MM- I think it's a good height too- if he was taller I'd get a crick in my neck when we kissed..hehehe.

Aubergenie- sending you virtual teething sympathies, it's so horrible as there is so little we can do. Having said that I have given a dose of calpol and so far all is quiet from the cot so hopefully it's soothed his pain. Think if he wakes lots tonight I'm just going to snuggle him up in bed with me, I never do that but as he's so rarely cuddly I don't want deny him it when he needs it!

I also asked the HV to measure Jack after I saw another baby getting measured. The height chart appeared from nowhere... I think they hide it as it would just make clinic run on longer

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/06/2009 22:40

argh - what have they done to mn - is coming up all peculiar on my phone.
Done first feed of the night. You would think that a strapping 8 month old could go more than 3hrs without a feed, but apparently not .
Let's see if I can top 5hrs sleep tonight. Night all.

Night CSWS, and D's not 8 months until tomorrow!

Aww, poor S. Teething is no fun! M has been teething a little but nothing major. You and S have my sympathies!

Rachie - M is very cuddly and I do feel very lucky to have so much snuggly time. When she's tired she tries to climb on my lap, I love it! DS hated cuddles when he was tiny, but is now such an affectionate little man.

Honeymoonmummy · 09/06/2009 23:10

Hey all. I've not read back yet (what's new??)

Just a quickie as I'm about to go to bed. Poppy had soya yoghurt with her fave, banana, in for lunch and LOVED it. And, more to the point, has barely been sick since! Yay! Looks like soya is back on the menu, for Poppy anyway. Acupuncturist still wants me to stay off it for me...we'll see

We've been to a freebie Jo Jingles session at the local childrens centre too, Pops really enjoyed it.

Having Poppy's photo taken underwater tomorrow for Puddle Ducks. She's been in such a cracking mood today, she's getting much better at being left alone during the day while I go and do things.

I hope everyone's well and will hopefully catch up properly tomorrow.

Night all! x

You've actually found a question that I don't know the answer to pistachio. How very dare you .

Dh let D fall off the bed again as he left him there whilst he went into the bathroom.

Yay for soya hmm!

pistachio i think it is when the top iof the head raises above the seat. ds was small for age and was in it for over a year bless him! he even gets int odd baby walker and all you can see is a pair of skinny legs!
dd is a monster though and eats continuously so no worries about a fussy eater there. whenever she sees food she puts on a grin like a cheshire cat!

hedgepig · 10/06/2009 10:17

morning we had a 2am and a 5am waking here too as well and O had done really well the night before. Ho hum it will get better (I keep telling myself) and by the time they are teenagers we will be screaming at them to get out of bed .

Aubergenie my HV will measure length if you ask them to when you take the LO to be weighed.

Bethoo congratulations

Marthasmama · 10/06/2009 10:21

Pistachio - I thought it was when the babies eyes were in line with the top of the seat..... I'll see if I can find anything on the interweb.

Argh! M has woken up from her nap. I'll have to look later....

KSal · 10/06/2009 10:46

Emma woke up at 3, 4 and 5 and each time it was becasue she had wedges herself against the bars of the cot.... would it be very wrong to strap her down??

KSal · 10/06/2009 10:47

argh... wedged

ronshar · 10/06/2009 12:24

Car seats are determined by WEIGHT ALONE.
Crap few nights here.
Off out to lunch back later

Hi all, just a quickie, how do you get ink off babies hands and feet??? I bought an ink pad in bright pink to do Poppy's hand and footprints for Fathers Day and it won't wash off properly!!!! It's gonna be a dead giveaway when DH gets home and does bathtime! He gonna think she's got slapped hands and feet never mind slapped cheek! It's supposedly washable, water based and fine for babies/ children Any ideas for sensitive skin? I've used vegetable soap and baby wipes and that's got a lot off.

Honeymoonmummy · 10/06/2009 12:49

Oh and I just got one of his fathers day pressies thro the post. So cute. He's a fan of Elvis and we were married by Elvis so quite apt for first fathers day pressie

Got my moonpig card too. Got one with Barack Obama on the front as he was elected on the day Pops was born.

Plus I got the two Daddy books some of you were on about.

loulou33 · 10/06/2009 12:58

Yes so DS1 has CP - great. Had to take him to Dr as the nursry need confirmation of it but the good news is that Joe does not have to stay off nursery unless he gets it. I was worried as there is a 21 day incubation period so i thought i might have had to keep him off for 3 weeks. Drs were fine about us bringing him in but I tried to keep him away from other people. Have had to phone loads of people who are either preggers or very elderly (we have seen loads of both in the last week or so - just typical) Fortunately so far, they had all have CP before so i'm not feeling too guilty yet...

I had to shove raisins in Joe whilst we were there as he was hungry (isn't he always) and Dr said 'we don't recommend giving raisins to such small children as they tend to choke'. I said 'oh Joe's fine with them even though he has no teeth'. Blow me, about a min later Joe starts choking, little bugger, and the Dr looks at me all smug whilst rushing to pat him on the back. It was not a proper choking just a little cough/gag fortunately. Joe has NEVER choked on a raisin before but he has to do it in front of the dr doesn'th er? I hate it when your kids show you up

CSWS - i tried to get calamine cream from chemist but she said that it is not recommended for CP as the dabbing of the lotion is less itchy and it stays on skin longer anyway it was only 90p and DS1 has not mentioned that they are itchy and i haven't asked him obviously...

HMM - glad poppy has been less sick lets hope its getting better at last..

Jenwa - did you say you wanted to swap your dd for ds1 - i'm happy to if you are and who offered the BOGOF deal? I'll take that too

BTW Joe is 9 months old today will have to start planning his birthday presents soon

star6 · 10/06/2009 13:01

raisins! Wow. Go Joe! Can you bring Joe down for a visit to teach Q how to eat? I was so proud of his half blueberry and small strawberry chunks

star6 · 10/06/2009 13:03

Jenwa, pistachio and csws - whoever was offering, I'll take your dd1s - they are precious - then we could have one boy and one girl and I wouldn't have to go through pregnancy or childbirth ever again! deal!

star6 · 10/06/2009 13:05

but I reserve the right to return the girls when they hit the pre-teen stage (11 or 12?).

I was thinking about just a book and a card for father's day, too. Was going to put Q's handprint on the card. Nothing big, though. Is father's day a big day for getting lots of presents here?

Just popping in - going to see the HV for another eczema cream!

Just had to comment....

Loulou - bloody typical re: the choking! He's a man, I'm sure he was trying to prove a point by showing his mummy up!

bethoo · 10/06/2009 13:44

i always find that when babies choke they have a natural reflex to just spontaneously throw up. is it just me?
