I thought I'd use this title as not all of our delicious babies are on the move yet, including mine

after peeking at the other thread it reminded me that i went to get measured for new bra's this week and the woman in M-and-bloody-S went to get teen bras for me as nothing was fitting properly. The shame . I did end up with a grown up 34b though in the end thank God.

the teen bra's had rainbow prints and hearts on them .

DebiTheScot · 19/06/2009 22:47

At the end of the whole thread or just that page?

I haven't dared to get bras fitted either. I got a couple from asda but should really go as none fit properly. But meglet you haven't helped me want to go as that'll probably happen to me too. Actually rainbow prints sound cool.
I was a 34B before children, a 36B after 1 and now seem to be a 38B! So there's no way I'm having any more!

Off to bed now...

happy 9mths to my darling swissbabe.

Starlight I hope you aren't mocking my list-making! Assume that's what you've linked to . I actually gave my PG friend my hospital bag list the other day (still got the spreadsheet, naturally), and she was thrilled!

Have replaced toilet roll bandage with proper one, but am still not sure a big bandaged toe and finger are going to make a stylish addition to my gorgeous maxi dress at my mother's party on sunday... Maybe I can cover them in matching fabric

ninja · 20/06/2009 09:49

OK what time were the posts you're talking about starlight and I'll have a good laugh

OK - had to copy this post!!

I find myself suddenly overwhelmed with a vague (not serious) sense of panic. It occurs to me that:

  1. I don't have a birth plan (damn you starlight for making me think of it!)
  2. I haven't done all that much research on breastfeeding - I think I need to arm myself with a couple of sheets of paper with instructions on a good latch, numbers of breastfeeding helplines and anything else I need for BF
  3. I haven't actually worked out if we can afford for me to take a full year's maternity leave, even though I have decided I am. Hmmmm.
  4. I have no idea how to entertain a baby - what will we do while it is awake?
  5. I have never ever changed a nappy ever in my life and have no idea where to start with such a thing
  6. I have never held a baby of under about a year of age. how will I know which way up to hold it?
  7. My father keeps referring to the baby as Ermintrude and I am beginning to feel like this is a normal name
  8. If it's a boy it is even more likely to be called ermintrude as DP and i can't find a boy name
  9. At the back of my mind I think that if I buy enough stuff (breast pump, baby bath etc) it will make me a better mother, and it is beginning to occur to me that this is not sufficient to make me a good mother.

I appreciate that this mild panic may be due to the dream I had on saturday night that I gave birth and my baby could talk (think a girl version of the baby from Family Guy) and kept telling me off for changing its nappy wrong and forgetting to feed it.

ninja · 20/06/2009 12:31

Good thing it was a boy!!

ninja · 20/06/2009 17:01

not me ;)

Actually I think DH wants to (well he always wants to but ykwim)

I would if I could guarantee another like M but not yet

CarrieBo · 20/06/2009 19:39

Well we viewed two houses today!

House 1: move in condition, no onward chain, owner gave dd a toy (has to be a good sign?!). It was better than i had dare hope.

House 2: bad layout, smaller than it looks from the outside, 2nd bedroom funny shape so couldn't fit two single beds in, no loft space, pattered carpets, patterned walls, dated kitchen.

So which one did dh prefer? House 2 of course. Turns out there's a previously repressed desire to have a really nice garage!

We've decided to go with the pushier agent as we were impressed with the viewing they gave on house 1, but dh is going to try and barter down the commission. We'll set the ball rolling with the HIP on monday and house should be on the market a week after that...

Does anyone think Starlight is feeling broody??

Counting eyelashes? Did I miss out on something?

Meglet · 20/06/2009 22:25

I'm feeling broody, which is insane. Pesky Mother Nature. Bit worried what I'll be like after my hysterectomy next month, I'll probably go loopy and buy a baby substitute like a little puppy .

I have never counted eyelashes.

ninja · 21/06/2009 08:11

My sister has 4 kids then decided that was enough.... 2 years later she got a dog, then 2 years later another one....

I picked off cradle cap while feeding.

It seems insanely early to be feeing broody, no?

becaroo · 21/06/2009 09:10

I will admit this to NO-ONE ELSE but you guys, but I am feeling broody Ds2 is so adorable and I love him to bits and just want lots more like him!!!!!

I know I cant (healthwise) I know I shouldnt (sanity wise) and I know its a really bad idea (money wise) but the feeling is there all the same.....cant get a puppy - dh is allergic (although ds1 did came up with the idea of daddy living in the shed so we could get one!!!)

Off to prepare a hot buffet for 12 people now.........why do I do it? Why?

digitalgirl · 21/06/2009 10:00

I am quite broody, until we decided to TTC. Then the reality of it hit me like a Eurostar at top speed (i.e, after the tunnel): I haven't even stopped breastfeeding! I then decided I would like to let my body recover at least for a couple of months before I TTC again.

Ok, neurotic mum alert: am I the only one whose almost 9 month old does not only not crawl, but also does not turn, and whinges, then screams and then howls when put down on his tummy?

DP just asked, "is this normal??" It hadn't occurred to me that this could be a problem as all babies develop at different speeds... but he is 10 days short of 9 months. Also, DP is exposed to a smug friend who constantly goes on about her DD prowess at crawling, standing, eating (and grasp of quantum mechanics, one would think), and who regularly asks "is he crawling/turning/standing yet?" with a pitying expression in her face.

Diego is perfectly happy to sit playing with his toys for hours. Is there something we should do to encourage him to budge a bit?

Pacita · 21/06/2009 12:21

Sorry, that should read "I was quite broody"
