I hate my dh. Would anyone like him?

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 08/06/2009 08:10

and in case anyone wonders why, when I asked him to take ds down whilst I stay in bed, he told me that I was pathetic, and then stormed off shouting that it was me who wanted a second child. He then went down and told dd that I didn't like her any more, and she was screaming and sobbing because of it. Am now too angry to sleep.

csws !!! how awful! Tell him he is the pathetic one bu just doing what he did and by saying what he has said especially to dd1. Oh and did he not help in the process of making your DS .
I suggest you take the day off and leave him with the kids all day and all night

star6 · 08/06/2009 08:57

csws.
Don't know what to say... except, Men are stupid.

star6 · 08/06/2009 09:07

Q has been flailing so much in his sleep. Last night I took him out of the cot because he was jerking his body around so much when he would wake that he was repeatedly hitting his head on the cot - HARD! I put him in bed with me, but he just did the same - luckily into pillows instead and kicked me every few minutes. I thought he was having a seizure at first... really weird. And he'd wake SCREAMING. Not like him, arching his back and screaming, throwing his head back. He's fine this morning. Oh, and at one point, he had fallen back to sleep and he giggled in his sleep! strange night...

Marthasmama · 08/06/2009 10:02

CSWS - Send that nasty man round here to me and I will sort him out for you. How dare he emotionally abuse your daughter like that! You have the patience of a saint to have not walloped him with something by now. Jenwa is right, he helped in creating D, it would have been a little difficult if he hadn't been a willing participant. Pistachio is right too. You are doing a fabulous job, I would have crumpled into a heap on the floor by now with what you're dealing with. That man needs a slap. Pistachio, Myjob and I should lend you are DHs as they are fabulous.

Pistachio - I doubt it's your parenting, some little girls are little madams. I was one and I am certain M will be too. It's a girl thing I'm sure. My friend has three daughters, all raised the same way, the eldest is a tomboy, the middle one is a little madam and the youngest is a real sweetie. It's just different personalities. I am actually looking forward to the little madamness, in a masochistic way.

Star - Could Q have had a tummy ache? Or he could have been dreaming. Some babies have to rock themselves to get to sleep. DS used to shake his head when trying to get back to sleep, some babies even bash their heads against the cot bars to get to sleep. They are strange little creatures.

star6 · 08/06/2009 10:41

oh I hope he didn't have a bad dream! What could he have dreamt about? He has only seen so much in his little life... now. Tummy ache possible, too. I wonder!
csws has dh apologized?

jenwa · 08/06/2009 10:46

ahh bugger, lost what I was writing!!!!

Star, I think it was a tummy ache as they do tend to do that arching thing, he prob had a little giggle (true boy style) after releasing some wind

pistchio You are not a bad mummy at all, like MM said, they have different personalities. DD2 is very chilled at present, DD1 is tutting and huffing true Kevin and Perry style and she is only 3 1/2!

jenwa · 08/06/2009 10:48

Was just browsing throught the threads and saw this and it made me laugh how funny

jenwa · 08/06/2009 10:49

well not actually funny but good on her , I need to go shopping todaya nd a wholeother stupid chores

Marthasmama · 08/06/2009 10:57

Star - Apparently they dream about animals first. Don't tell me how anyone ever managed to fathom that, but that's what I have read. Newborns have periods of REM sleep and therefore it is believed that even newborns dream. There is even a theory that cot death is related to babies dreaming about the womb and forgetting to breathe. Again, how could anyone possibly know that? It is more likely to be tummy ache/wind.

star6 · 08/06/2009 11:23

Well he does love the fish and dogs at my friend's house...
poor guy if it was a tummy ache. The only thing that would soothe him is I would cradle him in my arms, put binkie (dummy) in and rock him back and forth (He usually does NOT like this position at all unless feeding). Strange.

Marthasmama · 08/06/2009 11:28

Awww maybe he just wanted a cuddle with his lovely mummy.

M has started saying 'Daddy' all the time. I think she is saying it with purpose too rather than just random babbling as she stops when DH appears.

star6 · 08/06/2009 11:31

jenwa at thread... now THAT is something that I would do. A few months ago in a grocery store, I had to pick up just a few things (I shop mostly online) and when I got to the checkout, it was noticed that one of my yogurts was leaking. She said, "you can go get another one if you want unless you don't mind this one" (grocery store was huge!) it was leaking quite a bit. I had Q and his bag with me and was looking at all of the spare employees walking by, thinking, why couldn't one of them do it... so I said, can someone else help me out? And she said, "if you want one, go ahead and get it". So I said, "forget it. I don't want any of it". It was only like 10 things, but I was so . Then I thought maybe I was expecting too much. Looking back, I guess I should have gotten it myself. Maybe I was being too "American" and expecting customer service.

jenwa · 08/06/2009 11:41

star thats bed, they should go and get it for you, there products that are broken and there are plenty of staff who should be available for assisting people! I bet if it had no price label etc they would have got it sorted. good on you I have never had that and normally if something has leaked or broken I cant be arsed to wait for someone to change it unless it is really important but I certainly would not expect them to tell me to get it myself, Actually you should have gone and picked up afew more things just to annoy her haha!!
star the rocking would prob help if it was wind related as may have eased it out of it.

mm yes I always wonder how people know what babies dream and what colours they see first etc! Unless it is someone with a very good memory and remembers being a baby
Sweet M has started saying Daddy. P still squeeks and squeels!

