I got

3 pack long sleeved tshirts for Ellie £1
3 pack long sleeved tops for Ellie's mate £1
Little Miss chatterbox long sleeved top for Hattie £1
As above but for laughalots dd £1
2 other long sleeved white broidered anglaise (or howver you spell it) one for each of them £1 each
New dressing gowns for both of them £2.50 for H and £3 for Ellie
Bob builder activity book 25p
Pack of hairbands 50p!!

Oh and for all of you who were helping me decide about Ellies party dress on fb I took all 3 back and opted for one form monsoon - love it very girly and pretty and it looks like a 5 year olds dress not a adult dress shrunk down (pics on fb on my random mobile pics)

Had a lovely lunch at sil and all teh children played nicely together got to have a feet dip in the hot tub and Hattie bounced on there huge trampoline for about 2 hours so conked out at 5.30 through sheer tiredness

eandh · 23/07/2009 18:26

oh and had a interesting argument conversation with a stupid bint in M&S here

Lizzzombie · 24/07/2009 07:08

EAH - ok, you win with the bargains, we had nothing like that. Most of the clothes were £5 ish.
Meant to ask, is it your hot tub?

OP posts:
eandh · 24/07/2009 07:09

no it is bil & sil hot tub (they have just moved and have a huge garden now and they bought it with th emoney dh nan left us!)

vinorouge · 25/07/2009 20:34

Hello all

bargain hunters lizz and e&h well done! I've not had time to go hunting but never mind.

e&h and lal - hope you enjoy trip to legoland and that the kids (and dhs) get on together.

wilkie - how was J when he took his apology card to nursery? I know you know but its prob just a phase he is going through, as frustrating as it is. E's current phases are shyness (at times) and being totally annoying (most of the time). DH is really struggling to keep his temper with her at the moment. TOday he was fed up of her before he's even got up cos he could hear her, me and S in the spare bed. 'Boisterous' doesn't quite do E justice, but then that doesn't tally with her being shy......

Rgee - how was your m&s meal for two this week? I must get round to buying one one of these days

I thought S had swine flu this week but it turned out tobe a non specific virus according to the doctor. On weds night she came out in random blotchy patches on her calves, thighs and bum cheeks, red skin was red hot with white raised bumos and rest of skin normal. It had gone by time we took her to docs the next day. TYpically it was the one week I was working on Thurs and had arranged for them to go to nursery an extra day. DH ended up taking thurs off and we both did a half day on fri. Logistics of being a parent!

Today I worked this morning then went for a lush afternoon tea with 3 friends. For 10 quid I got 2 rounds of sandwiches, 1 huge scone, jam and clotted cream, a hunk of fruit cake and cheese and as much tea as I wanted. We sat outside enjoying the sunshine and catching up cos its friends from uni who I don;t see very often. I was stuffed when I got home and haven't eaten since. Been enjoying a few hours on my own cos DH took the girls to see his parents who are camping the yorkshire dales. They will be back soon. Boringly I have been doing some work since I got home. Its been productive though so has been time well spent.

Tomorrow I have a friend coming for lunch and then another friend and baby visiting in the afternoon. Got to food shop before all that so another busy day for vino.

Lizzzombie · 26/07/2009 08:29

Wow, you sound like a busy lady Vino!
Afternoon tea is a good idea too. Unfortunately ,ost of my mates are piss heads enjoy their alchol too much. So I am jealous of you. Not sure about fruit cake & cheese though, must be a Yorkshire thing!

Mega cheap stair gates at work at the moment in case anyone needs one. I got a travel one for about £16 reduced from £24. Dylan will stay in his own room...

Am working today. Fun.
Hope everyone has fun x

Reggiee · 26/07/2009 09:05

Vino how did you know I would be having an M&S meal deal for 2? You are right of course - I am entirely predictable. Although, we had one on Thursday then one last night too!! I loooove afternoon tea

I['ve just sneaked on here as it's going to be a hectic day. DH just out taking my cake to a nearby village show. I've entered the fruit cake competition and he's entered parkin - along with the in-laws - pmsl. Although dh completed the entry forms and entered me and his dm for the 'decorating a childrens birthday cake competition' instead. I was well hacked off with him but he managed to resolve the issue last night.
Debating whether to enter P in the fancy dress comp, as all I'll do is bung her in her fairy outfit (ie no effort at all). However she will get a rosette so I think she might like it. Is forecast to be wet though.

