jenwa after threatening texts and voicemail messages from the ex i changed my mobile, i even had to call the police he was turning into psycho! my partner adores my kids especially as we started dating just before i had Maia so he feels like she is his anyway and Hayden is just so cute it is hard not to love him! to be honest i dont want me or the children to have anything to do with the exes family after what he and his mum put me through. i did receive a letter for access and other things like using my buggy etc but then i returned a letter stating how he was on cocaine (all true), not once did he contribute financially to both children, he stole, lied and turned out i was his mistress since he was in another relationship all this time! needless to say after exposing him for the manipulating bastard he is i have not had any comeback! he is only interested in the kids because his mum wants to see them and because he knows i am happy and moved on that he is trying to disrupt the children s lives just to spite me. some of you may think that what i have done is wrong but until you know the emotional and mental turmoil he and his partner put me through you cant understand. it is for the best for the children, only when they are old enough to understand what type of person he is will they see him for what he is and not be blindsighted because he is their biological father. it is only biology that makes him their dad, nothing else. Hayden calls my dp dad, daddy and da and dotes on him. why confuse him at this young age? when i was apparently with his real dad his dad was never interested anyway, he came over once a week for a meal and a ride! sorry to put it bluntly!

Pistachio - I do indeed feel your pain! I fantasise about having 8 hours sleep in one block! That would be heaven. I feel really run down and can be snappy as hell when we've had a bad night.

Bethoo - The woman I moaned spoke to about it said that they promote all their new products in the baby section so even if it was a new product for men it would be there. Seeing that the adverts have been there for about 7 weeks I don't think that's strictly true.

My vacuum cleaner is broken beyond repair. Fabulous! Another expense, just what we need. I am really p*ed off about it as my dad broke it. He was supposed to be helping us to do the bathroom as a Christmas present. So far he has left it uninhabitable and cost us the price of a new vacuum. The bathroom is going to cost us £1,700 to do and that is on top of the cost of the fittings. My parents spent months and months doing my brother's house for with him.

Marthasmama · 09/06/2009 19:47

Where is everybody?! It's been nearly 5 hours!

oh crap - ds1 has chicken pox i think. The slapped cheek tunred out to be the MMR booster reaction - phew... but tonight in the bath i noticed 3 blisters on his tummy. By the end of bathtime, he was covered so i'm assuming its CP. He's not bothered at all but i'm guessing Joe will get it as they shared a bath....i'm peed off as i am back at work on Monday and will now have to call in sick (my manager will love me) and no nursery of either of them now....anyone know if its notifiable btw??? I will let nursery know but i guess he probably got it from there.

MM - sorry about the hoover/bathroom/diy disaster dad situation - what are you planning on doing (not about the hoover obviously but about the bathroom) - not having a bathroom is the worst after not having a kitchen. We need a new kitchen but i keep putting it off as i can't face the pain...chin up sweetie and you can borrow my hoover as i barely use it . Don't ask for Star's as she uses hers all the time and won't let it out of her sight i bet!!!

Marthasmama · 09/06/2009 20:10

Loulou - I don't think chicken pox is notifiable. I'm sure when ds had it there was no song and dance but there was when he had measles..... Just checked here and no it's not. Thank you for the sympathy ladies. Everything is still plumbed in so we can use the bathroom but we have no walls on two sides of the room. It was all old lathe and plaster so it all fell off when the tiles came down. We also have no flooring so when you get out of the bath you just get dirty again. It's so depressing! We're going to have to get someone in to dry-line and fit everything. I am going to order a new vacuum because Dad will not accept that he broke it.

Myjob - Yes being a pickle at 3.5 is normal, as is being a pickle at 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5..........

Pepper - DH is the king of not following through with threats which is why ds pushes him. I always follow through, which is a bugger when I've been unreasonable. If necessary, I'd confiscate the scooters rather than throw them away. Let them think they've been chucked out. Then if they're good in a couple of weeks, let them have them back. I think that still sends a clear message.

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/06/2009 20:10

Ooh - MM's turned into a threadkiller .

CP not notifiable loulou. You want lots of bicarb in the bath, and piriton syrup (though if Joe gets it he's too young for that).

Pistachio - totally know what you mean re being run down. I just can't shift this sinus head, and it's definitely worse when I'm tired, so I keep ending up taking paracetamol or nurofen mid-afternoon.

OP posts:
Marthasmama · 09/06/2009 20:13

CSWS - I have always been a pretty amazing thread killer. But to kill an unkillable thread, that would be impressive!

loulou33 · 09/06/2009 20:29

thanks for that - i have checked hpa and he has to stay off nursery for 5 days. Thanks for advice, i have piriton in the cupboard and some calamine lotion (3 years out of date ) best buy some more tomorrow i guess..

MM your bathroom sounds dreamy....not - no walls or floor that's classy. My kitchen ceiling has huge hole in it from when DH fitted the new shower tray above and knocked a big piece of lathe/plaster/board type old stuff down. This was 3 years ago ffs - he's still not fixed it but since the kitchen looks like crap, its hardly worth it. Although every person who comes in the kitchen immediately looks at it - that's reminds me to nag him about it later

KSal · 09/06/2009 20:48

what is a notifiable disease? does that mean you would have to tell the doctor? I guess you would have seen the doctor anyway....

i didn't realise that chickenpox rash came on that quickly... i c;early have a lot to learn. I am noting CSWS's advise because there's been chickenpox at emma's nursery so she's at risk of getting it too.