Ekka · 08/06/2009 11:55

Star - you weren't being unreasonable, in Morrisons I had a bag of sugar that was leaking and they sent another employee to get it, didn't expect me to go back myself.

CSWS - I am mad at your dh too.... Saying things to you is really stupid & childish, but what he said to your dd is awful. She's about 3 right? He should never have brought her into this and what he said is totally out of order. I am sure it did upset her, an adult would know to ignore him as he was in a temper, but a child doesn't know that. If my dh said something like that I would be furious. Am very and for you.

Jenwa - love that thread!

We had dd's 2nd birthday party here yesterday and we actually managed to have a bbq and spent the afternoon in the garden. She had a lovely time and adored the little red kitchen we got her. Am knackered today, will try and post some pics on fb this evening . Now to start the packing for our trip to Canada

star6 · 08/06/2009 12:24

Wow to M saying daddy! We say "mommy" "daddy" "quinlan" all the time and Q just looks at us and smiles or giggles.

bethoo · 08/06/2009 12:35

i have missed alot! i was off most of the week having blood tests then i had a scan on friday to see why bleeding and if still preggers. well i am now 9 weeks and 4 days so a bit more optimistic about the whole thing now. dp is over the moon adn alread ytelling everyone!

i am impressed how well all the babies are eating, i jsut recently got Maia to eat a rusk which is her first finger food, she looked horrified when i tried her with a banana!! also sahe tried some blueberries, what a face but she still ate them!

Myjob- you are the tiniest person so i doubt you are not in shape. you are probably a littel paraniod after having your second baby. i am happy with me now but am already getting paraniod about how i will look after a third!!!

star6 · 08/06/2009 12:55

congrats, bethoo
ohhh good idea - I'm going to give Q some banana chunks tonight! What about orange pieces (sans skin of course!). Or maybe I'll try a broccoli stem - heart beating fast!

Star - That is terrible service, I don't think it is typical. I often offer to get replacements (I hate waiting, really hate it) and the staff are usually surprised by this.

Bethoo - Phew and congratulations. It must be nice to know that everything is ok and how sweet that DP is so excited.

Myjob - Um, no I'm not but thank you, mad woman! Some women get skinny breastfeeding others don't lose the weight until they stop. I am in the latter group, just be patient. Is DS tired? Night terrors and nightmares can leave them feeling very tired in the morning. DS always gets like that when he's tired. We are normally amazed by the difference in him when he has a couple of early nights.

Ekka - Looking forward to some lovely pictures. I love a good birthday party! I am looking forward to M's 1st birthday and making some yummy baby cakes for her & her little chums! I am not however looking forward to DS's birthday as he will be 6 and we have no idea what to do! We refuse to do the normal soft play party as all his mates have them so all the parties are the same.

CSWS - I hope you're ok and are not digging a huge hole in the garden then building a patio over it...

I discovered Tkmaxx today.... The had real Grobags for £13! It was a bit jumble sale but you can't argue with that! M was in good wide-eyed form today and many ladies stopped to say how beautiful she is. Always nice to hear [proud]. I went into Boots and took some photos of the positioning of the diet tablet adverts. I also spoke to one of the staff about why they are advertising diet pills in the baby section. They've got them by the breast pumps ffs! The women told them it was a head office directive. I will be complaining with photographic evidence!!!

loulou33 · 08/06/2009 18:32

myjob - i'll swap you for one 3.5yo who is just the same but he's an angel for everyone else...isn't it always the way?

Ds1 has a rash which i think is either a reaction to the mmr booster he had a while ago or slapped cheek as a friends daughter had it and then came to visit us (cheers then!)

i lost all the babyweight soon after Joe was born but sadly have piled it back on again. I now look about 5 months pregnant if i forget to hold my tummy in...i am due back a to work next week so i need to be able to hold it in for about 7 hours a day, no chance!! I could do some sit ups i guess but i can't be arsed tbh...oh well maybe i will have to buy a nice granny girdle instead!

Marthasmama · 08/06/2009 18:56

loulou - Spanx. They are amazing! They're bloody pricey but they really hold your gut in. I looked like a normal person (rather than a weeble) when I put mine on! However, holding your stomach muscles in all day actually trains your muscles to stay that way so helping you get a flat stomach eventually. It's also good for your posture which as a nurse is probably something that suffers.

My HV was trying to encourage me to do children's nursing and become a HV rather than Midwifery. Now, do you think I could handle looking after sick or dying children/babies...? No, I don't think so either. On of my best friend's girlfriend is a children's nurse so I'll ask her. She's one tough cookie though.
