better not be too long or I'll be very cross - although I shouldn't really as she's done 4 wees and a poo in the potty today without any badgering from us

dizzydixies · 06/06/2009 21:52

wonder how TS is coping with her do?

lets hope someone is sitting on the quilt under the tree!

Miamla · 06/06/2009 21:59

that's great news about her potty! well done DD2!

well i know one thing for sure...if i were closer than a million miles away right now, I'd be on the quilt

ooh DS calling....

Miamla · 06/06/2009 21:59

night dizz if you go before i get back

dizzydixies · 06/06/2009 22:00

LOL Dizzy my friend phoned me last week to say her DD was crawling with the little buggers, and the only DC she had been in contact with since the last clean comb were mine . I had a very good rummage through us all with the nit comb but couldn't find any, thank god. I would have been absolutely mortified if my slatternly non-checking habits had been to blame . Am itching now though...

Another riveting night chez hotter. I told DH I was a bit sad about the lack of bedroom action so this evening he has... listened to cricket and is now watching Primeval Nice to know I've still got it

Hey Miamla well done on the freeview fixing

hotterpotter · 06/06/2009 22:18

Flip I am a slow poster. Hey Sazzles

What's the incubation on chickenpox? Are they contagious before the spots appear? So far we have avoided all childhood disease apart from cough/cold but think we're living on borrowed time.

hotterpotter · 06/06/2009 22:25

Also is that a grown-up thing where your cushions have to match (or even vaguely complement) your curtains? We are still living in vaguely studenty squalour and the lounge curtains are made from a duvet cover split in two . To be fair they do look quite good, if a little thin for winter. I looked at getting some made but it's a 9 foot wide bay and was just toooo expensive

Your 'new' room sounds lovely Sazzles

Sazz please let them have the pox NOW, as an adult suffered I cannot stress enough how much easier it was as a child - yes I've had it twice

and when/if it appears, liberal applications of Nelson's Tea Tree Antiseptic cream is the BEST thing in the world

hots you're not called hots for nothing - just jump his bones or get him drunk, works in this house

right my dad is setting up his bed so I'll take that as my que to go to mine!!! will let you know about the invasion in the morning

night all

hotterpotter · 06/06/2009 22:31

Night Dizzy, hope the nit comb is empty in the morning

Thanks for kind words re DH too. I know he would be up for it if I initiated, but am sulking because why does it always have to be me ? He'll be sorry when I lose 3 stone and bugger off with a younger man One of my friends did that last year, although she swapped her much younger DH for a slightly younger boyfriend, she's having a whale of a time

Do you think you will go for a smaller telly then? Most people at us because ours is only 24", but really, there's nothing on that's worth seeing any bigger!

Oh yes, flat screens are amazing in their, well, flatness . It's hard to believe how bulky older tellies were in comparison. You should be able to get a decent sized one for not too many pennies. Would you have it wall-mounted though? Not sure how I feel about that...

OK 'tis my turn to get up at the crack of dawn tomorrow so I had better go to bed. We are going to a party at a Wacky Warehouse at 10am so DH won't get much of a lie-in either, ha! Just hope there is plenty of cake

Night-night if there's anyone still out there

hotterpotter · 06/06/2009 23:20

x-post again, night Sazz

12:15pm the first guest arrived.
6pm the last guest departed.
all in all the party was a sucess.
the aunts didn't trust my menu and brought more food. too much really. i ran out of counter space. the aunts also disregarded my no card table request and set of a card table (with table cloth) in the middle of my living room for their meal. honestly we had plenty of seating elsewhere but whatever floats their boats. one of my cousins brought her granddaughter which is just one month older than my dd1 so they had a ball. reese slept through most of the party (with dh....he allowed her to fall asleep on our bed and "decided" it best NOT to move her... he napped beside her "keeping watch".)

sazzles if memory serves 10 days in the incubation period, kids can pass it before spots appear, and it's air born so sneezes and such help to spread it. i was 4 when i had it. my dcs won't have it as they've been given shots.

dizzy you have me iching too. i know it would be smart of me to look up the facts on the nit subject but...{{{puts head in sand}}}.

miamla thanks for thinking of me. and you'd have been a wonderful guest. btw I sat on the quilt both in the backyard and in the frontyard. AAHHHH it was nice.

hp {{{waves}}}

hey sazzles are you shooting for a big screen like the one at the beach?

Well done for surviving the party in one piece TS . Sounds like you will be eating leftovers for a few days.

We have had a minor miracle here, DS slept from 8.15pm until 6.50am I am calling that sleeping through, first time ever .Only taken him 9 months 29 days...Hope I don't have to wait another ten months till he does it again!

oopsacoconut · 07/06/2009 07:29

Morning all

I'm not sure what's up with DD she is vomiting after a one or two feeds a day. I have ttried changing milk, but it even happened after a BF this morning not sure if it's just because she is being greedy and then getting trapped wind there is nothing 'realy' wrong with her as she smiles as soon as she is sdone like nothing happened.

Sazzles- DH bought himself a new telly yesrterday as ours has a rubbish picture apparently he bought a 40inch Sony as they were on special rather then the 32 I requested, his theory was the 32 was only £40 cheaper than the 40 so it was better value. If it is chicken pox please can we come and visit so we can get it out ofthe way.

Dizzy thanks for the early morning itches, hope today is a peaceful one and the girls don't get you outcast from the community.

HP Enjoy the party but not the cake.

TS Please the party went well. Did you brother come in the end?

oopsacoconut · 07/06/2009 07:31

HP x-posted Well done minipotter! I can only wish and hope that the 4 am wake up soon dissapears.
