I thought I'd use this title as not all of our delicious babies are on the move yet, including mine

Poor Effy, i hope she gets better soon.

Wow Iltmimi 6 teeth, f only has 2 bless him, the top 2 are very nearly cut, but have been for a while

ninja · 01/06/2009 20:39

Anyone else's babies get excited by animals?

M flaps her hands so much when she sees the cat, but she was in heaven when I took her to the farm yesterday - I'll put a couple of photos on my profile of her and the goats!!

DebiTheScot · 01/06/2009 20:46

debs we got a new 1tog slumbersack off ebay for £12 including postage. from this seller

DebiTheScot · 01/06/2009 20:49

didn't mean to click post there.

I also bought a 1tog grobag from TXMax the other day from £12.

Tesco's had some for about £8 I think but can't remember if they were 1 or 1.5.

Also got a 0.5tog one off ebay but 2nd hand. They are really expensive- I guess because they're hard to find.

DS2 only got 2 teeth too, he's had them for nearly 2 months but no more look like coming.

ninja · 01/06/2009 20:53

no teeth here, DD1 had 6 by this stage!!

barnpot · 01/06/2009 21:34

hi all, els has 4 teeth and boy do I know about it, hes biting after feeding, and hes asking for boobie then biting again its just a phase ans he'll get over it.
well what a lovely day, been out to pugneys, which is just a big lake with a path round it, and tomorrow we're off to lotherton hall, if we can find it this time! last time it took us 2 hours to get there, but half hour to get back, so much for sat navs . oh and the health visitor is going to pop round tomorrow mornin, for the 7-9 month check. els is 9 months old tomorrow, where does the time go?
just lovong the weather, my feet have gone brown already, have factor 30 everywhere else, bt forgot about my feet

Hopefully · 02/06/2009 08:16

An all time crap start of 5:30am this morning. I have no idea how one makes babies sleep longer... Tried putting toys in the cot but he wants company!

Hopefully · 02/06/2009 11:23

Gaaah, have just spotted a loophole in my work's counter proposal for flexible working that would require to be in the office loads more! So more back-and-forthing.

digitalgirl · 02/06/2009 11:57

Hello all!! We're back from Cornwall and we had a lovely lovely time! So pleased we went away. The hotel was fab, everyone loved DS and the weather has been amazing!

DS is officially fully mobile. Since we got to the hotel he's finally clicked how to crawl. And he's been showing off his skills all round the house. Not sure how long our DVD player is going to last now that he can get to it in record time. We can now pack the walker away into the loft.

Sorry to hear about poorly babies and poorly mummies. DS's rash got a little worse when we got there, but a a quick trip to the local GP's put our minds at ease again. He's recovered (apart from a snotty nose) and is beginning to start eating again after nearly over a week of hardly any solids. I was starting to worry that all he'd ever eat was ice-cream. But STILL no teeth.

I haven't managed to get hold of any summer grobags. Since DS's high temp last weekend I've been afraid of putting him to bed in anything more than a vest in this heat. So he's been kicking off the sheet and then waking up cold. ILTMIMI that sheet sleeping bag looks brilliant, may have to invest in one of those.

hopefully I do hope that by the time you've worked out your back-to-work arrangements that you'll actually enjoy regaining that 'me' time, even if it is on a smelly train! You'll have to get yourself an iPhone so you can MN on the go. Also there is this dress from Hobbs (click on the pink Sleeveless Belted Adama) which I tried on the other day for the wedding as I could still BF in it without taking the whole dress off. Didn't suit my pear-shaped hips, but it was beautiful and it's now on sale!

becaroo · 02/06/2009 13:08

Hullo ladies

Any of your babies biting you? I think hopefully mentioned that T was, but brain mushed by no sleep and AB's so cant remember!

Toby bit me REALLY hard earlier on my shoulder - he has broken the skin and it bled.....I said "No" in a very firm voice "Thats naughty....Dont bite" and put him on the floor to check the damage.....then picked him up for a cuddle due to his sad face and he prompty tried to bite my other shoulder! DS1 never did this, so not sure how to discourage it...any tips?

I cut up a strawberry last night for him and he ate 2 bits without choking...he did try to stuff one in whole - which is when I came up with the idea of cutting them into little bits!! Anyway, progress is being made. However, he has gone down from 5 x 7oz ff per day to 3 x in the last month...I know I dont have to worry about his weight (he is now in 12-18 month clothes!) but does it seem a lot to cut down to so quickly?.....

I know what I was going to ask....anyone heard from eandz lately? Or has she posted and I missed it? Nie to hear from Foxy again

Off to do some cleaning - Toby up at PIL this afternoon as I am taking ds1 to a b day party at 4pm.....oh joy....

CarrieBo · 02/06/2009 13:46

eandz still updates fb but hasn't been on this thread for a long time. Think she's too busy jet setting! Hope she's doing ok though.

