I thought I'd use this title as not all of our delicious babies are on the move yet, including mine

carriebo Have you tried the mooncup yet? You have to read this thread! mooncup thread. Yeurrrkkk!!

Went to Mothercare today. We bought a stair gate. DH sang "And she's buy-y-ing a stair gate to heaven."

ninja · 30/05/2009 21:40

Had a great day in the garden - M spent ages in the paddling pool having great fun

Hope the sun stays for a bit

Debs75 · 31/05/2009 14:32

we are loving the sun, dh is red cos he wont use sun cream. i just tan which makes friends so jealous. ds is a bit red but that is going now.
We went looking at ability bikes yesterday and ds loved wizzing around the park. Robyn has a cold and is struggling to feed, she is really sniffly and is breathing quite heavy, she is happy in herself so will see how she goes

Hopefully · 31/05/2009 19:54

T also enjoyed the paddling pool today at MIL's house.

Managed to remember sun cream, so am pleasantly sun-kissed instead of my recent weekend special of charred lobster.

Oh god, trying to find terribly stylish dress for chi chi garden party next weekend and am having no joy. Any super stylish tips?

hopefully that sounds like my worst nightmare. I would get it all wrong. How chi chi is it? Could you get away with linen trousers and a gorgeous top and a pasmina and pretty jewellery? Or does it have to be a dress? If a dress, is it like something you would wear to a wedding? My default is to go to M&S, find something that fits nicely, then dress it up with accessories. (Then again, you may decide from this pathetic response that you have asked the wrong person.. )

starlight the incompetence at your workplace sounds astonishing! How are you feeling about resigning though? Is it what you intended?

I agree, Foxy made a brief teasing appearance then went to ground.

Sunshinemummy · 01/06/2009 11:52

Hello all - just back from a lovely week in Wales. Had a lot of fun at the beach and DS had a top time with his cousins.

Effy is still body popping all over the place - she's got so fast now and won't stay still for a second. She's also started pulling her self up everywhere and even trying to stand unaided! I had to lower the cot yesterday to stop her trying to jump out.

She had a great time on holiday and absolutely loves the sea. She really enjoyed paddling and being pulled along in a little dinghy that we bought.

Her separation anxiety also seems to be getting a little worse, but again only with me. I'm now having problems putting her down to sleep as she cries and cries but when DP goes in will go off straight away. Not sure what to do about it...

becaroo · 01/06/2009 11:53

hopefully Depends on how much you want to spend, but I always find something I like at Coast.

Toby is now in full on separation anxiety mode...but only from me. Very odd. Cries if I leave the room, even when dh is with him

He is still not doing very well with the finger food - just bites great chunks off and chokes....any tips anyone????

We also spent the weekend outside and in the paddling pool...Tobys not sure, though. He is a bit under the weather I think...screamed for 3 hours from 2-5am on sunday morning Not sure what the problem was......

Oh well, at least the suns out

Starlight I am sure that is not true - in my head you are quite a yummy mummy!
Be a doula, you'd be brilliant!

Ponymum I think my problem is quite often that I think I am on the button and then look back at photos and realise I had it hideously wrong...

Becaroo had forgotten about coast, thanks! I always like their stuff.

Ponymum · 01/06/2009 13:04

starlight In that case, do you think that if you don't say anything they might just keep paying you?

lol starlight dh knows exactly what you mean about the wild animal, he was playing with ds2 in his bed this morn- basically tormenting him through the bars- and ds2 took a bite out of his finger and drew blood!

I go back to work on Wed and have no idea what I'll be doing! Have no timetable and no clue who or what I'll be teaching.
Ive worked out that if they are nice and let me finish halfway through the aft 1 or 2 days from Sept (I want to do 2.5 days so in theory this should work) then I can work on the days that ds1 is a pre-school and so will save some chldcare costs.

hopefully I don't even know what chichi means so i have no idea what you should wear.

CarrieBo · 01/06/2009 13:45

Thanks for the link ponymum! ROFL at lots of the comments! I have tried mine. It leaked. Never being one to give up first time, I will try again next month! Don't know if its incorrect usage, heavy period, or a combination of the two. And I really was trying to encourage you that househunting will keep your mind off job hunting, it was supposed to be a positive thing!!

We've managed 4 bbq's in the last week (only cooked one of them ourselves). I love summer!

I'm getting quite excited about the whole house moving thing now. We're off on holiday soon so can't take any action for a couple of weeks, I've never been excited to get home from a holiday before! (apart from the one with the d and v but that was exceptional...)

Hopefully · 01/06/2009 13:46

Did I mention that T drew blood from me while feeding the other day? I suspect I did, I was quite traumatised. Am now incredibly anxious throughout all feeds and was nearly in tears this morning when he nipped me again. Am cutting down feeds as fast as possible, but given my tendency to blocked ducts etc I don't want to just stop.

CarrieBo · 01/06/2009 13:59

You poor thing! Ds keeps biting me but I haven't drawn blood! I think he's frustrated at lack of milk coz I'm now only feeding once a day.

CarrieBo · 01/06/2009 14:00

Oh and I really liked Greg too, gutted he lost out on a chance to be in the final.

DebiTheScot · 01/06/2009 14:06

carrie are you doing alternate sides each day or both sides each day or just 1 side all the time? I'm still doing alternate but wondering if it'd be better to do just 1 side then it'd have a bit more milk in it so there'd be a bit more pressure behind it and it might be easier for the lazy baby to feed (if that makes sense)

Hopefully · 01/06/2009 15:31

Oh god, another email from work! Need to work myself up to open it again. Maybe this one will actually be a decision about flexible working. Anyone want to hold my hand?

lollyheart · 01/06/2009 15:56

[holds hopefullys hand]

Ive sent you a message on fb

Hopefully · 01/06/2009 15:59

Oh crap, they've come back with a fairly reasonable offer. I'm so depressed - really should take it up, and they've tried really hard to accommodate me, but the thought of doing that vile commute 2 days a week and not seeing T at all on those days (will leave before he's up and get back after he's in bed) is so awful.

Debs75 · 01/06/2009 16:03

Don't worry hopefully we ae here for you.

Robyn is still a bit snuffly so I raised her cot at the head end for her. Think I used too big a book as when she woke up at 6 this morning she was in a heap at the bottom of her cot. OOPSS.

It must of done some good tho as she slept for 6 or so hours, albeit very noisily. Need to get her a 1 tog grobag as she has been a bit sweaty when she wakes up, has anyone tries the slumbersacs?

Sunshinemummy · 01/06/2009 16:30

Oh forgot to mention Effy was ill and we had to take her to the local doctor. She was hot and retching and just so so sad (she didn't smile all day which is unlike her). Doctor gave her some antibiotics and she soon perked up. FIL and MIL went for a walk the afternoon we took her to doctors and met some women who were asking them where they were staying. When they said where they were asked how the baby was doing - so we were obviously the talk of the town!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/06/2009 19:06

debs75 - I've just bought this sheet sleeping bag. We've got 1.0 tog but they were too thick for ds (his room is 27 degrees at the moment). The one I have linked to is really thin cotton, I'm going to order the next size up for next yeat.

M has learnt how to grind his teeth. Oh the sound is awful and makes me want to vom. He's now got six teeth!