Eah enjoyed your mad conversation wit hM&S woman btw. Some people are bonkers!

PCF how have the summe hols started? Hope life with three isn't too bad. I've had a pretty bad wek this week with B. Was sure at 13 weeks they're supposed to get better .
Still bad tummy issues (Docs said it deffo wasn't an intolerance, just colic, so to continue as normal). Am thinking of changing formulas again to see if it the Aptimel brand giving him grief....He also had his jabs this week and the following day was just awful.

Right must dash.

vinorouge · 26/07/2009 21:07

Lizz I ate my cheese and cake separately. It is a Yorkshire thing but I can't bring msyelf to sample it - it seems wrong to me. Cake goes with cream not cheese!

Rgee - sorry to hear you've had a bad week with B. What formula might you change to?

Reggiee · 27/07/2009 08:46

Dun't really know Vino. I really am clutching at straws - I don't know whether to change to another 'comfort' brand or dive straight in with an ordinary one. We used SMA with P, and she had her ups and downs but in general was fine with it. I only chose Aptimel this time as I'd heard it was the most gentle on young tummies .

Anyone recommend a particular brand of formula??

Yesterday was good fun, although I'm not sure the judge of the fruit cakes was correct . None of us were placed in either competition, but my fruit cake definitely looked the best, and tastes nice. THink it might have been a bit on the boozy side for the village judge . P however did come first in the fancy dress competition (do I need to mention she was the only one who entered in the 'fancy dress not on a horse' category..)

Hey up - the screaming has started. BEtter go.

laughalot · 27/07/2009 12:48

Hello !!!!!!

Rgee well done to p but sorry about the cake .

We used cow and gate with aidan which I found good but with lauren it was aptimal as she dident suit the cow and gate not much help im sorry.

Vino sounds like you had a lovely day eating all that scrummy food.

Lizz very impressed at the bargain stairgate and d now being locked away in his room lol.

Had a fab day yesterday at legoland eah little girls are adorable im sure she wont think that of lauren as 2 min after trying to get on a ride l was on the floor having a paddy as she dident want to go on the ride .

Ellie is so cute and at one point she and aidan were holding hands aawww. We did have a nightmare moment where ellie went missing we were all standing watching a ride and the next minute she was gone it was horrible wayne went one way chris went another and michelle stood screaming eeelllllliiiieeeee very loudly. Luckily a lady stopped as she was crying and she had hold of her.

It was a fab day chris and wayne got on really well as did the kids. It was great to see eah again just wished we lived closer .

Lizzzombie · 27/07/2009 17:25

Anyone care to comment? I'm flummoxed!

Rgee - Outrageous that the judges did not deem your creation worthy enough...but I guess it meant you got to take it home with less people tasting it!
We used Aptimil here, as SMA Gold gave DJ weird poo.
Vino - I've never heard of fruit cake and cheese. Does it have to be a special kind of cheese? I'm liking this idea though, as I'm a cheese fiend!
EAh & LAL - Glad you had a good time at LAL having a paddy though!!

Quick question: Anyone have a Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottle lid?? I lost one at the Trafford Centre today and I don't want to have to buy another pack of them for one bottle lid!!

Reggiee · 27/07/2009 21:14

Wilkie pretty sure I have an unused bottle and unused TT travel steriliser if you want them. Will bring them over if you remind me nearer the time.

Off to bed now.

Morning

PCF - hope Alex is on the mend now both of mine still have rotton coughs and noses but appear fine in themseleves and typical that they get them in the summer hols

Rgee - Poor Ben with his tummy glad Pippa did so well in her dressing up comp and obviously someone had bribed the judges re the cake competition

Vino - you sound busy as normal

Wilkie - did L's bits arrive as posted them last week (opnly about 6 weeks to late )

Lizz - good bargain on the stair gate, has it kept him in his room though ??