Loulou - good luck with the itchy kiddies! nightmare timing

KSal · 09/06/2009 20:49

christ... dodgy typing and spelling skills again

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/06/2009 21:03

Don't get calamine lotion loulou - it's old hat these days . Eurax cream or calamine cream generally regarded as much better.

Yes KSal - notifiable means that you'd have to let your doctor know, so that records can be kept of incidence. You wouldn't need to see your doctor at all for CP (and if you do choose to then tell them before you go what it's for, as they may want to isolate you from other patients).

csws thank you, sorry had to make you write all that about self weaning but now I understand

Wow star to you and your language and travels and snowboarding! I have snowboarded and nearly damaged something internally! Would give it ago again though one day!

*bethoo( and at your ex partners and his behaviour, how awful and sooo sorry I did not mean to pry I just remember him being a tosser and his mum sticking her head in and sticking up for him. I cant believe he had someone else all taht time although it makes sense why he always came to you and why he never contributed to food and things for you and Hayden. What a horrible horrible man and I hope he gets what he deserves. I dont think you have done anything wrong at all, you are lucky your children are young and are now being raised by a nicer 'daddy' I dont think anyone would think what you have done is wrong at all only your ex! Knob!!! So cute Hayden calling you DP as Daddy, He has obviously been more of one to him! I hope you dont get any more grief from the ex. You seem to be soooo much more happier now

DD1 left her fav soft piggy toy at the clinic today when DD2 got weighed so I have to go and hope its there tomorrow to get it as she was soooooooooooooooooo upset! Phoebe is 17 lbs 10 so all ok and 73cm long so will be a tall one!

Marthasmama · 09/06/2009 21:22

Bloody hell Jenwa, she is going to be tall! M is 72cm, 8 months today and she is on the 95th percentile! But then you're not exactly a short arse are you? DH and I are both fairly short. My MIL has already started making hilarious jokes about the milkman.

jenwa · 09/06/2009 21:40

Sorry just looked again and she is 72cm! but still tall and inbetween 91st and 98sth so prob same as M then. Yeh I am 5 10 and Dh about 6 ft and my parents tall too. Wow to M being a tall one too, Maybe it was the milk man seeing she is a milk monster

Marthasmama · 09/06/2009 21:44

Jenwa - We have no milk man.....

jenwa · 09/06/2009 21:47

Ahhh, well, she is def yours as she looks like you but I am not convinced about her Daddy haha!

Wow, 10cm difference, ahhh bless her but she is doing well. P will be tall as we are all tall.

aubergenie · 09/06/2009 22:02

Star - I bet Hiroshima is a nice place to live - I liked it a lot when I visited. I was actually in Kitakyushu city which is in Fukuoka Prefecture. I really enjoyed it there, and being in a totally Japanese work environment was very good for my language skills. I know what you mean about Tokyo though - I went to language school there for a couple of months. It is a crazy, crazy place!

Gah for itchy chicken pox loulou. Ksal I hope your dd doesn 't pick it up from nursery.

MM- Your bathroom sounds divine. There's nothing worse than a horrible bathroom floor is there. (Well, clearly there is but you know what I mean) You just never quite feel like you're clean. We had an awful one until recently, so I can sympathise.

Do you all have your babies' length measured when you see the HV or have you just done it yourselves? They've never measured S, only weighed him. Is that normal?

RachieW · 09/06/2009 22:03

Hiya- think ds is teething again, he's been in bed an hour but keeps waking and crying. He's really snuffly and needs lots of cuddles which is unlike him. Why can't the teeth just come all in one week and be done with

Jenwa & MM- J was 68cm when he was last measured which was at about 6 months. I have no idea why he is so long, both dh and I are quite short, well I'm 5"2 and dh would say 5"7 but I disagree When the HV first visited and plotted him on the centile she said he would be over 6 foot. He might take after my brother who is very tall. We don't have a milkman either....

Bethoo- Good news about the scan

Pistachio- I despair most days of ds and his weaning, it is going so slowly. The only thing he has eaten with relish is tuna mixed with tomato puree but he can't have that every day. I'm hanging onto the milk feeds for dear life!

Marthasmama · 09/06/2009 22:16

Aubergenie - M was measured at the last weighing because the HV commented on how long her legs are. But it isn't normally done, unless you ask of course! I think she might be even taller than that as she refused to stretch her legs out and had an Itti Bitti on, which would have obviously arched her back a little.

Rachie - Dh and I are each an inch taller than you and your DH! I think it's a good height difference. DS is pretty small and will probably end up around DH's height and it would appear that M is going to be about an inch taller. Poor ds.

I am moaning about my bathroom but having no walls might be better than what was on the walls previously! It was hideous! Obviously not my taste. It even had pink carpet - eeeewwwww!

aubergenie · 09/06/2009 22:17

Ugh Rachie - We've got the same thing here. Ds was really upset in the creche this morning, which is totally unlike him. I couldn't finish my yoga class because he wouldn't be left. He's really dribbly and has been very clingy all day. Horrible isn't it.

Oh, and Pistachio - I'm still feeding ds several times a night too, so you're definitely not alone there.