Ds still only has 1mm of one tooth! He is loving clapping at the moment, and has waved too and dh swears he signed 'thank you' at breakfast the other day, but I can't get him to do it!

hopefully I've got a fab dress from John Rocha at Debenhams, its bright red with flowers embroidered on, but it covers a multitude of occassions, and was very reasonably priced. I'm going to a posh brunch this sunday and will wear linen trousers with a nice top. Have you found anything yet?

lollyheart · 02/06/2009 14:50

Ive just put some more pics on my profile if anyone wants to nose

digitalgirl · 02/06/2009 14:52

v. cute lollyheart

We have got some lovely photos of DS from the weekend, may put a couple up later. He now smiles when you ask him to!

Pacita · 02/06/2009 15:11

Hello ladies, it's been ages since I posted. I've had the Greek mother in law over, and I've been working 2 days a week. I've had to dust off the old brain and shake off the cobwebs, but so far I'm enjoying it.

The nursery is working out too. Although I still think it's slightly chaotic, all the children look quite happy.

Diego is not crawling, nor pushing himself up, nor has any teeth. Is there anything I should do other than plonking him down on the floor to play?

Welcome back digi, glad you had a nice time.

Ninja I've just posted in your thread about the gauze gypsy mama.

splishsplosh · 02/06/2009 17:28

Becaroo - 12-18month clothes! dd2 is still in 3-6 month - she's quite round, thunder thighs ~& all, but little. No teeth,no rolling, - movement is just shooting backwards when lying on her back or flinging herself forwards with reckless abandon when sitting, then wailing at being trapped in some awkward position. It's quite nice that she's being a little baby for longer than epected in some ways as doubt very much if will ever have another.
Ninja - havealso posted on your wrap thread (thanks Pacita for bringing to my attention)- I wanted a cooler sling but can't afford new

DebiTheScot · 02/06/2009 19:24

Grrr ds2 has refused his bedtime feed for the 3rd night in a row. Wouldn't take it from bottle, tommee tippee cup or doidy cup and wouldnt drink water either. This morning his nappy wasn't as wet as usual so worried he's going to get dehydrated.
Should I stop giving him pudding at teatime or maybe cut out his afternoon bottle? Any thoughts?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 02/06/2009 19:30

Debi, what time is dinner time and what time does he have his afternoon bottle?

M is also in 12-18 months clothes, he's a giant compared to other babies the same age. My friends always laugh and say he is the same height as a toddler

OP posts:
DebiTheScot · 02/06/2009 19:42

Has bottle about 3.30- 3.45, no later than 4. Usually drinks all of 6oz bottle.

Tea meant to be 5.30 but prob has been more like 5.45 the past few days. And it takes about half an hour to eat. I can't make it any earlier though.
Then usually between 7.15 and 7.30 for his bedtime bottle.

Annoying having to throw out 24oz of formula over last 3 days- what a waste of money.

Meglet · 02/06/2009 20:16

eeek at all the babies biting chunks out of everyone! DD has bit me a couple of times so I've got my wits about me know.

hopefully, debi and lolly we went to JJ's again today and it was almost empty. DS was going down the slides with his little friends and i had fun climbing to the top level until I got spooked by being up so high and had to grit my teeth and not let DS know i was a big chicken and scared going across a rope bridge type thingy . DD was happy crawling around the baby area all on her own.

I think ex P is finally realising he has got to grow up and see the dc's, its only taken 5 months . He's seeing them 5 days a week, and we're sticking to the same times each week. He keeps sending me whiny e-mails saying he's sorry for being an arse and he hates not being with the dc's but I'm standing my ground. Its a shame he probably can't change as he had a rubbish family life when he was younger, they're still pretty crap now.

I have to confess to being a 'bad' mummy and giving ds blue things and dd pink things, i love colour coding their bowls + beakers. The highlight of the last week or so has been buying dd a pink toothbrush and pink beaker. She does wear ds's old blue sleepsuits at night though. Her daytime uniform is dungarees, as they stay in one place when shes crawling.

debi good luck at work tomorrow. Have you tried ds2 on watermelon chunks (without seeds) to get a little more fluid into him?

DebiTheScot · 02/06/2009 20:21

thanks meglet hopefully it'll be ok.
He does drink quite a lot of water during the day- about 2 full tommee tippee cups which seems like enough- so he should be ok I think generally, I just feel he should have a big drink before bedtime to keep him going.

I'm happy to do JJs again on a non-schl holiday day. Will reply to that facebook messgae once I've checked diary.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 02/06/2009 20:59

Debi - if tea time can't be changed, maybe look to change the afternoon bottle to earlier, or just less formula.

Or, if the morning nappy is still wet (albeit not as wet as previously) and he's not hungry at night, leave him be.

Like Meglet says, offer him water rich foods, cucumber, grapes, melon, pineapple etc.

Glad to hear your dp is getting things together Meglet. I really admire the way you cope.

I too get sucked into buying 'boy' colours

Have only just put DS to bed. Can't believe his bedtimes are getting later and later. Hoping a week of his usual bedtime routine will help get things back on track.

Pacita · 02/06/2009 23:08

Ugh, go on Ninja emerge back to the shop front - I'm getting all hot under the collar thinking about that Ergo!

ninja · 03/06/2009 09:52

pacia - i've posted now. if you and splish want to just try before you buy, that's fine too!

Pacita · 03/06/2009 10:25

Hi Ninja, I would love to try the Ergo.

How old is it? Is it in good nick?

Do you want to email me at elenacaton at me dot com?