Not much going on here had a lovely weekend with the LAL clan, the dh's seem to get on well and Aidan and LAuren are adorable and Ellie keeps asking me why Aidan can't come round to play and have his tea here although we are palnning another weekend next to Thorpe park with kids plus LAL and I having a weekend away on our own and maybe a weekend with dh's but no kids (although dh has a stag weekend to go to plus we are going away for a week in august with eddas and a weekend break with them so seriously need to save the £'s!!)

Met up with lots of E's old prschool friends for a picnic in teh park yesterday and it was great the park is small and secure and we were only people there so we coul;d let the kids have loads of freedom to run off plus it wore Hattie out so much she went to bed at 5pm and just woke up

Lizzzombie · 29/07/2009 07:58

Morning!
Glad everyone is surviving the holidays ok so far!

I have my interview for that FT Admin job this morning at 11am. Not totally sure if I want it or not. FT just seems like alot of hours not to see Dylan. Ho hum, I'll start to worry about it if they offer it to me!

Going to Drusillas this afternoon for a party too, which should be fun, but its forecast to rain, rain, rain. So I am packing wet weather stuff along side swimming stuff & suncream! You never can be too prepared!

Hi Lizz. Hope this morning went well. Keep meaning to ask you about your wedding. Did you set a date?

Eah / Lal sounds like you had a fab time at Legoland.

PCF hope you had a nice day today with DH being around.

SHIMMER if you're lurking how are you at the minute?

I'm tired and got a minor headache so can't really be bothered to surf MN. Pleased to report so far so good for this week - is it really the 3 month rule kicking in. B's been lovely this week. DH out doing a run. Nowt on telly. Early night me thinks.

Wilkiepedia · 30/07/2009 15:32

Hello all

Reggiee - Thank for offer of bottle and travel steriliser thing. Sounds great and yes please. So please B is settling down a bit now. Bless his little tum L appears to have a bit of constipation - he is straining a lot but when he does go it is not hard or anything so not sure what that is about

PCF - as I am not going to see Reg for another two weeks would be you mind posting me the bottle lid? Massive help thank you so much!! Have you got my address? I think it is on that spreadsheet EAH did at Christmas?? Do you want me to paypay you some money for postage?? Glad you are surviving the hols so far

EAH/LAL - I would love to go to legoland but just a bit too far for us. Sounds like you had a fab time!

Lizz - how did interview go??????

Vino - will email you re date to see you

2Happy - where have you gone??

Shimmer - how is the pg progressing??

Who else have I forgotten????? Sorreeeee if I have...

Well, L is doing well. 11lb 6oz today at 6.5 weeks - little porker. On 75th centile. He is going 8pm-2pm with no food, any suggestions on how to shift this to 10pm-4pm?????? J seems to have settled down a little - we have been very strict and have 'one chance' rule so plenty of dinners and teas been chucked in bin. He has also gone to bed with no story and hot choc on many a night and finally seems to be getting the message!!!!!!

Am going to mum and dads Sat-Weds this week as nursery is closed for annual summer hols. Looking forward to seeing them although dreading doing all the night feeding myself Lucky DH. Men don't know how easy they have it but that is another story!

Was our 3 year wedding anniversary yesterday, we had a babysitter and went out for a meal. What a lot we have crammed into 3 years

eandh · 30/07/2009 15:41

Wilkie if he is doing 8pm to 2 pm I'd be concerned I assume you mean 8pm to 2am Maybe eek his 8pm feed out by 10mins every night so tonight 8.10 then tomorrow 8.20 etc till he is having the 8pm bottle a bit later and then in theory will wake later than 2am

HAd a lovely morning took my 2 and their cousins to cinema to see Ice Age 3 they loved it and there were only 4 families in there so Hattie decide to sit in the front row on her own surrounded by a bag of popcorn, haribo sweets and a bottle of lemonade she was in her elemnet had manic afternoon doing a big clean and sort out as only a month till Ellie's birthday and need to make some space for the toot presents she'll get
