I thought I'd use this title as not all of our delicious babies are on the move yet, including mine

Digi you know you're not a failure, and you have read enough 'expert'books to know that he will eventually settle into a sleep pattern. Last month I totally despaired of Robyn ever sleeping through the night or before 10pm. She went down tonight at 8. I had to resettle her at 8.30 but she is asleep now, hopefully she will stay asleep.
If you go and comfort him then that is great. Have done CC with DD1 and found it quite harrowing. They aren't babies for long soon he will be sleeping all night and all weekend too only appearing when he can smell food.

We have a HV check on Monday. What are the book packs?

Think we might be starting to crawl as well. When she is on her tummy she is pushing against things with her feet and moving an inch or two. Once she is on the move she will be chasing the animals and I will never be able to sit down again

Hi Foxy

Good luck for today Starlight, I'll be thinking of you.

Good luck Starlight, hope it goes well.

I am going to Brighton today to meet a uni friend, hope the weather's nice so we can sit on the beach!

T has made it through to 5:30am twice without waking at all. This morning he didn't even have a bottle at 5, just went in the pram and slept till 7:30, with a bit of jiggling. It's a pain, but not nearly as bad as feeding him twice in the night and getting up at 5:30.

Sunshinemummy · 17/06/2009 08:52

Glad someone reminded me about the book packs. Effy has her check next week so I'll remind the HV's as they are useless at my surgery.

Well last night was a little better. She was up for about half an hour at midnight but then went back until I went in this morning.

Also, she hadn't had a sleep all afternoon at nusery and, because we were at DS's sports day (so cute) and at home I was able to get her in the bath and bed for 18:50 and she went straight to slkeep. No fussing, no messing, no waking herself up and crying. I think because of work I'm usually about half an hour later than this she's getting overtired and that's stopping her going down so easily.

becaroo · 17/06/2009 09:26

star good luck for today x

Toby is now pulling up on things...me, chairs etc!!! He also crawled properly for the first time yesterday and not his usual action man type commando crawl thing he does. Its exhausting as he wants to "walk" around holding my hands all the time which is a bit tricky when I am trying to get ds1 ready for school

My sympathies to those with non sleeping babies - us too! Dh and I had a row about it last night, because I just wnat us all to get some sleep and he thinks ds2 should be in his cot til at least midnight, but ds2 has other ideas!!!!

Off to do some housework (honest....!)

becaroo · 17/06/2009 09:27

foxy that is so excellent....!

digitalgirl · 17/06/2009 10:58

becaroo I think we have very similar boys. DS is exactly the same, non-sleeping and constantly wanting to be walked around. Last night he didn't go to sleep till 10pm. Still woke at 3 for a feed and then wouldn't go back into his cot, so came into our bed and then woke at 6 and crawled around the bed babbling to himself for 45 minutes before I eventually persuaded DH to take him downstairs.

foxy fantastic link there.

starlight good luck with your meeting today.

Well, DS is asleep so we've missed the class he was going to go to today. Might just have to take him to the park instead.

ninja · 17/06/2009 13:29

Becaroo my little girl too - just started pulling up to standing at the weekend, and cruising yesterday and walking holding on to me and .... (not sleeping )

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

you can get those book packs from the library too (or at least you can here). We don't see our health visitors (except in variety shows).

Hope today goes/has gone well starlight

Hi foxy where have you been?

Happy birthday ninja

ninja · 17/06/2009 14:01

We don't get our books 'til the health Visitor check and they're running 9 months late

CarrieBo · 17/06/2009 14:47

Just had such a slighty scary experience - I got locked in the bathroom! Thankfully I had a friend downstairs. I didn't have my phone with me so had to yell down until she heard me, then direct her to where the screwdrivers are so she dismantled the handle from the otherside, but still could turn the catch (it was the turning mechanism that was broken). She phoned my dh to ask permission to break the door down. We were both secretly quite excited about the prospect of this, but I was wondering which bit would give - you see we've got the first two estate agents coming round this afternoon to do valuations and I only wanted it to break in a way that could be easily masked!! Anyway at the 11th hour I remembered a tool that I've been nagging dh to put away, which is a flat thing with different sized holes for undoing nuts and bolts. Coz its flat my friend could slide it under the door and I managed to get it in the crack by the doorframe and slide the bolt across. The biggest casualty was the flat end of the tube of canestan I tried to use as a screwdriver!! I dread to think what would have happened if I'd been home alone with the kids, or if dd had locked herself (or ds) in there. Thankfully we're all ok! And I'm never taking my phone out of my pocket again!

Sorry that's so petty compared to campaigning authorities for funding, but I thought you might be entertained if nothing else!

CarrieBo · 17/06/2009 14:50

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NINJA!

I haven't got our Bookstart books yet, but I know we can get them from the library as that's where we got dd's toddler bookstart pack from.

CarrieBo · 17/06/2009 14:52

And ninja you were when you saw my ds sitting but now I'm that your dd is on the move!

ninja · 17/06/2009 14:54

Good luck from me too Starlight

Ponymum · 17/06/2009 16:41

I am very bad. Should not be on MN right now. Will have to catch up later but realised I have to make a post now, as this thread has dropped off my Threads I'm On! Back later I hope.

Pacita · 17/06/2009 17:37

hello all,

I've had a busy period: went to Spain on Wednesday to se my grand parents (they are too old to come to England and they really miss seeing Diego). Then I've been working Monday and Tuesday. Yesterday it was my birthday, (happy birthday to you too, Ninja, we almost share the date) so I had a nice dinner after work. DP came to meet me with DS. It got too late, DS fell asleep in the car, he did not wake up when changed into his pijamas so i left him to sleep. Of course he woke up at 2:30 and would not settle for ages.

I think I've made my mind up to take DS out of nursery and get a lady to look after him at home. For one thing, she'll be speaking Spanish to him, and I really think that he enjoys being in his own environment.

Hot news: because I'm so ancient I think DP and I are going to TTC as of next month!!!!

Starlight I hope that your meeting went well. Let us know.

becaroo · 17/06/2009 18:25

DG and ninja I hope you dont take this the wrong way - but thank god it isnt just our house!!!!!

Happy birthday to ninja Cake?
